When I was starting to skate, it was really hard to get up because no one taught me how😭 Edit- Holy chicken nuggets…. 100 likes! That’s the most I have ever gotten!
WAAAAA UR SO PRETTYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! You are also super inspiring for me to start skating, i want to but I thought I was too old then i saw one of your vids and i am inspired very much love it!!!❤❤
You remind me of my friend who is super good at figure skating. Your grace on the ice is always showing with everything you do. With the level of perseverance you have, I can easily tell that soon you will be able to do any skill that you try!
reminds me of my basic roller skating training 😮 i know they’re very different, but i’ve always wanted to ice skate and i think my roller skating skills might help me!
Thank you for the steps bc i am gonna go ice skating tomorrow and dont know how to ice skate and this video gave me some tips on how to ice skate! Thank you very mich for this vid!
Hello!!i have a tip for ur sit spin so u should maybe try to start ur sit spin lower bc that might be easier for ur sit spin to be lower!hope this helps
When doing forward swizzles, please please please remember to bend your knees, i can't even fathom how many times i fell on my butt when i first started skating
When I was learning, my teacher taught me to skate forward by telling me to walk like a duck. It’s really effective for teaching the push and glide movement.
When I first had skating lessons, they literally made us do slip n slide on our knees and get up. My friend had bloody knees and was wailing like a baby.😂 can’t blame her tbh.
I tried skating. Figure skating. I was in junior development and I thought I was doing good. I practiced my cross cuts at home, I did off ice, I worked on my spinner, and everything else I thought would help. I ended up having to do another year of junior development. I was mad but not extremely. I repeated everything but harder. This year I got my hand out and my instructor is making me stay in junior development. I gave up now. I can’t skate. Sometimes there so ruing on you.
This is giving me ptsd Story time: my mom and dad made me take up ice skating even though I didn’t want to, but my opinion doesn’t matter i guess. So the place they took me to was way over crowded, so while everyone was done with classes they just let everyone free skate (about 40 or more people all ranging from bad toddlers and pro teenagers) On my second class or third one i was skating and then there were a bunch of people (one kid dubbed the name “The Wrecking Ball” because they went way too fast) and i basically had to dodge a bunch of kids and adults, this eventually led to me falling down very very hard on my tailbone and I couldn’t get up, walk, or sit down properly for the next 4 days, i’m fine now, but I can’t sit down directly on my tailbone and i can’t do sit-up’s without a lot of padding on the ground TLDR: i fell on my ass really hard and now I can’t do certain stuff
Then there’s the shortcut where you don’t have to learn to skate but you do have to learn to rollerblade, which is not a shortcut at all, but does seem to work. Disclaimer: this doesn’t work the other way apparently, likely because a skater won’t be used to the friction
When you get up make sure that your in a fist bc someone could accidentally skate over your fingers, it happened to my ice skating coaches friend one time ❤
the heels to toe thing i can do it but sometimes when i do my legs just won’t go back to the middle so i’m in a split position but not touching the ice.
Once I try ice skating, they just give me a few unclear instructions, so I just really get stuck in the safety bar. But I complete Step 1 several times. I also give my self a cut in my hand that didn't feel or notice until I untied the skates and saw blood in my hand.
I don't get the marching bit 😅 I used to ice skate when I was younger and was never taught that part, I'm going to be helping my daughters class ice skating next month so I'm scared to fall🤣 will the marching help?
I’m going ice skating with my bestie for her birthday and can’t wait to go anything that I should practice with her ? ( I can skate with wheels and feel like it is similar but I need to know what to do and what not cus I know they are different)
not trying to be rude at all or come off as it but you might wanna close your fingers when getting hurt because if someone is skating and doesn't see you might get your fingers cut!
brooooo I have the same problem and my coach told me it's because I use my toepick to push and that if I don't correct it, it's gonna affect my progress in skating 😢 @@Ariex_xox
Instructions unclear
I am currently being dragged behind the zamboni 😂

My child hood dream when I started skatin!

I am so glad to see your tutorials, I am 77yr and can do all you have shown after trying so hard for 10 months. Thank you so much.
Also forward snowplow stops are so useful. It’s the first thing you should learn once you’ve learned how to skate.
When you are in a public place with other people, make fists whenever you put your hands on the ice. It’s to help stop your fingers from getting cut off.
Never thought of that 💀
My biggest fear😢
The fall 🥰 just remembered how yuzu said when teaching that it's okay to fall, make sure to get up after.
I got the falling part down… that’s it
youre one step closer! 😂
I’m a figure skating coach and this is exactly what we teach kids who just joined keep up the good work
wym? ur like a young teen
Ya and I coach little kids to skate

This was actually really useful. Ty for this !!
When I first started this really helped, thanks so much! :)
I’m actually early!!

You encouraged me to ice skate again

I just love that do put Bob Marley as the background music that's what made me subscribe to you❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I actually got to level four at figure skating I’m so exited!!!
I love your vids Sofia!

tip: bend your knees a little for more stability!
Can you please teach me some tips for an upright spin?
Omgg this is so amazing to see I started figure skating when I was ten but I had to take a break cuz I had a fall😢
Can u show us how to stop? Thank you!❤❤
When I was learning, my teacher taught me to skate forward by telling me to walk like a duck. It’s really effective for teaching the push and glide movement.
Also, keep you hands on the ice until both knees are off the ice, then push yourself up

can you do tips on how to get your foot over on starch spin? im really stuggling😭
As a ballet dancer I've always wanted to try figure skating, but I know it's going to be wayyy more difficult than I think XD
I kinda just full send and hope I don’t die. I gotta relearn every year and I only go once every year trying not to die
THIS WAS EXACTLY THE SAME ORDER WE DID IN MY FIRST EVER FIGURE SKATE LESSON!!!
This is giving me ptsd

Step one is the most important. Being afraid to fall over will inhibit you from progressing. It happened to me for 2 months😅😅
Im at the ice rink right now 💙
I know how to skate but I recently got new ones and it was like I was learning to skate again😂
As a medium ice skater at first I was TAUGHT NOTHING AT ALL me and my sister basically taught ourself until our parents put us to ice skating

Okay but this does cover the things that happen to a beginner 😂
this is helpfull
Earlier I started my 1st skating lessons.. I'm going back to practice in 30 mins 😅
It’s like rollerskating, so the first time when I did it, I have to do steps
When I was skating they taught us to never put our hands in front of us when getting up. I don’t remember how they taught us though
I swear i jst used my roller blading skills when ice skating 😂
My biggest problem is that I can go reasonably fast but I have no idea how to stop :D
And stayyyy near the wall!! Rule one for those scared to fall!! Lmaoo😂
Will I have to do almost all these steps if I know how to skate? Not ice skate but like skate I have a one line skate so will that work orr..
I'm going ice skating on the 6th of January Saturday 😊❤😢😮😅😂
We call swizzles fishy’s were I live
My left foot is always stuck like a wall, it never cooperates and never moves
I was taught by Park Sunghoon and I can do beginners skating without people helping me hehe 😁
#sunghoon_figureskater
😊
Can you do one for intermediate?
Is it the same as roller skating? ❤
I tried falling down on ice 3 years ago and broke my leg in half lol
Is it similar to rollerskating? (The movement concept at least)
as someone in marching band, when you said march, i got super confused-
where do you skate? :)
I don't get the marching bit 😅 I used to ice skate when I was younger and was never taught that part, I'm going to be helping my daughters class ice skating next month so I'm scared to fall🤣 will the marching help?
NOW I WANT TO ICE SKATE BUT IM ON VACAY
I know this is incredibly late, but does this also work for roller skates?
Not me going to a ice skating rink for a field trip in 2nd grade and being a natural after 1 fall😂😂
We raced and guess who won😂
They forced us to fall down at skating practice a while ago 😂
Is it almost the same as roller blades
I really wanna ice skate but my mom won't let me
I learnered how to skate from peppa pig 😭✋🏼, push push glideeee push push glideeee
Where do you skate

the one im wearing is from Nike !

OK, but how do I stop?
Thanks but im still so intimidated 😭
I keep leaning forward but somehow balance so I don't fall. Anyway to fix this or any tips
Bend your knees and don’t look down at the ice! looking down will pull your body down/forward
Fall to the side
We call swizzles, bubbles cuz the look like bubbles
O this is exactly what my dad paid 100 for me to do (lessons) but in a like 40 second video
Step 1. get other ice
Step 2.
Just be good at it? Idk I can just do it.
So it’s just like realy skating just a little diffrent so ur basically using roller blades
Demmmm cheeeeeeekkkks gurrllll
How do you not fall on your toepick
fall to the side, also if you feel like you going to fall bend your knees and put you hands on your knees
@@ixxypink1853 it's like, when I'm skating (which is very slow by the way) I tend to always hit my toe pick and it trips me up
