I have been sick this week and I needed to watch you find some scrap and treasure. When you found the French Quarter sign it brought me home,and I like the idea of giving a reused item for a garage sale why do we think the gifts we give have to be new.

Paul, it is the most disgustingly selfish human trait to be angry about someone else gaining by receiving what we do need or use. I was recently in Australia during COVID and I was disgusted by the local government stickers on hard rubbish saying that it must be picked up my the authorities and may not be picked by anyone else. Taking this rubbish would be considered theft. What kind of shallow, selfish, stuck-up kind of creep would prevent these things being of use to someone else? I did know a woman in the 80's who did pavement picking and had a monthly yard sale. It always made me laugh when you'd hear "oh look there's our blah blah" 😅. Keep up the excellent work Paul. You are amazing.

Greetings, Paul! 🙋🏼♀️ I have been without a phone for 3 weeks and just got back. Long story. Having a good time playing catch-up with a S&P Man Marathon. Congratulations on reaching 239K subs! The lighthouse you didn’t take was a candle holder you could purchase from PartyLite. The top was missing and probably broke. My Mom had one. Your timing finding the Nagel piece was a wink from the universe. Today happens to be Patrick Nagel’s birthday. He passed when he was 38 years old after participating in an “aerobothon” not knowing he had congenital heart issue. I had his pictures all over one of my apartments back in the day. Oliver is adorable! Remember: Dog is God spelled backwards! Take care!

I agree with going green. My parents have both passed and I have my mother's old miniatures and vintage jewelry and my father's ties and things like that. I am making each of my grand children ornaments out of my mother's old make-up compacts, miniatures and jewelry. And I am making my son's ornaments out of my father's old keys and nuts and bolts. I also made quite a few Christmas decorations out of things just sitting around in my garage. I am finding using what I have on hand brings out my best creativity. I have gotten the rest of my gifts at garage sales and DG penny shopping.

So much stuff that could be reused goes into the landfills, just the little bit you get out helps
Finally had my thanksgiving today, yeah, I'm regretting it lol two plates of great food and a plate of cookies, that I think is what got me, all that sugary goodness, put me right in to the proverbial food coma , got to see most of the family so it was all good, now for the next holiday, and getting to smell all the goodies being baked is going to make me gain twenty pounds 😅
We go on a winter weather advisory at 1 am and it lasts until 7 am Monday. The weather guessers are saying we are due for 3-6" of snow. Good thing we finally pulled our ACs and put up the last 2 storm windows a couple days ago. Stay safe, warm & well.

Paul, that is a humidifier. I have one and it works great. As soon as it gets cold, my house gets so dry. It makes it easier to breathe.

Yup Here in the UK you need permission from the Company before taking items from a Skip (Dumpster) most small businesses are quite happy for you to do so as they pay a fixed fee for the hire, but most scrapping these days is curbside. However one good thing is that any food that at one time would be ruined before it was put in a dumpster now goes to charities if it is still good.
The company cannot give permission for anyone to remove anything from a skip .. legally anything in the skip belongs to the skip owner ..
You are a good and kind man. I bet the little cooler got pitched due to smell rather than cooling issues.

I spent my honeymoon in New Orleans and had a blast. It was completely dead, and we had the run of the place! Our cart driver was Charlie, and our horse was Millie. He took us every and anywhere we wanted to go! He even took us down through the grave yards and told us about the tombs and why they bury the bodies in them. It's because when you get to 3feet down, you hit water! We sang with the bands and ate everything! We rode on the Cajun Queen and taught some old people how to dance! 😂❤

Brick houses are so common around here in the Blue Ridge Mts. of Va ,I can't imagine houses not being brick. We have so much red clay that bricks are made here not far from my house. My son is even a Brick Mason. I live in a brick house!

I buy and sell from Marketplace mainly vacuum cleaners I find dumpster diving that I clean and restore. Unfortunately corporate America is never going to change as people are constantly wanting more and more.

I've been thinking about how much curb gold I would want to keep if I had room and I think boy I sure wish I could keep all the stuff Paul leaves behind or I could donate it. And then I think about how much time it would take to pick all that yard sale debris and what do you do with it if Goodwill doesn't want it yikes. You see what you can save and you don't sweat about the other I guess. I just think about all this stuff you've saved off the curb and how many car doors out there owe their new life to you.

Sorry Paul; I can't "do" Ratt. I've tried. I do my CHristmas shopping at estate sales, church rummage sales, etc. Thou Shalt Not Pay Rack Rate. Except for chocolate, and I get that at a regional job lot store. Anything I get cheap enough or that I can't use gets donated elsewhere.

Unreal…we just put up a fence for our 2 Yorkies and it was the 3 the same fence panels that you just loaded. Price? $43.98 each and we needed 17 of them! Plus the post and a gate…not cheap!

Its all good not to support the big corporate but you have to remember the people that work in those places are 95% local your friends and neighbors that just like you are trying to make a living You are right the big guy on top does not need the 4th house but the cashier stocker salespeople waitress do need that job to have rent food nessaties of life . Everything starts new somewhere sometime and at some point someone will benefit from it at least once.

in germany it is the rule as soon someting is in the dumpster it belogs to the company that emptys the dumpster or if something is on the curbe it belongs to the company that picks up the trash in this neiberhood

Is there places that recycle plastic and pay also? I heard it takes forever for plastic to decompose in nature and the landfills, so plastic recycling would be great for the environment. thanks for another great video, god bless
I wish. Plastic degrades every time it's recycled so it's essentially worth nothing. It's the big lie the big oil companies have been pushing for decades
