Animated Magnifying Glass Effect in Camtasia

Zooming in and out of the screen is boring. In this Camtasia tutorial, I walk you through a magnifying glass effect, complete with animation, to make your tutorials more interesting.
We use Camtasia 2023, but this magnifying lens effect should work in any version of Camtasia as old as 2021. We show an animated part of the screen, complete with moving zoom lens, drop shadow and magnifying glass effect on the video underneath. This helps highlight or emphasize certain areas of the screen as you explain them while keeping context for your viewers as to which area of the screen you are.
In this tutorial, we use: annotation shapes, screen recordings, duplicating clips, media matte effect, custom animations for movement, opacity controls, global animation and a bunch of other tricks.
