During the conquest of the Arab world.. Genghis khan fed the king a plate full of golds when his begging for food and water. And said you can't eat gold why are you hoarding it? Give it to your men so they can die for you. Cool story I love it.
It's funny how finding gold in America takes tons of work and excavating... meanwhile in Australia all it takes to find gold is a metal detector and a hand shovel.
Australias centre is mostly uninhabited and has only been mined with detectors for a very short period of time there is plenty of land that hasn't ever been detected and most of it is private land so it will never be mined
Down hill I can tell you I worked in a open cut gold mine in WA as a concreter , and part of your induction is about gold being just under the ground everywhere we walked and worked and if you came across any you were to hand it in straight away, it’s a FEDERAL offence if you steal it,
That 5k nugget looks to be about 80% iron. gl. tbh, the most interesting thing in this vid was the drama with leon. Its hard to find good mates like that. Even harder when they have to make a life change to support the family. Best of luck there.
I heard you could make dry samples with a leaf blower and 5 gal. Bucket with lid.Cutting hole for blow by, it can save time.Great show very entertaining!!!
2:33 I saw a glint. There you have a mattock, dig it ... be careful, grab that ... yep yep ...right there grab it I gotta hold this thing and keep talking
It is very hard to believe that they found five very large nuggets sitting on a dirt surface. Gold is heavy; with every rainstorm it would sink deeper and deeper until it hits bedrock. In the olden days their process would be called salting the mine. It does make good drama though.
Yes there is more quartz than gold, but if they sell it how it is, and not crush it, its more of a collectors item to the right person. Its called specimen gold. Its worth more that way and considered a gem stone.
I remember 1985 going through a tour of an old gold mine west of Melbourne they said that one day someone was digging and discovered a skeleton of a person who must have died from a mine cave in decades before.
One of the best TV shows at the mo. The WA outback is stunning. Vern seems like a top bloke as a partner or employer - honourable and loyal. That Marco geezer was an ass.
There's a lot of negative comments that's been posted for this video, but you can find gold nuggets as big as your fist in Western Australia, but keep in mind WA is bigger than the state of Texas and the ground is as hard as a rock, also there's not much water. The big nugget they found only had a coating of iron and probably alloyed with copper, maybe some silver, and maybe even some lead, it's still something like 14 or 18 karits, besides big nuggets fetch a premium as specimen pieces.
These guys are great typical keeping Australian. Traditions going I went on a working holiday to Australia from Yorkshire in the UK. These are great Australian s. No don't act like Americans some on the program do. Great program I never miss it at our tea time 5 p.m. ♥️🌏
yeah the nugget was mostly rock but gold has a density about 6 times that of the most rock.. means that if it is 75% rock then 2/3 of the weigh is gold. ok that gangue was hematite so that's a bit denser than normal rock but still
quest is owned by Discovery channel, why do you get so many Discovery channel ads during the ad breaks ?, because it is cheaper to own the channel than pay to advertise on someone elses channel.
Is that real?? I'm counting how many cameras surrounding them filming them is about four to five different cameras? and they have camera switcher as well! Damn!
I don't live in Australia but after watching these things on TV, if it's as easy as they make out, why hasn't there been some kind of California gold rush type situation happened, with half of Australia doing it, I live in Britain if I could just get a metal detector an go out and find gold like this everyday I would.. that's why I'm very sceptical of these programs
Find where ancient dinosaurs were and you'll coincidentally find pooped gold. Yukon miners were unwise to "ignore" finding a wooly mammoth tusk. Collossal ancient dino bodies above ground were petrified into rock as those underwater were compressed into oil. You can also see concentrations of gold ore by looking at Earth from space..
Joe Andrews solid as in one piece yes but far as a solid goldnugget. A solid goldnugget is as always only gold and there are many vids of those on youtube. This piece is almost only ironstone. Wonder what the ”banker” would say when you hand over that one and tell him you want the worth/weight of gold from it haha. This is a specie or what it is called, whit a bit if gold on it nothing more. The producer wants to hype and try to fool people.. just like Discovery channel or all other media this days.
Sweden have you done any gold prospecting yourself ?I very much doubt it but I have been prospecting for the last 11 years and I have found numerous pieces covered in ironstone which doesn't show much gold but once you leave it in hydrochloric acid for a few days the ironstone dissolves and leaves only the gold.Anyway I'm not going to try and convince you you believe whatever you want to believe.
I absolutely LOVE this program. I hope they all do well!
are they wearing camo so the gold won't see them?
Yes, you have to sneak up on it!
HM Dickson that is so true
LOL
If the gold sees you first you’ll be lucky to get out of there alive.
It’s a new tactic
Always cheers me up to see peoples eyes light up when they find a big nugget, fair reward for all the hard work and travails.
3:08 when he started crying.. It broke my heart even tho it's pure happiness. God bless ya
I'm really happy for this guy and his woman. I know how hard it is to find gold and he deserves it 🙂
i went looking in my backyard. Found a nugget of catpoop
Lmao
Me too
I went looking in my life, and found a nugget of a failure.
huh? What?

The most valuable thing was the WATER !!
During the conquest of the Arab world.. Genghis khan fed the king a plate full of golds when his begging for food and water.
And said you can't eat gold why are you hoarding it? Give it to your men so they can die for you.
Cool story I love it.
That much water probably costs more than the gold lol
Exactly
Pretty Deep comments
So pleased they found some good gold wonderful people deserve good things!
People should realise that all you've got to do to find a jackpot is to ask a camera crew along for the day!
Congratulations. Love to see you hit the big patch.
I just got so pumped to see how that find effected them!!! I hope you find so many nuggets you throw the small ones back!!! Lol much love
This almost made me get choked up. I gold hunt every year and I know exactly how this feels.
ua-cam.com/video/bd7QMuRr67E/v-deo.html
I loved this show..It was on Netflix but one random season
See that’s a genuine reaction . Unlike other vids where they find a good amount of gold and the act like yeah it’s an everyday thing .
made me smile it's good to see people happy
Love you guys. Want to see more. Good luck.
The gold Gypsies are always sounding defeated then a miracle happens everytime
ikr
You gotta love the emphatic moment : D the thrill of the hunt.
If $5k "transforms their finances" they sure are not doing well.
There's a reason that "gold prospector" is not a popular career anymore.
They can buy a tent to zip onto there caravan
Bo McGillacutty could you lend me 1K ?
Can you Paypal or bank transfer ?
Magooch86 unless u have dynamite and blow up a mountain known for nuggets, then get a crew with detectors. Find over 1 billion
At last, i'm really happy for you...Well done the both of you..!
Congratulations couldn't happen to better folks I'm so happy for you I hope you find much more gold
It's funny how finding gold in America takes tons of work and excavating... meanwhile in Australia all it takes to find gold is a metal detector and a hand shovel.
Well it's no longer just laying on top of the ground lol
Australias centre is mostly uninhabited and has only been mined with detectors for a very short period of time there is plenty of land that hasn't ever been detected and most of it is private land so it will never be mined

Yeah also I’m America its for 1000’s of ounces of gold compared to a few ounces in Australia
Right makes me believe its fake
Love your show, just wish Colorado still had gold like you find.
"Spend some more time with the young family " after ten years. They wont be young when he gets home .

Awesome video. Wishing them much more luck. Like watching this couple trying their best. Not an easy job for sure.
I love these two!!! Always watch and go make a cuppa when they’re not on, like now Marco and Leoans back I’m off thanks!

They are good actors.
Quest TV please we need season sets or more seasons on Netflix for here in the USA.
What kind of metal detectors do you or have you used? can you please give me a review what what most ones are most afordable and worked well?
im so happy for these guys i hope they make a fortune!

seems like that bigger nugget was mostly rock not gold?
maybe so but i bet it feels nice tucked away in her pocket.
Aussie soil can stain gold on its surface. www.goldrushnuggets.com/8graugonu.html
You should see the ones that came out this week....Monster 15 ounce Nugget
Yes there is more quartz than gold, but if they sell it how it is, and not crush it, its more of a collectors item to the right person. Its called specimen gold. Its worth more that way and considered a gem stone.
@Peter Yeah i hear ya. But this particular speci is quartz correct?

Gold is such easy thing to be found !
This is a replay of one I saw ages ago.
One of the best TV shows at the mo. The WA outback is stunning. Vern seems like a top bloke as a partner or employer - honourable and loyal. That Marco geezer was an ass.
Jesus, the guys in the Yukon are getting 500 ounces in a week.
GaLoS yeah processing thousands of yards of soil
They need to pull in that much to cover their bills. A small time operation doesn't need much to make it worthwhile.
Good luck getting the water for their washplant in the Aussie goldfields.
The mine in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia gets about 15,000 ounces per week (800,000 ounces each year). And there’s another mine that yields more.
The Superjezz that’s what they did at the beginning of the video or did you even watch it. They have water supply
U people are just awesome!
care to dig into the soil where you found the rock. need sluice and water .. happy trails !!
Well done nice chunk. 💥👌🏻

And here is me struggling to wake up at 5am to catch the tide. Maybe instead of staying awake all might I should sleep and wake up early.
wow, I am in awe. A few more years and they could have enough to sell and complete their lego set.
That was a nice sun baker they found .....
That large gold nugget doesn't look like it's all gold.
its left over iron. high chance that it is a thin layer of iron.
@@BayernMunchenFan11 and nuggets that size are normally kept in their natural form and there is a premium to match.
Which one better? Discovery Channel or Quest Tv?
It's the same thing...

I wish at 0:26 the PSI was at like 10,000 but he didn't realize it and blasted his hand off. Not really but what if, right?
Daniel Egan lmao
this show is far better than the Drama queens in Alaska
Happy for them...
Ok WHAT. 😤
If I could just dig anywhere and get GOLD nuggets.?😱🤯
After all that time the heavy gold is up on top??? Either planted/salted or they put it there themselves
I found a nugget in my draw I then proceeded to smoke it
Same
It's actually worth more around 8k because collectors will pay more for big chunks
Gosto muito deste casal, aparentemente são bem unidos..!!! 👏👏✌️✌️🇧🇷🇧🇷

How much does all this work and equipment cost?? Surely more than they mine ??
Love it , big nuggets,

What kind of mineral deposits are you finding in the ground?
Who’d ever thought Mick Taylor from Wolf Creek is a gold hunter?!
Find where ancient dinosaurs were and you'll coincidentally find pooped gold. Yukon miners were unwise to "ignore" finding a wooly mammoth tusk. @0:04 Me after taco bell
It’s time for Netflix to add more seasons know
As much as I like seeing the gold, they will now devastate acres with earth moving equipment in order to find just a few ounces. It's hard to watch.
like 5g of gold in that big stone.. not 3 oz

Lots of iron on that "nugget".
Is there a time limit for looking/digging for gold?
its no fun in 45deg c heat for sure so winter is better until you cant take the heat or tired of eating shot roos..
