These photos give context to the times we lived through, my parents born the 1920's, their parents in the very late 1800's ... my brothers and I from 1947-1960. It helps me remember the times of our lives as so very much has changed and sometimes it is easy to forget that!
Funny thing is I used to work on the 46th floor of a Manhattan building overlooking Central Park and I was fine. I've also lived in several high-rises and gone on rooftops. None of that bothers me because I have floors and windows. These guys out on thin beams in the open elements, that's a very different story ... I walked over the Royal George bridge in Colorado Springs and the gaps in the boards made me nervous at first but I got used to it. I think I have selective acrophobia ...lol
Those two blizzards are something else. Of course the one in the Midwest was stronger, but that one in New York City must have been crippling. I lived there as a child, and sometimes it snowed pretty heavily. They don't show it much in pictures or on TV because they have a cultivated image for the city. Still, snowplows go through the streets in Manhattan every winter that I know of. They just had some pretty generous snowfall there.
That little girl and the penguin! 😆🥹 If possible. Could you find any old pictures of Michael Jackson????? I absolutely love your videos. No matter what I see, I can always visualize and hear what it must’ve been like during that time. Good, bad, wholesome, heartbreaking, defeat, victorious. It feels good just as much as it hurts, but I don’t regret it. The music choices on the piano grabs me every time like it explains each picture without words. ✨💕
I do have a couple of MJ photos in other videos but I can't remember which ones. Ill try to find them and post a link here... Or i'll look for some fresh rare photos. Thank you for you lovely words re the music.Much appreciated. Links to all albums can be found at www.markbulmer.com
Very … I’m fine indoors and actually worked on the 46th floor of a building in Manhattan with floor to ceiling windows. That was fine. But what these people do outside ? … NOPE !
Awesome photographs and beautiful music, nice work.
Thank you so much 😀
What an excellent adventure through the world in black and white. People never change.

Great choice of photos 😎
Glad you like them!
Fascinating as always. But the "Nope" ones make me shudder. Lovely music, too! Thanks. 😊
Me too ... I have to put one up every week just to remind me that I live and work on the ground.
@@AmazingHistoricalPhotosMark, I've taken notice that you are not a person fond of heights, just saying!

Knife thrower and child are two things that should never go together.
TOTALLY AGREE! When I saw it I FREAKED out!
Ever been stuck with a screaming one on a plane at 35,000 ft? 😂

Blizzards of 1880 and 1930 which John Kerry should take note.
I lived in Manhattan for three winters, Then moved back to Florida. This was a great decision !

One day people will be looking at us through a device like ae are looking at them we are all mere mortals simply passing through
These days, someone would be calling child protective services upon seeing those monkeys (kids) climbing around and just having fun!
Whatever the hell it is, I won't no part of it !
The woman under the hair dryer. Now I know where they got the idea for Darth Vader.
The force is strong in that one.
Princess Leia, the early years.
The little girl watching her dad's acrobatics in 1940 might still be with us. If she was three years old there, she'd be eighty-seven now.
6:09. Its amazing that a beggar was allowed so near King George V!! That would not happen nowadays! 😮
Very different times. Security was almost non-existent back then.
@@AmazingHistoricalPhotos 👍. Yes you’re right!
The beggar running along the carriage - it looks like King George V is in the carriage.
I wonder if you’re acrophobic.
