  • Here it is! It finally runs without making any horrendous noises! David and I swap the flex plate for Mikey, pulling the trans and reinstalling it. We fired it up with open headers, but ran into a slight problem.... come along and have some fun while we get this American Classic up and running!!

Excited to change out that oil pressure sender. I was looking online as to what these things look like inside and the contacts could of easily broke when I was twisting the body thinking the entire thing was coming out... wrong I was.

Yep. Always get a new flex plate for the automatic and a flywheel for the manual from the company that makes or sells the engine.

We did, I came with a balanced damper and flexplate. We are thinking it was damaged in shipping.

@@Paulie_KITT yes, makes sense. I didn't think about that. I'm thinking about dropping an engine in my Corvette C3. Can you tell me how long it takes to put an engine in hrs? @@JH-jh2oe having not done it before, I'd plan on 6 hrs or more. This one took a while because we wanted to detail the engine bay, fix some wiring, and rework the fuel system. Don't forget to swap the motor mounts too! Let me know if you need anything else!

I put anoil sending unit just above the oil filter and got no oil pressure to the gauge on a 350 chevy engine, I had to put the sending unit on top of the engine behind the intake manifold and got pressure to the gauge

I’ve been looking at a Hot Rod Company 383 for my 73 Stingray. Waiting for your review of their 355 before I pull the trigger. Curious what your experience with them was like.

Hi, great video. Can you tell me what engine it (brand, item #) is and where you got it from? I am looking to swap my 1978 C3 185 engine. Do you know how much an install at a shop would cost? I would buy a fully dressed one with around 350 HP for a daily driver. Any suggestions and what to buy and where would be great. Thanks

    • @Paulie_KITT
      @Paulie_KITT  3 роки тому

This is a 355 from the Hot Rod Company. Not sure what a shop would charge to install it, as that depends on labor rates in your area. I highly recommend HRC, just give them a call and they will build whatever you want, with a warranty! You can't go wrong! Let me know if you need anything else!

I purchased a GM Performance engine from Jegs a few years back to put in my 93 S10. It was a awesome engine. It was the HO 350 HO/330hp. They have a huge selection of crate engines, and do have a 355hp one that I believe is called a ZZ4. I think they have a ZZ5 version now though with around 400 hp, that has a little better designed set of heads. These are brand new, standard bore 4 bolt main engines. They are built stout and right! Hope this helps you out.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas
station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel
pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in
the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems,
turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and
New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be
done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of
crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.:-(
