    I see you have many eggs incubating at once. I assume that many are at different stages. Will the superhatch stay moist enough for the whole incubation of all the eggs?

    I love the video, but I have to say. A breeding pair and community of 4 need way bigger enclosures than what you recommend. A fully grown adult should have at least an 18 x 18 x 24 enclosure, and my pair I have in a 29g long conversion tank. I wouldn't recommend having this many animals in such a small enclosure

    • @brendenmiller3395

    I’m just here for incubating because surprise surprise my females laid fertile eggs. I got them together, and I know they were cohabited. She said they haven’t been bred but I seriously doubt both geckos would give me 2 fertile eggs each at the same time. I’m angry because it’s so irresponsible, I’m not prepared, luckily they take a couple months to hatch so I can make preparations but it’s so wrong to sell me geckos that have been bred without telling me!

    I’ve been looking at your geckos and they’re amazing but since they’re super expensive I can’t afford them so the little on the more expensive side because the regular crested geckos are like 40 bucks but if you just go to a regular like Petco near me they’re like 20 bucks but they’re not kept in good condition kept being fed the wrong things they’re in the wrong type of cages there Lily in the desert kind of thing but that is more for a leopard gecko

  • @Tricipitinus

    @TikisGeckos hey, how much of a problem is inbreeding with cresties/gargoyles? do you regularily seek to freshen up your bloodlines by trading with other breeders or isn't that really an issue with the new caledonians?

    • @TikisGeckos
      @TikisGeckos  7 років тому

      It can definitely make the genetics weaker but its not such a big problem with reptiles as it is with mammals. We are always adding new lines to our projects because we want to keep them as strong as possible.

  • @mvricat
    @mvricat 7 років тому

    I'm taking in two babies and i have a couple questions hoping somebody here can help me out!
    I know two females are fine together for the most part, would males be okay if they are from the same clutch and have been together since hatching or is it a bad idea all around? Also i do not know the sexes so if one is a female and one is male, is there a chance of him impregnating her before i can even tell what the sexes are? I don't intend on breeding so i want to know kind of how early a female is able to get pregnant so i can avoid it.

    • @littleblackcat356
      @littleblackcat356 7 років тому

      Mari K You should definitely separate just in case they are of the opposite sex until you can take them to a vet or are for sure what their genders are. No you should not keep 2 males together, as for most reptiles, the males will eventually fight to the death to figure out who's dominant. Keeping them separate will also prevent this in case they are both males. In the video, they did say the males will have a bulge while females will not on their butts. Hope this helps

    • @mvricat
      @mvricat 7 років тому

      I knew males fight, but I've seen this channel and some others that house 2-3 babies/juveniles together before they are old enough to find out the sex and was kind of wondering what the circumstances are and when to separate them. That's why I was asking how soon a female is capable of being pregnant and specifically about males that are from the same clutch. Thanks though!

      @@BEEASHTARDS I've never heard of such a thing. I'm not quite sure. If he has parasites I'm not sure if they can affect the eggs like that. Did the containers get washed with strong stuff or something? Really not sure.
