Excellent.I like this new way of taking friends along but most importantly the fellowship at the end with a healthy cookout
I agree. This adds a lot of depth to the fishing videos.
Fleece beanie over the ears, Mountain Hardware full upper, “Deadliest Catch” black bibs, never pinch crabbing gloves, Hummingbird retinas, pimp floats/traps/lead ropes. Cush LUND........ and wait for it. PK is roll’N the flip flops!! What a BOSS. #MVP
Your videos are excellent I don’t mind the catch and cook I don’t mind it being long either very good quality thank you Mark Knoxville Tennessee
Slayed winchester bay crab dock today caught 9 in 2 hrs with hoop net pots. Love ya videos PK keep em coming
What is his name
PK, just a suggestion, pack a "food first aid kid", a small tool/tackle box you can pack with spices, seasoning etc...something you can store behind your seat and always on hand for these cookouts
Man, so jealous. Moved to CG a couple years ago and have been trying to plan a crabbing trip, just hasn't happened yet. Great video.
Hello what is CG
I had to participate in this video. I am having homemade seafood pasta as I watch another video...Unfortunately it was made with imitation crab but it took the video to the next level...Great Video....
Imitation crab??? There's no such thing😳😳
Keep it up man! Much love from salinas!
Wesley I bought the wedding ring set for my ex-wife at the Northridge mall.......
..... god I hate that place! lol
thanks for the informative video PK
Makes me jealous in a good way. Wish I lived closer to the coast when I watch your videos.
Took you advice. Just returned from Coos Bay. Caught over 40 crabs off a few piers and had a lots of fun. Will probably return in November.
About a week ago I had 10 big keepers in one pot. Fantastic! Got my limit and threw back 18 keepers from 3 pots, one pull. I’d say 90% of crab in the pots were male.
Where?
Dmitry Adamenko Winchester Bay
That's a crabbing trip right there !! Congrats on the quick limit. What a feast to enjoy afterwards too.
Pk much love from the San Francisco Bay, you gota make the other guys pull up the pots if your injured I hope your arm is okay absolutely enjoyed the video as much fun as Watching Deadliest Catch maybe even better because it's Dungeness
Those American Shad do make great bait. here in Nova Scotia Canada we use them for both crabs and lobster bait.
Thanks to the information in your videos, I will be crabbing this week from the shore. I’m very excited for it! Thank you for making the videos sir 👍🏻
Great vid Pk! You're getting me excited about my next trip out there...around middle of september...seen you wearing a sling near the end, hope you didnt pull a muscle on your rotator cup...from lifting those heavy pots...tight lines 😎
Go with the Washington crab size. I tossed back lots of 5 3/4 inch males on my first pull today and still kept three over 6 1/4 inch keepers.
Good idea to check firmness. Lots of soft shelled crabs out there.
Another great video PK keep up the awesome content
I bought that trap for $121 and it is fantastic. I use it on the california coast and catch stone crabs and spider crabs
Great Video as always. As for length, I'm up for a marathon watching you fish and cooking up some of God's bounty.
I purchased both of mine from fisherman's Marine here in Oregon on black Friday. About 70$ including cheap rope and a Buoy.
Thank you so much for uploading these videos! My husband and I are looking to take our first crabbing excursion late September to Newport and are are using your videos to help us figure out what we are doing. We have never been fishing, crabbing, etc. Do you have an FAQ video for beginners? What advice would you give an absolute beginner?
Excellent information you have provided!
Great video as always PK. Hope I get to meet you one day... keep it up man
Freshiy cooked crab with friends...awesome PK
That is some crazy crabbing 😮
Well done Lads
wild how much dungys love chicken hahah
Chad Nickel who doesn’t love chicken? Even vegans love chicken, or they wouldn’t make so much fake chicken out of TVP and tofu....
Aren’t you supposed to mark your bouy’s? Great video PK! Wish I was there.
Aloha nice catch 🦀love your channel stay safe 🤙
Good show, very informative.
I would really like to go crabbing with you one time before I ride my spirit horse 🐎.
I can only dream of pots like that. PK is there any commercial crabbing around where your pots were? Reason I ask is we crab in North bay, WA by Ocean shores. The outside of the bay is littered with commercial pots. We are lucky to get 1-2 keepers per pot, lucky to get even 5 crab in a pot period. I really believe the commercial pots are just cutting us off before crab even get in the bay. Pretty frustrating.
Commercial crabbing isn't an issue here in OR
Love from the Eug bro! Hope I can meet you in person one day👊
Always awsome PK!
Great video!
Hello from Chesapeake Bay. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos. Can you tell us about the season, limits for gear, etc? Your traps are really sturdy looking and well made but the regs here say we can’t use traps that size in Maryland. I love Oregon and am thinking of planning a trip to hunt fish and crab
Rocking them Crabs!! btw, you sux! haha I want! We getting 6.5 blue claws on east coast right now! wish we could trade!
I noticed you cleaned the crab before cooking, do you rip there backs off when their alive? I wondered how to do it bc I steam them whole but would rather have those guts out beforehand. Thanks!
Yes! You can clean them the same exact way as you would pre, and post cooked. Take the top off, peel back the apron, crack in half... shake out the guts. Usually one takes one good shake, and de-gill. Then done
Alec has an awesome, informative channel too. And hes here in oregon as well and appears in videos with PK from time to time. The best crab cleaning method is here by him...

@@Twitchytim Thank you so much for the info! I love Waldport! Would usually be there right now but the pandemic kept me in place here in Port Orford. Maybe I'll see ya next year when I get back there. Till then, love your videos! Maria
Love your videos! In the bay and just picked up this pot. What knot do you use to connect the rope to the decoy rings (the taped sections)? Also, how long do you let them soak off a pier?
for my crab pots, I let it soak about 30 min to 1 hour. Just a simple overhand knot. doesn't need to be fancy since it's taped and won't come off.
@@oregonlife Thanks so much for the response! Liked and subscribed!
As always, PK, great videos here. What happened to your arm back then anyway?
Dislocated shoulder socket at the time.
Hey PK couple questions, haven't been able to find those decoy clips anywhere, any idea where to find them? Also any chance you know how much rope one might need to fish off the crab dock in Winchester Bay? Thanks for all the great videos, still trying to figure out all the best crabbing spots oregon has to offer.
I got them off Amazon. You can try Cabela's and Bass Pro Shop too. Never crabbed off Winchester Bay dock, but I'd imagine a 100 foot rope will suffice. Crabbing spots: www.everylist.com/forum/index.php?threads/where-to-crab-and-clam-in-oregon-oregon-crabbing-clamming-maps.27/
OK, what's the deal with your left arm, PK? Enjoy the length, too.
Just give me two and I'm making a pot of Louisiana Gumbo!!
PK, I have seen the underwater footage when the crabs can open the exit bars, can those be weighted to help keep them closed? Good trip, can't wait until November!!
Wrap pencil lead on the doors
PK, if you want to learn shad fishing Willamette River, I’ll show you how to do that at Clackamette Park in Oregon City. Contact me and I’ll get you at least 10 shad a day for starters during late May to early July. When you get really good, you can get 50 a day.
I think it would be better to remove that bait cage and zip tie or hang bait loosely. It just seems that the bait cage is too close to the entrance to the pot and large crabs will likely cause a traffic jam going inside. Likely the door will be kept open causing large legal size crab to escape.
Where on the Oregon coast do you usually go crabbing?
Very good trap, very high quality, but?
Buy Danielson...cheap, and needs a few minor (cheap) modifications. I've used them in the ocean with the only change being a little extra weight and a longer line.
Oregon is the best for crabs!

Love Alaska, too, Rick!
Do bigger crab taste better? Or what size tastes best?
What gloves are you using?
What bay is this, If you don't mind me asking..
What month was this trip?
New rule in Oregon this year. ID required to be on crab buoys. Details are in the regs.
I have never cleaned them before i cooked em?
I just cooked 3 dungeness and 2 red rock crabs 2 hours ago in Dungeness bay water. Boiled the water, dumped in the crab, cooled in fresh water, and cleaned into a paper bag. Hello garbageman.
Pk what happened to your arm
What is shad?
A large herring originally from the east coast.
So good but way high acidic for me I think 7% pH is so high for my body and that's the norm for dungees even if I touch them as well
Rent boat+license +bait+ cage+ ill just buy the crab lol
You don't need to a boat. License isn't that expensive. For bait use any expired, spoiled, or freezer burned meat or fish. For the trap you don't need a cage like this one they sell cages that are like boxes for like $10. Plus you can keep like 12 dungeness crab (in oregon) which more than pays for your gear if we are going of dungeness crab prices in stores.
I am so sad I celebrated my 50 birthday last Sunday went crabbing at the south jetty in Oregon in the doc I ate crab yum and bam broke out in cold sores yes so sad my crab eaten days are over
Too many people on this boat???
