Hi James, I think this is the only new one. All of the others in the city are still the older green ones. We used one of those too. I heard they were going to be switching out the old ones with the new ones. They are both about the same inside and both styles are nice, but I do really like the modern look. Thanks for sharing with us. 😄👍
Hello Steve and Mason!! Woo hoo...thank you for highlighting this bathroom that is right out of the Jetsons! I have used similar places in France. What a great trip for you two to spend time together on. I absolutely love San Francisco! It was one of my bucketlist places to visit.....and got to go twice in 2019. What a treat!! It did not let me down. Talk about getting my 10000 steps per day; we were closer to 30k per day....there is so much to see there.
Hi Alan, glad you got to visit too. I agree, it’s an awesome place. And yes, we walked almost 10 miles every day ! 😳 With all of those hills, the people who live there must be much healthier than just about anywhere else. Thanks for watching and keep your eye out for the video we did together. It goes live on Monday. Have a great weekend. 😄👍
I miss when the Ferry Building used to play musical chimes when I worked downtown in the 90s! Some of the tunes weren't as recognizable as others, but I always thought it would be cute if it played "Downtown" in its rotation!
Oh Steve! You have given me a good belly laugh this morning! I must say that you are definitely the first person to have visiting a toilet/porta potty on their bucket list! Lol! Although I must say it is definitely more pleasing to look at that an ugly porta potty! It resembles the ones that they have in Asia. I believe they call them pods over there, they are high tech and self sanitizing.
Hi Stacy, glad I was able to provide a little chuckle for you this morning. I’ve never been to Asia. This one is self sanitizing too. Maybe it’s the same designer. 😄👍
The bucket list pubic restroom! And you were able to capture it getting cleaned! I admit it is well designed inside and outside to keep it graffiti free. I'm guessing Mason didn't have it on his bucket list. 😄
OMG ❤️ I'm having so much fun with you and Mason 💕 Mom & I look forward to all your adventures. Greetings from your friend in the great Peach 🍑 State of Macon, Georgia 🍑 Can't wait to see what's next on the list. Hi Mason !!!! ❤🎉❤🎉
They waited until the last minute to clean it. But it is really kind of cool looking for a bathroom. I got a kick out of the jingling ice cream man. If you don’t have landscapers, interrupting your videos, you’ve got ice cream bells!😂🔔
They didn't have public bathrooms last time I was there. When you were a local you knew where to go to use a hotel or stores bathroom. You just didn't make a big deal about it. I heard where sometimes people sleep in them, and you can't use them. Thanks for showing them to us. Take care.
Hi Maria, the nice thing about them now is that most of them have attendance there monitoring who goes in and who comes out. And if you read the button on the inside, it says the door will automatically open after 20 minutes. I guess that’s how they keep people from sleeping in. 😄👍
Hi Steve...I forgot to mention....after leaving Palm Springs, we went up to San Jose for the evening. Ha...a funny anecdote.....I've heard about Silicon Valley for a couple of decades; but never had been there. I just imagined it was some big mega valley such as Napa Valley; flowing with natural grasses, rolling hills on the flanks, and the mega tech headquarters and factories scattered through out. And then I get to San Jose....and they are calling it Silicon Valley hehehehe. A megalopas metro area. hehehe. But, we really really liked it! We went to a place called Santana Row, which is a walking street. It happened to be their weekly Wednesday night farmers market; there were tons and tons of people, families, and friends out. Live music at a few of the corners. It was clean.....the people were nice....and it came across as a nicely diverse area. Ha...and, it was like 70 degrees hehehe. The downside, aside from what the traffic could be, is that it looks to be a pretty expensive area. But....with all of those high tech companies surrounding the area, it looks like it is a well funded community too.
Hi Alan, I’ve never been to Silicon Valley either. I have been to San Jose, so maybe I have been there and I just didn’t know it lol. Thanks for the heads up. That sounds like a really nice place to walk. 😄👍
Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise. On board Captain Steve and Captain Mason. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where man or woman has gone before! 😅😂😂❤❤
I know a lot of people have said that, but we didn’t experience that at all. Only a few homeless on market Street, but nothing at all like LA. I guess we lucked out and avoided all the riffraff! 😳😄👍
Between Pier 39 and the Ferry Building only Pier 3 had an unlocked public toilet - that's quite a long walk! I guess Pier 39 must have toilets but I didn't explore that area. Plenty of toilets in the Ferry Building. Between the Ferry building the Embarcadero BART station there is one of the old green toilets that looks as if it has been closed for years. On the plus side every BART station is claimed to have functioning toilets these days.🤣😂
Can’t see a reason why a public restroom can’t also be public art? Aesthetic and practical, seems like a nice direction to headed in for creating public spaces. 🏳️🌈 Paul
Hi Kristen, most of my videos for the past 2 to 3 months have been 30 minutes to an hour. Unfortunately they don’t get that many views and they take a lot more work to do. So I think going forward I will go back to making five and 10 minute videos. The long ones just take hours and hours and hours to film and edit and upload and then if there’s a mistake, I have to do everything all over again and I always have to watch every video three or four times before it’s posted so the long videos can take days to do. Sorry 🙁
Really, you're excited over a port-a-potty? I would never use it. The public works department needs to get their act together. It makes more sense to clean it at closing time versus before it opens. That way the chemicals can work overnight. Imagine the smell if they didn't flush it overnight, gross.
The things you are seeing on this trip - Every day is something different and unique. Glad you are having fun gentlemen. Blessings - Judith 🎭🎤
Hi Judith, I know, right? It’s really been a fun road trip full of lots of surprises. 😳😆👍
I used the old ones that were green years ago. This new one looks like an art piece.

Cool out house 😂 beats the one I had to use on my grandparents farm when I was a kid 😂❤

Interesting take on a public toilet. Love having Mason in the videos. 😊

More impressed with the huge, lovely palm trees! 😂😂
I was surprised to see them in San Francisco. Palm trees are definitely more of a southern California thing. 😎👍
❤😊 stay safe
I would only ever follow you Steve in a bathroom video! LOL You are so fun!

Hi guys. Love your videos 😊
Thanks Jerry! 😄👍
Looks like something out of MIB .....
😳😆👍
How much does the art deco potty cost????
They are all free! 😄👍
How much did the city of San Francisco pay for the fancy potty??
Cnnot argue the outdoor potty was super clean. Is Mason an only child?
No, he has a sister. Michaela doesn’t like to be on camera so she’s not in very many of my videos. 🙁

I finally figured out who your grandson reminds me of. A young Adrian Grenier. Same mouth and smile and eyes.

Very similar, like there are all over west Europe , but you have to pay to get access to it
Interesting. I’m glad they are still free here. 👍
But They had self ckeansing rest rooms before. They are timed, I think, and when you leave they start spraying inside automatically.

It looks like there are a lot of palm trees there
Yes, I was surprised to see them there. We have a lot of them in Southern California, but I don’t recall seeing very many in Northern California. 😄👍

Can we have longer videos like 35 minutes or an hour?

I hope its not used as a place to sleep like in the Venice beach bathroom.
They planned for that and there’s a sign inside that says the door will automatically open and stay open after 20 minutes. 😄👍
Is it terrible that id like to have a home i can hose down 😂?
lol no, I think most of us would like that! 😳😂👍
