I just installed this and like others that bought it (look at reviews on HDs website) I had multiple bolts break. Both the lags and 1/4-20 screws are made of the softest metal imaginable. Bought new 5/16" lag bolts and bought new Grade 8 1/4-20 (3/4") long bolts from Tractor Supply ( you can buy by the pound there). Another bad area of design on this product is the single 1/4-20 bolt attaching the vertical bars to the ceiling mounts. 2 5/16 lags on each mount and 2 screws everywhere else, but this one section only has 1 1/4" bolt. WEAK POINT. Add another bar to one of the slots of the ceiling mount and have it angle down to an unused hole in the vertical bars to strengthen this connection.
Check out Rubbermaid fast track wall mount for hanging tools, bikes, ladders, etc and getting things off the floor. My Mt Bike hangs on my wall via this system
Original plan was to install two of these shelves that ran all the way across the garage near where my electrical box was and that sticks out over 4inches from the other wall. I wanted these shelves to line up together. I had already set the lag bolts for the one side and realized that I didn't have enough room to mount the next shelve over. I didn't want to redo the ones that I already did so I left them where they were. It's not a problem for me, but if I had to do it over again, I would have mounted much closer to the wall.
I did take a closer look at the shelves and you're right. There's a slight dip in the middle, about half an inch, to be exact. It's not an illusion created by the wide angle camera lens. The shelves are designed to hold up to 600 pounds, and I'll admit, I was pushing that limit initially. I've since redistributed some items, lightening the load by about 50 to 100 pounds. Personally, I'm not too worried about it. However, I'm keeping an eye on it, especially the shelf's middle and the points where it's secured to the ceiling. It's a good practice to periodically check the stability of installations like this one.

Absolutely! Just be cautious with the container weight - heavy ones can be tough to take down and put back up.
