I always find it sad when I hear " I've never heard of this band before" LEGENDARY, This Band this is why Music Education in School is necessary! Everyone on this planet should know this Band! 😊 I'm so glad I was raised on this music... 🎶 🎉🎷 🎸 💃
SF Cub Likewise!
He found it now. That's what's important.
I find happiness when I see people reacting to a song that is unknown to them.💕
Some of these reactors that say they haven't heard of this group or that group or artist are bullshitting so they can have content and get likes.
Exactly, this guy must of been living under a rock.I think it’s about getting likes, reactions. This is like saying,I never heard of the Beatles.EWF is a iconic band, that plays world music. He need to do more research about the original members, during their golden Columbia record years. The original “9” was Maurice White,Philip Bailey,Verdine White,Al McKay,Johnny Graham,Ralph Johnson,Fred White,Andrew Wolfork,Larry Dunn.
A rabbit hole! So many hits... "Let's groove", "Boogie Wonderland"...In "Fantasy" you will listen to Philip Bailey and his falsetto. Beautiful!
Love this funky jazzy group. They covered many genres of music. They had a lot of hits in the 70's-80's such as "Shining Star", "Got To Get You Into My Life", "Boogie Wonderland", "Let's Groove", "Reasons", "Sing A Song", "After The Love Is Gone" etc.
Definitely best to listen to "Shining Star" and "That's the Way of the World" together.
Phil Bailey and Phil Collins have a video where they sing Phil's song "Easy Lover"
@@kens32052 Love that song! The video is so good. Great recommendation.
Just a great happy song. Love it.❤😊
I was fortunate to get to see these cats in concert, was totally one of the best days of my life.
We’ll get you introduced to the greats of the 60’s and 70’s yet!
LOL👍🏼
All I ever wanted to do when I heard this song was dance, so I did!
Nothing makes you want to get up and dance and move more than this song. ❤
Except for maybe "Boogie Wonderland", which he should check out next.
The 70's was a special time for music.
I’ve seen them live twice, both times they toured with Chicago. Best concerts I have ever seen. I always smile inside when I hear this song remembering how well Verdine White can dance and kick his legs up while playing that bass, bell bottoms flying! Their live performance was stellar. There is a video here on UA-cam “ Chicago & Earth, Wind, Fire live ‘04 at the Greek Theater” . Full concert. These “ old guys” killed it. Both groups still touring on their own this year still.
Also got to see both together in concert several years ago. At the end when both groups combined to play a couple of songs it was amazing.
@@johnbember3425 Absolutely, John. The last song they jammed together was on "25 or 6 to 4". Outrageously good! Spectacular!
I saw them in concert once. One of the best concerts EVER! You can literally bring your entire family and make it a family event. Their music brings energy that speaks to the soul-even kids. 🥰
My All-Time Favorite band!!!! Seen them in concert 4 times!!! And maybe a 5th time if the band comes this way!!!
They had a great stage presence. Their costumes were so colorful and brought the African culture to the audience, imo. Their harmonies were out of this world.their brass section was out of this world, and their energy was out of this world. Salvo, your facial expressions of awe, and joy were just priceless. I loved this band. This rabbit hole is one you would love to go down. Thank you 😊
I am 63 and while I have not been to anything in a few years this was always a given to be played at weddings, Christmas dances, and most social events with a DJ or band. Always loved this song.
I know a couple who waited 2 years to get married on September 21st so this could be their first dance.
All the reactors that listen to the 60's & 70's say the same thing. Love this group.
I graduated college in 1979 and ANY time this song was played at a party the dance floor was PACKED! FABULOUS harmonies, brass section, energy!
I clicked quick for this one ❤ love this song… I’m soooo showing my age 😉
EWF is one of the greatest bands of all time. Try "Reasons" live version. Phillip Bailey has amazing vocals. The hit list is deep. Sing a song, Boogie Wonderland, That's the way of the world, Fantasy, Lets Groove Shining Star.
So much talent in one group with the vocals, horns, guitats, base, drums, and keyboards. I wonder if we'll ever see something like them again.
I don't think so.
Earth Wind & Fire will always put a smile on your face! Along with the other songs mentioned here, give a listen to "I'll Write a Song for You" -- OMG - the buildup of those falsetto vocals!! It's a GORGEOUS love ballad that starts out so softly and builds up as it goes. And of course, you must listen to the dreamy and jazzy "That's The Way of the World." EW&F is a PARTY!
This is my favorite EWF song I'll Write a Song. Just Beautiful!
Haven't heard this gem in a little bit..Sooo damn great
One of the greatest bands of the era and the greatest funk-disco band of all time. Brilliant musicians all! Like most 70s music it was meant to make you feel good and uplift you! What a great time to be young it was! Give me a time machine and I'd head back without even a second thought!
I'd go back with you. I was in college in the early to mid 70's and you would hear EWF throughout the dormitory.
MORE Earth, Wind and Fire! Such a funky, cool band and high-quality music. 'Fantasy' is a fine tune. The high falsetto voice is Philip Bailey. A song of his you will love is "Easy Lover". It's not EW&F, but Bailey co-wrote it with Phil Collins (who produced his solo album 'Chinese Wall' which had the song) Phil and Philip sing in duet. It is so '80s, funky and the video is very fun and entertaining. Oh, and Collins comes out with a wardrobe suggestion that mimics those of EW&F to Bailey's guffaws of laughter.
They're totally still touring! They played in my little town here on the North Coast of Oregon last year for the 4th of July. I live about 100 yards from the beach where they played. I was makin dinner jammin to live 'September'!
I have been lucky enough to see the Group twice in the UK. Once in the late 70’s and once a few years ago. They where dynamic. Their costumes where fantastic, and they all sorts of things on stage. They also had a female band within their group called The Emotions who added to the costume and sound!
Such a great groove! You can't help but move to this. Please react to the one that started it all, "That's the Way of the World." It gets overlooked so often. Thanks!!
"Boogie Wonderland" next, please and thanks. I think that if I ever gained access to a time machine, I'd land in 1975.
That was my era. I am 66 now. Everbody wanted to be original and Cool. One of the reasons for all the crazy outfits. The magical years of the 70's. It was wild but all good during that time. The songs of so many groups were about love and unity; no angry artists. It was a time in history that I wish all the young people of today could have experienced as we did. Check out Kool & The Gang when you can. Thank you for sharing. Peace...
I've seen them live twice now. Maurice is gone now, but Philip Bailey is still in the band and is singing lead now. Wow, he has a fantastic voice and can really hit high notes still! They're all still full of energy and put on a great show. Also, Maurice's brother Verdine is still touring with them and he's amazing on that bass. I can't say enough good things about their live shows. If you get a chance, go see them!
I saw them in 2019 live at the Hollywood Bowl in Log Angeles. They are still great but I missed Maurice White. There will never be another.
Philip Bailey from EW&F did a duet with your boy Phil Collins called "Easy Lover". It's a certified banger. You know that you HAVE to do that one now.
One of my all-time favourite songs. EW&F has a ton of amazing songs! Have fun... your ears and hips will love it! 🕺😎
Barbra Streisand did great collab with them on a song called Time Machine. One of my faves
JMO but us older GenXers born ‘65-‘69 won the Music Lottery - we’re old enough to have experienced the incredible music of the ‘60’s and ‘70’s and young enough to have been in our teens and 20’s during the ‘80’s and ‘90’s.
In addition to SO many songs by EWF, groups like Parliament/Funkadelic, Gap Band, Kool and the Gang, Rufus & Chaka Khan, early Commodores, and Sly and the Family Stone are a treasure trove of amazing hits under this amazing genre.
Love this song! ☮️❤️😎
Earth Wind and Fire was exactly that !! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The way of the world by them is outstanding !
Saw them twice, in 1979 and 81, absolutely the best shows I've ever seen, and I saw Pink Floyd, Genesis and The Police
Great reaction! You should check out EW&F's song "Fantasy." It wasn't as big a hit, but is it oh so funky and the harmonies and melody are ridiculously great!
Philip Bailey shares vocals on this song as well as many others. Check out Philip with Phil Collins " Easy Lover ".
Love it so much!! Earth Wind and Fire is the ultimate embodiment of funk, energy and vocal precision! I really enjoyed seeing your genuine reaction to the magic you were listening to! Well done! 👍🏼👏🏼😍
In 1981, my band was performing at a club in Seattle, and who walks in but Maurice White! Nervous much?? I had the honor of meeting him while on a break! RIP. I saw them live twice, they were fantastic live.
Earth, wind and Fire =JOY!!!!
Some songs are good, some songs are great, and some songs are immortal. This is most certainly one of the latter. 😎
“Let’s groove tonight” is a must listen!
70s and 80s what's the best to grow up in when it came to music. Not only did we have the great music. Do we had access to the great stuff that came before. Like the crooner's and the big bands of the 40s etc. September is a great song by Earth wind & fire. You should check out "cool and the gang" if you haven't already. And the Commodores. Same type of.
Earth Wind and Fire was my very first concert when I was 16! They are incredible showman. The whole concert was a sight to behold. The lights, the horns everything WOW!!!!!!! Their songs were played at every outdoor STOMP ( a dance held on the schools tennis's courts etc)
My music appreciation decades were 70's and 80's..what an awesome time to be alive!!❤❤
Yet again another fantastic choice. This is the music of my childhood. I can’t help but move when this plays. This really does bring back such happy memories. Thank you for choosing such brilliant music to react to. ❤
Every time I hear this song, I hoola-hoop for the whole song, dance, and every September 1, I send it to all my friends! Such a mood-lifter! ❤. Loved your reactions.
Love that “…in the key that our souls are singing” got you. One of the best lines ever!
Finally! The reaction we have all been waiting for. This song nearly won. It almost beat Black Dog.
Do you really believe he’s never heard all of these songs? Clearly he knows these are legendary songs that people will be surprised he’s never heard
Love all the stuff, but Boogie Wonderland is desfinitely my favorite.
You can still " get down to it." We do. Still plays on the classic radio stations. Play it at home and dance awwwwway
Just a great band for when you want to listen to fun, fantastic music. And September is the cherry on top of a great catalogue
Danced in the clubs to this and much more Earth Wind & Fire. So many memories. Great reaction to a fantastic song..... I definitely remember ✌❤😎
Oh ya and I saw them live
This was the 1st eight-track cassette I bought when I purchased my 1st stereo. Which was contained in a piece of furniture with a turn table.
One of my all time favourite tunes as a teen. Couldn’t get sick of this song. And I was more of a rock guy. That said I always loved a song with great rhythm and groove
This song WILL live on forever. At weddings for black folks, it's as mandatory as the vows 😄.
It's one of my all time favorite songs. It's perfection.
You'd probably enjoy the collaboration between Phil Collins and Philip Bailey, "Easy Lover". Fun song and the video pokes a bit of fun at Philip's tenure with EW&F.
This is such a super feel good song.
You might be interested to know that Philip Bailey recorded a track with....wait for it....Phil Collins. Also there is a tribute band in the UK called Earth, Wind and For Hire, which cracks me up every time I say it.
I got to see them in concert as well, back in the day. I think they're back on tour. Saw a commercial for a city in Kansas. Do a concert search on them to see if they're coming to a venue near you. ADDED info, just three UA-cam frames below yours was a post for Lionel Richie PLUS Earth Wind and Fire in concert! That would be awesome!
Wow... that's music, thanks! Love! 💛💛💛
This song always makes me happy ❤
My favorite song of theirs- classic.
I grew up on this and I knew it was great even when I was 5 years old. I started playing drums when I was 7 and still play today. They are a go to for me, so much fun in the music.
Earth, Wind and Fire featuring the Tower of Power! Fantastic reaction ❤😊😊
Saw them in Phoenix in 1976 - no one sat down. Best concert EVER
One of my all time favorite songs. I never get tired of it. Recently playing it everytime I get into the car. It puts me in a good mood and you HAVE to move to it. ❤❤❤❤
Simply one fantastic song , great group , many memories of my younger years …👍👍❤️❤️
Great reaction!! Great to see your recognition of whenever Maurice White goes up the scale vocally on the verses!! It adds so much more to the flow of the song! I was fortunate to work stage security for one of their concerts in the early 80s!!!
Truly one of the best bands of all time. So many hits....so many good vibes. They are amazing!! ;) Thanks for reviewing them!!! They had an album and it was packed with fantastic songs and hits :)
Nice reaction!
My sister took me to see E.W n F in the Superdome,1976.. my first concert, and first time smelling herb! Very memorable show they are!
One of the all time greatest songs!
Saw them in concert .. what a party, brilliant night
Philip Bailey coming in with his falsetto was absolutely amazing.
Hello 👋 I’m from Indonesia 🇮🇩 and I born around 90s they very popular in Indonesia 🇮🇩.
One of the best groups ever!
Watching you enjoy it made my day !! New to the channel. I’ve been binging some 😮 I love your trueness!
My sis' fav group!! Grew up on the early stuff, so many good tunes. Enjoy!! 😊
I graduated high school in 1981! I was born in the perfect time! I am a lifetime drummer because of Neil Peart (Rush), Danny Seraphine (Chicago), and Steve Gadd! (many, many studio recordings. Inc...Paul Simon's "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover".
Boogie R&B . Great horns . Great music and dancing-our religion
This is the soundtrack to a new Disney thrill ride-gave me a renewed appreciation for this classic.
Nice choice for a first listen, their catalog is very deep and all incredible. Next up I'd suggest Let's Groove; then Shining Star, Boogie Wonderland, Sing A Song, and on and on. Honestly, EW&F are real fire. Great reaction!
Their horn section is AMAZING. Maurice White is AMAZING! THEY are amazing! Their name 'Earth, Wind & Fire' comes from the band members' astrological signs. For example, Maurice White is a Sagittarius, so his element is Fire. Very deep. Please do more of their songs in the future, Salvo.
One of my favorite 70's and Earth, Wind and Fire song. Great groove, can't help but move. Song was on the Animated movie Trolls
"September" is an all time classic. it's one of those songs that when EWF plays it at their concerts , everybody gets up to groove to these guys. It joins "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang" and "YMCA" by the Village People" as songs that are still popular to this day.
Ah, the 70's were simpler times in many ways. This was a huge hit when I was in high school. Disco was at it's height. Saturday Night Fever was a huge influence. There were a lot of high school dances. My friends and I would practice in one of their garages that they used as a family play room. This was one of my favorite songs to dance to. You could do great things with it. You could be right on the beat or you could easily dance at half time and sort of slow stroll through the song or mix it up.
I always love your reactions because you just love music and it shows. Thanks.
The singer/dancer wearing all yellow is Philip Bailey and he had a solo career. He also sang a song he wrote with Phil Collins called Easy Lover, and it is a song everyone likes - a lot like this one. It's a video of them making a video and it's fantastic. :)
One of my favorites! So fun to roller skate to back in the 70s! ❤
I'd say you were born in the right time. These days, so much great music is more accessible than it's ever been, and there is a LOT of it.
Bro , They have many , another great one is Lets Groove and Fantasy
One of my favorite songs EVER
In retrospect I was so fortunate to grow up with music like this. We took it for granted, it was ordinary, every day…believe it or not.
I love the cha, cha, cha at the end, love it.
In 1978, I was stationed in a base in the Jordan River Valley. The only TV and radio we had reception for was from Jordan. One weekend, they showed a full live performance of EWF from this period. I remember that during a bass solo, the basist was suspended sideways in the air, above the stage, as he was playing! A great band and show!
Wow!!! Great memory
During the late 70's through the mid 80's us rockers generally hated most other genres of music (particularly disco). But even in these times the two groups that were quite universally respected were Earth, Wind, And Fire and Tower of Power. They were just that good!
When you think about it there was a lot of "happy" music in the old days.
My favorite and my very first concert ever at Madison Square Garden.
I had this single when I was a kid
