I'm 52 years old and have been doing this stuff my whole life. It's awesome to see the younger generations out enthusiastically enjoying the outdoors! Love what you're doing!
I'm a little older than you and have been fishing (AND catching fish 😁) for over 50 years. It also does my heart good to see these youngsters fishing and caring about the environment of these fish and for the fish themselves... Even if they keep some to eat. Like I do. There are good people still on the earth.
Just what I would need to get away from work etc and just relax over looking crystal clear waters, mountains and catching some big trouts. Great video dude!
I still don't know why you don't have more subs, you definitely deserve them. You make quality content with great camera work, in amazing and beautiful locations. What more could people want lol. Great video as always my friend 👍
Sami, wow, beautiful trout. Ive been watching u & your family pull together on many successful hunts and now your pulling large fish as well! You must have a gold horseshoe hidden somewhere . Great vid as always, cheers from across the border.
Awesome catch & cook! Love your channel - always learning something and it’s awesome that you have such an easing way of being. Your vids are entertaining yet relaxing. That was a beautiful fish and location :)
Awesome fish Samong!! If you ever want some free greens to go with your meal...here are a few that grow everywhere and are in season year round: Stinging nettle, delicious and very tasty steamed or sauteed with meat even stewed (they don't sting after cooking). Plantain: grows everywhere a little bitter raw can be cooked and is decent in stew. Dandelion: good in salad or steamed sauteed in small amounts (can be bitter). All of these compliment meat and eggs very well topped with salt pepper and a splash of balsamic vinegar...best part is they grow everywhere and are generally in season except winter!
Little late but I love no name! There's another lake down further! It comes to a y and you take a right. It's beautiful. I use little trout eggs out there!
great video Samong. I know i'm planning to move back to washington next year and I look forward to exploring random lakes as well instead of my typical go to. Maybe i'll run into you, also hope you'll be at 100k subscribers by then.
@@danielg4085 no worries lol. I feel the same way. People in Minnesota/Wisconsin always ask if it rains in Washington everyday. I tell them "YUP" so they don't move there.
as a fisher and hunter brought me to steve rinella which brought me to fishing with rod to fishermans life to nwfs who introduced me to you. you all basically fish trout like i do and love the catch and cook!
My husband and I Love your videos! We have been watching them all week. I'm so grateful to you for no nonsense, great fishing coverage. We Love that you don't have awful music and aren't arrogant. Appreciate you take time to give thanks to the Lord. Keep up the AWESOME videos! We are going fishing at lake Roosevelt soon - hoping for Walleye!
Glad you got up there! Beautiful little spot, sadly people have been really trashing it in the past few yers, me and my dad packed 2 full size garbage bags of trash out of there, last time we went up.
That lake was awesome man. Would love to come up to your area and fish. For a stocker that trout looked bomb. Thanks for the content man. You always deliver bro. Blessed on all your adventures. 🙌🔥🎣
Brother this was an awesome video it is absolute gorgeous views where you are in from Colorado and mountain lake fishing is the only fishing I love to do. It would be a great honor to someday meet you and fish skiing side with you my friend God bless!!!!
First of all, nicely done man 👏 great video and that was a fatty cutthroat!! Haven’t caught one yet. And second of all, that lake is absolutely breathtaking!! Man I’d be taking pics of every corner there! Nicely done my guy 👏 🔥
You ever want to do another hike and fish let me know. Would love to hang out and fish. Im a veteran that is new to the area and still learning the water of Washington.
As always Samong, great content and cant wait for the humtimg season to start. Looking at getting a bow tommorrow to opeen more hunting areas, since rifle is so restriced over here on the west side. Any tips?
I'm not the best archer, nor do I know much about bows in general. I would just recommend going to your local archery pro shop and shoot all the bows within your price range and buy whatever bow that feels the best for you. Archery is something that I need to start researching more about.
@@SamongOutdoors Picked up a Bowtech carbon icon dlx all black for shooting from a blind. No sting in the hand, quiet, and i shot it well, even though the handle isnt the most comfortable to me. Have it set at 70 pounds and the pull is smooth. I think once i get used to it will be a serious harvester of game.
Man this is crazy! I went to this exact lake today, caught my first cutthroat on a similar lure, and cooked it on the bank with Salt and Pepper. Then I come home to see this video on UA-cam 🤔
Next time try parking at the campground gate and walk in. Its only like a 5 to 10 min walk to the lake. It gets you to the other side where it is much deeper water with a faster drop off. Very good fishing that whole other side. I get good catches with a black/orange or black/red roostertails due to the crawfish. I love those alpine lakes up there. Theres a few other lakes close by that are amazing.
I caught my first cutthroat, at a lake, literally within 50 feet of my tent this weekend. Needless to say I am having microwave pad Thai tonight as I'm watching you also catch cutthroat and I love it.
I've got a question. I know you're a well-informed young fellow, and a very dedicated fisherman, I must say, but they told me--in Europe, and these were wild trout I was fishing for--that a trout has a memory of about 15 minutes. They said you could hook a trout and lose him, and come back 15 minutes later and get him to bite again because he couldn't remember what happened 15 minutes ago. So I tested this idea once when I was on an outing with my wife in Switzerland, or maybe it was Germany or Austria. After hooking a small trout and getting him up on the bank, he jumped off the hook and back into the river. So I kept fishing--downstream or upstream, I can't remember which--but I do remember this little creek being about a foot deep, and I remember coming back to this exact spot where I had hooked this little guy, dropped another worm in front of the same rock, exact same spot, and sure enough--and I'm sure this was the exact same fish--took it, and my wife and I ate him for dinner that night, or one of us did, because he was too small for both of us. But I'm wondering how that jives with your bait theory. If these fish in those mountain lakes have been in there longer than 15 minutes--let's say 20 minutes-- how are they going to remember what they ate in the hatchery? Say they'd been in this new habitat for three months. You'd think any self-respecting trout would forget everything he learned in the hatchery, wouldn't you? If I was a fish I'd want to forget! So I'm just curious to see what you think about this, this memory theory. I enjoy your videos. You're a serious fisherman.
Great question, William. PowerBait is a direct replica of what hatchery trout are fed and is one of the most effective baits to catch them. I don't think hatchery trout know anything negative about being in a hatchery other than that's where they spend the first part of their life. Once released, I believe it just becomes ingrained in them that "pellets" are food. I also believe that crawdad and and other prey is consumed by a trout's natural instincts. All speculation, I'm no biologist.
Hey I’m finally early, I wish I could go back out and fish but right now with the virus out my parents only want me to stay home I’m only 17 so I gotta obey the parents haha.
Mountain fish is always firmer and the flavor is much better, I think it has-to do with colder water temperature and cleaner eating. Just my opinion. Fun stuff bud. Great fish.

The meat of the mountain lake fish---- bows, cuts or brookies seems to always be more firm.. Cold clean water...
Good to know! That was the first thing I noticed when I first tried the meat!
I totally agree with that. I've had the same experience with the meat.
Agreed. Mountain lake/stream char/trout have a lot of flavor.
