- The Blades of Valor/Hangar Z Podcast team visited Hayward, California, recently at the invitation of EMU, Inc., also known as Huey Vets, for a flight in a beautifully restored UH-1 Huey helicopter with K9 Torque.
EMU, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose goals are to preserve the history of the Huey helicopter, honor the memory of all Vietnam veterans, and support veterans impacted by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) through camaraderie and contact with the organization’s iconic Huey Helicopter, known as EMU 309.
An important member of the EMU 309 Huey Vets team is a highly trained Belgian Malinois named Torque. When she isn’t fighting crime by locating cell phones and SD cards of sexual predators, this multi-talented canine is completing exposure therapy flights with veterans on the Huey.
Huey Vets and K9 Torque are on a mission to support veterans and raise awareness about PTSD. Read the full story about our visit to this organization at verticalmag.com.

This a gorgeous Huey. I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to the crew for a bit when they were at Petaluma Muni a few years ago.
Growing up in the 80s, they used to fly over my house from Selfridge to train. There is nothing like the sound of an inbound Huey!
This was a great and awesome opportunity to bring back the UH-1 Huey!! Thank you for your service to all : ARMY AVIATION
Glad you liked it!
To fly is heavenly to hover divine, rotary wing aviation there is simply no substitute. I worked with several Nam vets when I was in one guy was even Korea & Nam they were all a great group of people and I feel fortunate to have worked with them & learned from them. Thanks to all now serving, those who have, and those who will in the future. FLY NAVY!!!
I’m looking for a Huey to buy where do I look?
Great video a about a great initiative!
😎👍👍👍👍✌✌
All the preparation and then video work that must have gone into this, only to show us fast-forwarded sequences every 20 seconds. Why bother?
