Got my mission to the moon a week ago from the swatch store near the Louvre in Paris. My wife and I were waiting in line to get into the museum (2 hour wait) and I thought to my self what the hell let me go try my luck. As it turns out they had a few in stock so after over a year of waiting I finally got my piece. Returned back to the line and about 1.5 hours later we were in front of the Mona Lisa. Talk about tying memories to the watch and the buying experience 😅.
Sure at the regular retail, it is now a big part of horological history.
If you like it, buy it. I have bought a few of them, and I love them. It's a great looking watch for a reasonable price. Obviously it's a Swatch, with the qualities of a Swatch. It's not a luxury watch.
The only drawback: it's still very difficult to buy some models.
I bought my Mission to Mercury on my trip to Edinburgh. I just happened to walk in the store and the sales guy told me that they were sold out. He suggested I stop by the next day and I got lucky. I watched about 10-12 purchases in 10 minutes. Very happy with my purchase :)

I got a mission to the moon today ... a father's day gift from my kids, so it will be in my rotation forever. My Rolex and Omega watches will be stuck in their winders for a while i think. Love it.
As a Speedy Pro owner x 2 - I think the MoonSwatch is great. Wear one often (on an Omega NATO...yes, cost almost as much as the MoonSwatch) and just got the Mission to Mercury. To answer your question...why not?! Enjoy.
I bought a moonswatch in 2022 I didn't have any issues buying one. The price was ok. It's a nice fun watch. The experience of purchasing the watch is a great memory.

Agreed. I bought mine while on a family trip in Sevilla, Spain! I will cherish it for a very long time.
I have the Jupiter and I think it's a really fun watch and honestly, I wear it a good amount. Wear whatever makes you happy.
You're 100% right. I love telling people getting mine felt like a drug deal. I had to whisper to the employee, wait until people left the store, purchase it quietly and picked it up on the other side of the store 😂

I have my Omega Moonswatch Mission to Earth. I love it. My first Omega type. It is a fun toy.
Just got to Rome and was walking around not knowing where the hell i was. Saw the swatch shop not far from the Trevi fountain... completely forgot about wanting a mission to moon as theyve been out of stocknjn Australia for near a year. Also, we have 1 swatch store in the wholenof Austtalia and i live about 5000km away. Anyway, long story short, i grabbed a mission to moon and because I'm a tourist, i get the tax back when i leave the country, which is actually 45eu. Thats about 80au so im winning all around. Love it. Put the seamaster 300 away and will wear this for a bit, see how it goes. Right now, i love it.
I added an fkm rubber fitted strap to my moonswatch. It has improved it 100%. Today I'm wearing a revelot hexmariner prototype I won in a UA-cam giveaway 🤘
I love the points you’re making here, it could continue to be made forever or it could be discontinued, those that survive will be worth money, survive is the word here as they are not made from strong metal but from plastic. What an interesting thought and something i hadn’t considered. I tried buying at the store on many occasions and ended up paying £80 more in the secondary market - some may say that was silly but the amount of time, money and just the experience of queuing with flippers was pretty horrid. So i am just happy to have and to try and keep it alive as long as possible but i dont think it will outlive my actual speedy - nice vid as usual!
I'm wearing a green Timex Expedition from 1987. Each watch I have in my collection is to commemorate some life event. In this case, the football team I was playing on, had won the championship that year, and I was shovelling snow this morning. I'm likely never going to buy a Moonswatch (though I like the look of it) because I was given a Swatch Sistem51 watch on my 50th birthday, and it lasted 3 years and broke. So I have decided I can't really trust the longevity of a Swatch. My very first watch, a 1967 Seiko has outlasted it. There are lots of Moonswatches at the local Swatch store where I live now.
I picked up a Mission to Mercury while in Berlin from Ka De We - Kaufhaus des Westens. I'll keep it boxed for now and see if it's discontinued and then definitely lock it away. Currently wearing a Seiko panda Speedtimer. Peace out.
I own the Mission to Jupiter and consider adding the Mission to Mars or Mercury.
I don't have a Moonswatch yet. Not sure I'll get one. On my wrist today is a Casio Wave Cepter that I absolutely love.
buying mine was special. my wife and i after having 2 kids and never been just us again we booked a hotel and got her sister to babyshit the weekend. i had tried to purchase a moonswatch for over a year. i waked into the store. they told me they were sold out. when i walked out of the store the manager told me to come back at closing. they were holding 1 for a customer and if he didnt come back i could have it. went back and got lucky
Hi! I have a collection of the classic name brands and you’re so right, this is a thoroughly novel piece/creation which is Swatch at heart. Enjoy my collection of Moon, Mercury, Saturn, Earth, Saturn and Mars. All store bought. Cheers and blessings
If you're looking for a Chrono at that price you may as well look at Seagull 1963's. Mechanical chronograph and a more interesting watch. They also seem better built, the Moonswatch looks/feels cheap for its price tag (in my opinion).
But people dont buy the moonswatch for the watches function. They buy it because its an omega speedmaster for £200

I tried to get one of them early on but could not get a dealer to sell one to me outside the store. The closest one to me was 750 miles from home. I refuse to pay more than retail for one as I question the real sense value for it. It was certainly a brilliant play by Swatch/Omega.
Mate you had a lucky escape, just because alot of other people are doing stupid things with their money doesn't mean that you should,. This"watch" is a toy, something you'd get in a Christmas cracker 😁 it's not a watch,. I've heard horror stories about the colour bleeding out of the plastic on to people's wrists , also falling apart, and had to give a chuckle when he said you could pass it down 😅 I know that there are people that don't like their relatives but not that much to give them that rubbish 😆
After five months of waiting to get the mission to the moon, my mother found one in NYC. Total hype and quite honestly, this watch does not keep time for crap. Always have to reset the time of up to five minutes every few days. My Bond Seamaster has been bulletproof for 18 years. This one looks like a toy. Will I wear it, yes, but not a great value for the money. Also, turn the band around, it wears much better when the Omega logo is on the outside. I could be wrong!

Nothing wrong with owning or wearing this watch if you can get it at retail. Can be used as a daily beater for a year or two then tossed away. No harm no foul imo

Listening to you say Omeeeega like 20 times was killing me, although I made it through the video. I don't know why people can't pronounce the word Omega correctly. It's really not that hard, look it up. It's a Greek word with a soft E. Im not trying to be a grammar Na*i but for the love of god if you say a brand name 20 times in a video....say it correctly.
I would never buy a MoonSwatch. I do agree that this Swatch/Omega venture may have some investment value especially if it is discontinued.
I too would never flip a watch. I agree with sentimental value over money value.
You can’t compare a $400 plastic watch with Rolex. Was expecting you to go through build quality/ what it’s like to own one. Instead it was 10mins about hype and reselling like 99% of all the other moonswatch vids. Buying one ‘because you’ll meet people’ ain’t it.
Had no idea this existed until this video. Definitely a no brainer. Definitely will be getting one
I have the legendary mission to neptune bought at paris CDG branch and I've always considered wether to wear it or to keep it boxed as a collectible,but im in love with this watch so i chosed to wear it.
I saw the quartz version in store but do they also come in automatic?
I bought a mission to mercury, wore it once and lost one of the buttons, give swatch their due though, they sent a courier to pick it up and replaced it and sent it back by courier, I have not worn it since in case it happens again
I can only afford one watch and its a Michael Kors mens slim runway, stainless steel bracelet and a blue dial. Its not much but its a start.
I have one. I baby everything I own. If I look at it too long while sitting in place more scratches develop on the crystal. I'd still buy one or two more if it was easy enough to do so. I could buy actual Speedmasters if I could figure out which ones were for me. If Omega made a Red Side of the Moon Speedy I would backflip through a flaming hoop for it. Yellow ceramic would be nice too if anyone from Swatch Group is taking requests.
Also, the MoonSwatch offers enjoyment for a fraction of the cost a strap and clasp I ordered for my 300m.
Where can I find one of these watches for retail if possible at all ? Lol
@@Th3derekfisherrr Circumstances conspired to have me in Dallas some months ago so I went to the Swatch boutique at Northpark. Very accommodating staff despite some negative online reviews.
This is a breliant strategy to cultivate "brand awareness", Porsche and Mazarati both followed this strategy when they decided in late 90s to introduce "affordable" variant of their flagship cars : it worked!
Wrist check: I'm wearing the Hamilton Khaki field titanium today.
Initially I felt it not legible enough and began having buyers remorse.
I'm now really loving the piece, and recently I was at a store and somebody asked to look at it. Quite rare to see watch enthusiasts in the wild.
Fantastic video. I love my Moonswatch Pluto and recently picked it up for around 400. But the strap is sooo cheap. Had to change it out even though I do think it looks quite attractive. It's just so prone to fraying, you can tell.
Did you have any trouble in changing out the strap? I feel that i will damage the lugs with my clumsy hands while attempting it. Lol
@@Xirsuyx not at all! Changing out the strap was super easy. It’s not really as fragile of a case as people say. It’s not tough but it’s not weak either. Strap changes should be ok!

I am the proud owner of the Mission to Mercury and Mission to Pluto. Gave my wife a Mission to Jupiter. All I need now is the Mission to the Moon and Neptune.

One thing that sticks out which I don't like about the Moonswatch is seeing "Swatch" just below Omega. Even through Swatch bought Omega, their perceived quality isn't that of Omega prior to the purchase. That is like buying a Ferrari & having a label 'Fiat" just below the prancing horse. I love the history of the Moonswatch since it tied into Apollo 13.

Not for me tbh. I've seen some bad reports about the plastic crystal, and the rivetted together movement. And....I have enough watches at the mo. 🙈

I think that there is not even reason to talk about it anymore. Is a total forgotten Watch and was a flop. Don’t get me wrong, the marketing was great, but the decision to don’t sell it online anymore was a failure. If after 2 weeks was sold online as part of the plan so many people have this watch.

The MoonSwatch is NOT an Omega! Did you buy it at an Omega Authorized Dealer or an Omega Boutique? No and no. Can I buy one at either location? No. You bought it a Swatch store because it is a Swatch watch. The CEO of Swatch came up with the idea of the MoonSwatch, and the CEO of Omega even admitted that he was reluctant but he knew where his paycheck came from...

Wearing the Mission to the Moon MoonSwatch right now! Hmmm. I do wish these had a bit of better build quality, but it just looks really good. I paid retail for it when I went inside the Bangkok ICONSIAM Swatch store. They had it in stock on my 2nd visit, so I took it as a sign to get one.
I changed it to a brown Colareb leather strap, and I might place a TPU film dial screen protector later on, but I'm enjoying it so far.
People complain about the strap and replace it often however I’ve found that changing the orientation of the strap so that the smaller portion is at 12 makes it much more comfortable

Bought one on my honeymoon 6 months ago in hawaii and its really just a toy watch lol. I think id buy a real moonwatch
If they made 1.5 million pairs of those shoes… her battered old shoes would be worth about $.00. The moon swatch is not robust enough to wear regularly the crystal scratches the pushers fall off…there will always be a market for an unworn moonswatch especially since many people live a distance from the nearest swatch boutique… but to turn a profit I doubt it and there are much better investments.
i got so so lucky and got a Neptune in glasgow on release day since then they have only had 2 of them in stock there now worth over 1000 poound and i wont ever sell it igot the back engraved from dad so one day i can give it to my first child

Any Seiko SSB series model is infinitely better in every aspect while having similar design and comparable price tags.

Short term gain for long term pain for Omega. It’s why they will never stand toe-to-toe with Rolex in the industry. Rolex would never dilute their brand with a plastic toy.
So sad.. I can’t find them at retail price.

It would cost me similar in travel to the cost of the watch and no guarantee I’d get the one I’d want, so absolutely no from me.
I'm at the other end of the opinion spectrum with no interest in a too-large, throwaway, plastic watch that if I wanted one I'd have to travel at least 1500km (straight line distance) to obtain.

I dont get it, I honestly dont. Why buy a poorly made plastic quartz watch for a lot of money when you could get FAR better quality watches whether quartz or otherwise from other brands for the same or less money (e.g. you could get a much better made Tissot in steel for about the same price). If their sales of luxury watches is through the roof it must work in terms of marketing, but I still dont get it and wouldnt buy one myself.

It's a no for me, and it's definitely not a watch to pass it down as it would probably break by then 🤣 ... It's just a quick hype and eventually would die down.
Even if they discontinued them, it still won't be a massive hike in price because at the end of the day its just a plastic toy watch with a reputable name on it 🤭🤣
