    Hello. I lived in Bangkok for three years renting condos. This was in two different buildings. I’m thinking of moving back to Thailand . Considering Hua Hin.
    I understood the law in Thailand is that condos cannot be rented short term. Similar to a hotel room. I’m guessing the same rules
    apply in Hua Hin.

    Nice video! Thanks for sharing la casita! It’s one of the airbnbs I’ve booked for our fam for 2025, looks beautiful! 👌 I love the location although it’s a but far from the cicada market, did you ever walk there?
    I also noticed that 2 week rental was same price as 1 month! Did your hosts ask you to pay any extra fees like electricity for the month?

    • @fulltimeabroad
      @fulltimeabroad  6 місяців тому +1

      Thank you!
      It is a bit of walk, and we actually walked there a few times. Its not so bad in the evening when the heat has gone. It took about 30 minutes. We tried walking along the beach to Cicada, big mistake because the tide get up to the walls of the houses/hotels and then you need to find a path back to the main road lol. If I remember correctly, a grab is about 100 baht. You can take the songthaew, which I believe is 15 baht per person. We usually took a grab or songthaew back (if they were still running)
      1 month sometimes get you a monthly discount, so it could be the same price as two weeks., depends on the host. We didn't have to pay any extra fees thankfully. We'll be there in January.

    • @bluestarfishsea
      @bluestarfishsea 6 місяців тому +1

      @@fulltimeabroad Thks for sharing. Yes the monthly discount is amazing, certainly more than covers any extra transportation costs. I love walking everywhere but in the heat my 3 kids do not 😂. Have you found that grabs are easily available in hua hin without much wait?

    • @fulltimeabroad
      @fulltimeabroad  6 місяців тому +1

      For the most part, grab was ok. I believe there were a couple times where we had to wait 10+ minutes (in the grab app, looked like the driver didn't know where they were going, not sure lol). We didn't use it much because the Songthaew's covered most of the routes for us, mainly the green one. It takes you to the cicada and tamarind market, and goes the other way as well to the center/night market area.

    I am presently staying at LaCosita, I have tried in vain to extend for 50 days to no avail.. Reception at LaCasita will not communicate with me and refers me to a Booking agent whom I originally booked months ago and paid then Bt950 a day for 7 days, so it sounds like B/S to me. I now have an equal facility for only one-third of the booking company's price and just as good for 50 days not far away. My only contact with the owner of the condo is through LaCasita reception and that is not forthcoming. I was happy to pay the advertising fee here...Their loss.
    PS ...The hot plates do not work they say I have to contact the owner to have them fixed but???, they make that impossible. They don't give out owners' names.

    Good job on the video, you guys! But a bit of a weird Singapore/North Korea authoritarian vibe: Cannot eat, drink, or smoke in public areas, lotsa rules publicly posted, AND oddly the space under the sink is under lock & key? (What!?! I have visited 60+ countries and never seen that...) Disclosure: I lived in Hua Hin the first year of my retirement (2005) but it seemed to be MUCH MORE more relaxed then - I wonder what has happened?

      The unit we were in was an airbnb, so they locked it, I guess, because they keep supplies in their. It didn't bother us and honestly we didn't need the space thankfully.
      Not sure why you can't eat at those picnic style tables, it was weird for us as well, but the place is impeccably clean. There are designated smoking areas far away from the common areas and as non smokers, it's amazing not to be bothered by the smell. Also, let's be honest, most people ash and throw their cigarettes on the ground, so the fact it's not allowed in the common areas means there is no cigarette rubbish anywhere. I think if you come in person you'll feel a totally different vibe. It's very quiet and clean and nobody bothers you.
