I get so emotional every time I find something. It’s a feeling like no other. Just watching y’all makes me feel it. Lol I’m SO HAPPY for your finds. And, Zach, I keep everything too. If it’s worked, it comes home with me. PS- high, level ground, out of the flood plain is always a great place to look. I would dig everywhere out there.

That big Rick at the spring definitely is a ancient work bench. They used those to shape and sharpen axes, celts and especially bone tools like awls, needles and bone fishing hooks among others. In 57 years of hunting and digging artifacts I've never see on that large. That almost always means a very large village site and multi cultural spanning hundreds or more likely thousands of years. You need to go back up that hill and dig some test pits. I believe that's where the bulk of the village was located. You done got a killer site.👍☮️😁 ( ROCK)

@@ZachByrd Just one more thing. When you go up the hill look for large fire pits. They'll have sandstone that has turned reddish and will be broken at 45° angles. This is the village center. Then work your way out from there. Good luck brother, not that you're going to need it.👍☮️

I would definitely look at the top of banks on each side of the spring where it meets the river. And when it warms up, I would wade and sift the mouth of it. I wondered about the lines on that big rock in the previous. And so far as whether to stay by the spring or explore the pasture, the spring is too good to leave for greener pastures yet, I'm surprised that there's SO much material where you're at. As pretty as that place is I'm surprised there's even any chips, it's not like where you're at is in the wilderness! But sometime when ya'll can jump on 515 N and drive up here to Union Co. and I'll show you what 60+ years of having 'it' really bad looks like. There's another rabbitthole that I won't speak about here but I'll shoot you an email sometime in the next week and describe some of the details of what I've come into over the past 25 or so years, This is the first time I've mentioned this in public and I do know no one else has been down this trail and I'll show you where this is and you then can come and go as you please because the property is owned by everybody. I'm being for real Zach, I'll be in touch! Nice point Zach! looks like turkey hunting this spring may get a little less attention from you! Priorities have a way of getting in the way!

That spring is visited by nearly everyone that floats the river. It’s a very well known spot. I’d be careful on showing too much of what I find there. You’ll have people all over it. There are too many people in that area that don’t ask for permission to arrowhead hunt. I’ve had to deal with plenty of them. On another note, I was told that at some point in history there was a ferry to cross the river in that area. Y’all are finding some nice stuff. Imagine if that field was plowed.. Good luck to y’all.

We've talked to the owners and since posting the first video we're debating on hanging cell cameras along the river bank, especially above the spring. I've been on this river my entire life and I'm not only aware but appreciative of your insight into the river traffic here. I'm just thankful to have gotten permission to dig and to hopefully keep unwarranted folks away. Also, I've been aware of your channel for years. We should meet up sometime. I'm surprised we haven't crossed paths by now.

@@ZachByrd Sounds good. I lost my good property to hunt on, so I haven’t had the opportunity to do any videos in a while. I have just picked up another in the last few days. Hoping it has enough on it to start back up. We should meet up sometime. Too close not to.

Theres a creek next to our family farm full of arrow heads, as kids I found a half a point and 10-15min later down the creek a ways my sister found another half and they fit together perfectly. Now what the hell are the chances of that happening? Lol

    • @thegeorgiacreekwalker491

That’s cool, my brother found two halves to the same Quartz point last year, he didn’t realize till the next day when he placed them together, I glued it back together with gorilla glue lol, it looks sloppy but I got it back together, it’s about 5 inches long, smoky Quartz spearhead.
