During this year's European Rotors show in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, we spoke with Guardia di Finanza instructor pilot Marco Miele. He gave Jon Gray from the Hangar Z Podcast a tour of the Leonardo AW169 helicopter on display at Leonardo's booth.
Whilst the GDF are a militarized law enforcement agency, they fall under the authority of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, rather than the defense or interior ministries. They cover a wide range of missions from maritime patrol and customs and border monitoring to search and rescue and law enforcement.
