The team that Poppa Lloyd played for was the Johnson AllStars, they were owned by Nucky Johnson. In 1933, the team won the league championship, and Poppa's pitcher a young boy aged 22 years old pitched a NO HITTER against 22 men, his name was Homer Chambers, Poppa was corted by the NY Black Yankees, he said he would go, if his pitcher came with him. So he and Homer went to NY, Homer was my Dad, Poppa was Uncle Poppa, and so it was.....In the Boardwalk Empire.....

Oh, yes, my family and I attend, they honor many of the old players there, and there is also a church service for them.
