I drove myself in my Airstream to the Family Camp where I stayed during my assignment! I had great retirees helping me parking my rig. What a fun time. I loved it. That was 17 years ago lol, but it makes a difference to know how to take care of yourself when you need to.
I have huge respect for anyone, man or woman, who goes solo camping, especially for long periods of time. For a man, it's one thing, but for a woman, it takes lots of courage. Make sure you have the means to protect yourself. Stay alert to your surroundings. Make sure to plan ahead. Try to arrive at your camping spot as early as possible. You don't want to be searching for a spot or setting up in the dark.

A lot of women say they make it look like they have a man with them. I make sure the families around me know I am camping solo. The wives keep an eye on me. I know if I have to blast my air horn the wives will send their husbands running. I traveled by myself from Indiana to the NRVTA in Texas by my self in the end of December a few years back. I then drove by myself back end of February. I was camping by myself the full 7 weeks of becoming a certified RV tech. I normally go solo a week or two every year. I am in my sixties dealing with repairing anything in all sizes of RVs.
My sweet, crazy gal. At 77 I am just so proud of you. I have a 20 ft Airstream, #5… I love small and travel jut to see family. Now at retirement we finally gave ourselves the freedom to just go whenever we want wherever we want. You are amazing and full of life. Keep traveling and smiling. Love you both. ❤❤
My husband and I have been camping for years. He always wants to drive, hook up etc. We are retiring and getting ready to embark on some long travels. I told him it is so important that i learn to pull the trailer, hook it up and park it. Emergency's do happen and I don;t want the added stress of being helpless or at least feeling that way.
I'm probably going to say something 100% unnecessary but I've been in a relationship with someone like that. To me, it's a red flag. Be safe and keep learning.
I have seen it happen -- Husband dies or becomes too ill to drive and wife has to hire someone to get the RV back home either because he insisted on doing all the guy stuff or she was too timid to try it herself.

Ok. It’s probably been said already… one tire at a time with the bike! Grab handle bars, squeeze back breaks, lean back and lift front tire into its rack. Then, you can lift the rear tire into its rack. Much easier on the back. You two are amazing!!! So much fun, joy, love, and adventure together. Thanks for sharing.

I’m surprised that you don’t do long distance driving. I’ve done thousands of miles solo and love it. Otherwise, great job for learning the other things about packing, etc.
A great recipe I use is melted butter real butter , about a cup and a half of your favorite beer , cayenne pepper garlic salt garlic powder and whatever seasoning y'all like to add as well Italian dressing then I like to marinade the boneless thighs overnight and then grill them awesome way to make chicken on the grill ! You can obviously do bone-in , when I make this for my boys , the chicken doesn't ever make it to a plate , they eat it right off of the grill lol oh and Worcestershire sauce about a half of a cup and 3 cups to 4 Italian dressing I always use about 2 cups of butter (melted)
My partner and I have been in living in our travel trailer for 4 years. We have been on the coast of Oregon for a year now. With the hot summers the coast is the place to be. I am flying to Colorado to pic up a new van that has been finished off in side. We will continue to live in our trailer but venture out in the van. We are excited.
The Walt Longmire series on Audible is really GOOD!! Murder mystery centered around Wyoming. I think he has around 20 books so far. The narrator is fabulous as well!

A little tip on loading the ebkes for easier loading. My husband loads our ebikes too, but for me I put the front wheel up first followed by the back wheel also remove the batteries. I couldnt do it lifting the whole bike at once. We have the same bike rack. You guys are the best.

Totally relate to the having a system for packing up. We used to have a list we looked at before we left a site, but now we've done it so often we don't look at the list. We have a big note by the cabinet with the tv and electronics, to turn the electronics off before leaving. We've never left a hatch open but I can't believe how many people leave one up as they drive down the highway.

even when we travel with someone we should know how to do it ALL on our rigs, we never know when the unthinkable will happen then what, we don't know what to do.. i think it is good to know you can do it if the need comes up ... safe travels out there !!!

Cooking corn on the cob in the microwave is quick and easy. Shuck the corn, rinse with water, roll up each ear in a piece of wax paper and twist the ends to seal, microwave 2 ears on high for 4 minutes. So easy.

Might the “Find My” app. We have it and it is great when I am traveling by myself and my husband can track me and will check weather or traffic where I am or heading and let me know if there is something I need. I find it very comforting to know he can always find me.

If you need to eat red meat, try eating veal and lamb. Or only eat like a quarter pound of fine steaks. You will lose much more weight. For breakfast, eggs without the yolks and boil the eggs. 😢 Yep. No frying. So more baking & boiling. But congratulations on your accomplishments. I see da differences. Good luck camping solo. Be sure you always have defense tools in different places where you know they are located (easily). Most people will have them in their bags. But what happens when you run and leave your bag behind? Something to think about. I'd be scared for a minute until I become confident. This includes making provisions for possible attacks by animals and human predators. All the best ! i have a trick you might want to try the next time you cook corn on the cob. put a cup of milk in the water it makes the corn sweeter
If you lift the front of the bike first and set it in the rack and tie it down, the back will be easier to lift and set in place.

Someone on UA-cam cut bacon in smaller pieces and cooked it in pot! I tried it and it was awesome, quicker and less mess! Try it y'all!
