The second fish is a cutbow. Cross from both. We get a lot of those at some of the lakes in Ca. Lake Amador is known not only for their huge trout but their cutbows too. Great video as always.

There is also a cut-bow which is when a rainbow and cutthroat spawn and the fish will have characteristics of both fish.

We did a fishing merit badge trip over to Chelan a couple weeks ago. We all caught a lot of rainbow trout. Scouts cleaned and cooked it using just salt, pepper, and bit of oil. They thought it was the best tasting fish ever! Simple things in life can have such big impact in our youths growth and learnings. Amen brother! Thanks for sharing

You broke your rod cuz you pulled straight back on the line. Everyone has done it. Hell I've done it on a brand new rod before
Now you have a reason to get yourself a nice ultralight rod for those trout. I've been using a Shakespeare micro series and it's been pretty good for a cheap rod.

I used to like ChaJa Myang noodles. Black bean paste I think. You can do anything with them.

When they act like that put a more natural color on. They are keyed on natural baits. Try a trout color. Try a Thomas spoon verse a kastmaster. They are lighter you can fish super slow and has more wiggle. Try slowing down more and bumping or stopping during your retrieve. Then speeding up. Starting off fast can scare them. Sometimes they want fast to chase.

Your braided line might’ve wrapped around the tip of your rod and when you reeled it tight, it broke the tip where it wrapped
