I loved the video! It was super informative! I would love a video on monochrome! Also, a quick little update on my slow growing crestie I talked about before. For the past few weeks, I've been adding the honey to his food, hand feeding him some, feeding insects twice a weeks instead of once, and have bought a small electric space heater to slightly raise the temperature to stay at the constant ideal temperature (i'm still waiting for the whey) and he has gone from 3.5g to 5.2g as of yesterday. He is consistently growing 0.1-0.2g grams a day which is way better than before.
What are your thoughts about pairing a Lily White female with a red-based harlequin who both have great head structure? Or a red-based harlequin with a black-based harlequin female? These are all geckos I would want to buy potentially
I always love the quality of your videos to me it’s really pulls you in more besides the subject. I appreciate the examples for a good and bad paring. Most breeders don’t even go into depth about forbidden paring. Even breeders who have high end within their website but have dal x patterings.
This is a great guide, I don't think very many go over what makes a good pairing and what doesn't. Most guides I have seen only go over how to pair geckos and hatch eggs. I really appreciate this vid! I have been looking for information like this since I am searching for a male to pair with my female, and I want to pick the right one. This or next season will be my first breeding crested geckos
Great video. I am learning as much as I can about the genetics. I want to breed one day but I am taking my time. Just bought about 16 babies wholesale from a breeder wanting to focus on another breed and getting out of cresties. Can’t wait to see how they grow up and which ones I’m going to keep for holdbacks. I’ll check out your other videos especially if you have some that go in depth with the morphs and explain which genes are dominant, co-dominant or recessive.
@@robbysreptiles so we have a female harlequin with around 5 or 6 small dal spots. She just hit 45 grams and 2 years old this month. We were thinking about getting a male to breed her with as a test project next season. (Breeding reptiles is my daughter's dream job) Sounds like we should not breed her at all? My daughter is saving all the money she earns with the idea of getting a really nice lilly white male.
Someone gave me a breeding younger pair they had. For free. It was a red flame confetti male. And a harlequin blonde female. Thing is. I don't breed and I have a pair. And I'd give the babies away or trade if someome has a vivaruim. I segust not breeding animals for profit. There isn't much people make money telling people how to breed and end up giving away babies. ❤
It comes down to alot. A plan, consistency, building social media, working deals, doing shows, having a social media presence and posting online like morph market for competitive pricing or having something unique to offer. I think some people like to breed for fun as well and that's perfectly fine. I can say breeding Crested gecjos has changed my life only for the better and I have never been happier. And I am able to support myself, my family, and my other businesses off geckos and I wouldn't have it any other wat
Thanks so much! That was soo helpful!
So glad!
Very good video. This is how I also pick my geckos for pairing up. You are very good at articulating this better than I could 👍
So glad to hear it 🥲

I've personally done the first pairing, a lilly to a red tricolor with great success!

Yup, I am really doing my best to always do clean pairings. Dals sneak up on you sometimes though which sucks

People don't wanna giveaway their secrets ;)

I will be making these soon but all of my videos briefly talk about things like that for sure
Nice video. So what do you think I should breed with him? $2,500 red Lilly?
What is him? This is not nearly enough context haha
Red Lilly.
Wow this video is really interesting!
So, would you do Harley X Harley and Super Dal X Super Dal, but never Harley X Super Dal?
Yes! Patterned dalmation should be high discouraged

@@josephhalfacre1584 if you breed her she will make 50% spotted babies. But 50% shouldn't have spots. I'm a perfectionist and avoid it at all costs
I honestly don't know why this was recommended to me, but I'll watch it just cause it feels so absurd! XD
Welcome to the club
How would I send you a picture of my gecko ?

I'm working on a comprehensive guide to breeding Crested geckos!
Every gecko “breeder” needs to watch this before they taint the world with hideous babies lmaoo
Please post this on your story lollll
This is exactly how I choose mating partners for myself.
