I have 3 of them! I just changed the light and replaced the sponge with a much larger one for more beneficial bacteria. I don't use the filter cartridge. I also cut a small slit in the pump tubing to get water to flow in the back chamber to keep it from being stagnant. I purchased them on Amazon. The price goes up and down, so I would just wait for a cheaper price.
I may have to get another one! Loving this one so far too!

What is that part in the middle of the black panel? I thought it was a water intake.
No heater lol,but ive seen people buy a nano filter and putting it in the back area,and voila no unsightly filter to look at and water flow heat the water equally...🧐🤓🥳

Yep. I recommend setting it near the left side also a heater I recommend is the aqueon preset heater 100W :)

100 watt? Why? Will the heater fit in the space with the pump.
@@billschue3466 100W for more temperature control depending on the climate where the tank is. The heater will fit in the space in the back. Its also the most recommended heater from what i’ve seen in my research
