I've got a 7.1 setup and don't think I've ever heard it demonstrated so well.
Jeff DeWitt ya out of all these videos this one actually accurately produces sound to each of my individual 7.1 speaker system which isn’t a cheap system to be honest.
That’s right, this is a binaural audio rendering through stereo.
Same got that vr jbl headphones today to use easy to install just plug and play
How much did it cost
AAC 2.0 on UA-cam and your sound system at home does the rest. Aka upscale to 5.1/7.1 etc.. so more a reflection on your home AV amps quality!

The dtsX 5.1 effect works flawlessly via Stereo RCA signal via my DAC signal on my PC using my 5.1 surround setup!

I hope you didn't base your speaker placement off this. Not only is this not DTS:X, it's not even 7.1, 5.1 or anything else. It's just Stereo because that's all UA-cam supports. You need to find actual surround content, none of which can be found on UA-cam as it doesn't (and has never) supported it, despite all the confusing videos being uploaded by people who should know better.

of all of the 5.1 demo's I have listened to this was the very best ! I have a Asus Xonar DX going into a Sony STR-DE675
and I bought a SPDIF jack to toslink optical cord and while it showed up in SOUND as something was happening, I
could never listen to it. I had a 7.1 Logitech Speaker system and while it was nice, the speakers were small
and I bought nice BOSE 5.1 speakers and I just went and bought some cords that that the jack goes into the
computer sound card and the other end are tip and ring rca jacks. I have it hooked up to multi in but now
I cant get DTS or other nice settings. Seems like when I got older, I am now as able to do things
as when I was in My late 20's.
This is the best test so far and pretty good at that too. All others has been kind of fake or not working, where a simple test say "this is your Right rear channel" but everything is in the front. Some seem to be channel separated but you cannot actually know/hear as it is all a jumble of sounds where all speakers sound at the same time. Thanks for this video. BTW can you answer me this why the sound options only show me 2 channels but still this test shows that I do have real surround?
Dolby Pro Logic. The channels are encoded into a stereo signal using polarity and volume. Like when a signal on the left has a reversed polarity compared to a signal on the right and its volume is exactly 50% difference, it is extracted from the stereo channels and put on the left back speaker (and vice versa). A signal with identical volume and polarity (mono sound) is extracted from the stereo channels and put to the front center speaker. And so forth.

UA-cam doesn't support DTS X codec so this is not full quality of DTS Virtual X
it also does not support any other multichannel besides plain basic compressed 5.1
DTS-X needs a hardware decoder, unlike Dolby Atmos which needs a software decoder and some real fast DSP chips. never to old to learn i guess.
Sure youtube just using vorbis codec...
this just explementation
it does not matter, its just stereo sound that is mixed to have the DTS sound. so it works in youtube perfectly well... you only need these codecs if you are turning real 7.1 multichannel sound into these 2 channel surround sounds
In Windows 10, right click the speaker icon, and then check the box next DTSHeadphone:X or Dolby Atmos if you have purchased either of them; if not, you can try Winodws Sonic. I was skeptical - however, having learned a lot more about this technology I realise this is the real-deal and it's far better than 7.1 Corsair Void Headphones, which cost £100 ... yet some £5 amazon ear bud produce more accurate surround (obviously lacking any presence, bass or clarity though; still cheaply made earphones compared to well-made headphones with decent drivers; but PURELY based on spatial surround, it's real and the paradigm has shifted; it's no longer based on encoding ... and having 5 discrete Audio channels; that's an old system. Although I Did enjoy it because it worked well with speakers.... Gigaworks 7.1 speakers spaced around a room properly, 1-3 metres away from you - in front, behind, at the sides, and at the rear angles, would result in DEFINITE AND OBVIOUS surround sound, because each speaker activated if that channel had audio.... Linkin Park: Reanimation the DVD-A (DVD audio album) sounded incredible with home surround theatre.
UA-cam! We support 8k video but only stereo sound.
headphones are awesome, but nothing compares to hearing this kind of thing on a true 7. or 9. system in a room with true up and down and all around precision.

I have a 5.1 home theater and works perfectly, I didnt knew UA-cam had surround sound, altough, my AVR detect the sound as Dolby Pro Logic II and not DTS.

If you pick up a decent headset, dolby sound unbound will automatically find the best drivers for that device, and a license for the headphone X software if its available for your headset. This software stopped alot of weird stuttering i was experiencing in games with the default G-hub for logitech for my 7.1. Dont regret the decision at all and dont blame the company making the headphones either for being outdone in software when it comes to a company that made their drivers.

Strange aint it? Iots of test that doesn't work that seems legit. Even those vids you download from DTS is F upped
it's ONLY 5.1 when the video was uploaded via a 5.1 or 7.1 uncompressed MKV. MP4 and others don't support 5.1+ as to the reason if someone uploads a mp4 in 720 or higher, it's not true 5.1 at that point, but your AV receiver decoding it to 5.1+. Just like this video was uploaded as a 5.1 720p 60fps MKV, which WILL play 5.1 or higher...

@@coppercanyonhealth4594 I have a DTS:X and Atmos setup under 9.2.4 running a 13.2 amplifier and this video only plays out of 5.1 (technically 5.2 with my shared woofer) channels. So technically it is a 5.1 video, but it is not in the format of DTS:X because when running DTS:X pure direct mode (no filtration or equalization, just using the the videos compression and channel rating) it only plays out of my Left front,Right front, and center speakers. If it was a true DTS:X track then while in DTS:X(Neural) mode the amplifier would play through at least 5.1, but it doesn't.

Dolby Atmos is a much more capable format than DTS: X used on disc, currently. At its best home Dolby Atmos is 24.1.10 and DTS: X is 7.1.4. Both immersive formats can do full frequency effects.

Lol. My phone has a DTS:X 3D Surround feature and I can't hear the difference. I can't figure out why.
It's just downmixed to Dolby ProLogic.
That's why you can ear rear channels from a stereo source.
Actually, it is Downmixed to Dolby Pro Logic II as it has separate rear Surround channels, Pro Logic (I) has only FL CNT FR and REAR + LFE (4.1) while PL II has FL CNT FR SL SR + LFE (5.1)

Can I hear True DTSx here on you tube on mr 7.1.4 Sround system. i.e. Doesn't YT do something to the file.
I have 5.1 surround sound, but for whatever reason when playing UA-cam sound videos I only get sound from my front speakers.
O.K. I just tried using Microsoft Edge and it works, so this is a Chrome issue.
Also tried in Internet Explorer, looks like IE has the same issue as Chrome with the added issue of not playing sound through the Sub Woofer.
Set my receiver to DTS Neo:6 and it sounds pretty sick.

Creo que Dolby Atmos tiene una mejor emulación del sonido en 3D, para mí Dolby Atmos suena mucho más realista y se nota más el movimiento de los objetos en 3D por lo menos usando audifonos. Con DTS X no he logrado obtener esa experiencia. Y si es que UA-cam no soportaba DTS, no tiene sentido poner este contenido. Saludos.

in 2024 this does actually work on my system. I turn on 'geek' mode and I see it is streaming opus (251) codec which technically carries a stereo signal. I mauallyset my receiver to DTS:X mode and everything is properly virtualised in my 7.1.4 speaker setup. I have actual speakers, not headphones. It does NOT work if my receiver isnot set to DTS:X. Your hardware probably has a lot of individual settings that can mess with it working properly. Make sure you use passthru if available and turn off all other upmixers, downmixers and effects.

for samsung users, go to settings, tap sound or sound notification, tap sound quality and effects, then enable sound alive+. This can help you experience surround sound, if you don't have then sorry. For samsung users only.
I have samsung s10 basic but no sound alive unfortunately.
@@zaltmanbleroze Wait you don't need sound alive+ especially new samsung phones because some new samsung phones have dolby atmos. I think you have dolby atmos, Just drag down the notification panel then enable dolby atmos. Its only enable when you plug in your earphones
You can select Auto, Music, Movie, Voice and Etc. in Settings. Just tap sound and vibrations or sound, then tap sound quality and effects then tap Dolby Atmos. For more emmersive experience you can enable Adapt sound to make it feel like you're in the video, game, movie and etc. , you can choose or create you're sound profile to suite your hearing experience. thx for listening ☺👍

For those who have new Samsung phones. For 2017- 2018 Samsung phones There's a chance you wil get Dolby atmos and for 2019 - 2020 Samsung phones you will get Dolby atmos. You can enable it from notification panel, only when you plugged in you earphones or you connect you wireless earphones.

this sounds so good on the Logitech g935 headset with the DTS x 2.0 setting on!
I must be missing something. Got my Z906 speakers, if I download this file from the DTS sample page it works great and sounds amazing.. playing it via UA-cam just plays as stereo, it moves between left and right but plays the same level front and back. This is even after purchasing the DTSX stuff. Anyway its confusing as sounds no where near as good as the version you download from DTS which plays as expected.
The UA-cam player just decodes and plays back flat stereo, the DTS sample audio plays back in 5/7.1 discretely so you hear each channel individually.
