    Hearing the wonder in William Shatner's words while others are celebrating as if it's a bachelorette really makes you realize that he's the only one who really gets what this experience means for humanity as a whole and confirms that in his heart he really is our Captain Kirk! It's a shame we could barely hear him as the others were screaming and laughing so much.

      Dude, blame the crew for not moving the mic closer. Let people celebrate, people process experiences differently.
      Awesome for our good Canadian boy, but don't tear others down.

    Shatner is desperately trying to find in words what he's experienced & what it meant to him. That yearning to express what he's feeling with others is THE HEART of Artistry in raw form. At first, I thought it was really cool that our Captain Kirk had gone to the stars, but the thoughts & words he brought back down with him touched my very soul. That's HEAVY. So happy for him. This is a man who lives life to the fullest...probably why he looks so young for his age.

    • @AnOdinaryReaper
      @AnOdinaryReaper 2 роки тому

      The fact that your comment actually meant more to me than his words is telling me that his words were scripted and rehearsed like a movie.. kinda like a crappy actor trying to get better.. or lost their mojo kinda vibe. That’s how it felt when I was watching but who ever this old guy is just seems to throw bad vibes.

      Shatner saw something Bezos could never see. Bezos looks to conquer, Shatner looks to understand. Shatners mind has been blown by this journey, finally understanding the fragility of earth. I've been so opposed to space travel right up until this moment, but if space travel can teach people that our planet is not some giant infinite resource, but our mother who needs protected, and we can reach enlightenment from such journeys, space travel is well worth it.

Im happy for William Shatner. If anyone deserves a trip to space its him. He gave so many people the dream of space and inspired many people into actually going to space. Without William Shatner Blue origin probably wouldn't exist!!! We'd probably be still riding around in stage coaches and riding horses.

      Lmfao!!!! I was referencing the "rural purge" on tv!!! Before star trek westerns were really popular on tv. Star Trek and lost in space were one of the few tv shows in that era that were space related in the era that westerns dominated tv. ones that. While westerns died out more urban related programs were promoted. In the end the space themed shows like star trek stayed on the air. Star Trek was a staple of American tv. Imagine if the rural purge didn't happen. We'd all be wearing cowboy boots and dressing up going to line dances. Like it or not tv shapes how society behaves. Star Trek continued presence shaped our society in countless ways from entertainment, to civil rights and morality, to inspiring young children to get an education. We would seriously be living in log cabins that look like they belong the set of bonanza and we'd all be rooster wrestling and herding chickens to milk. Our entertainment would never be UA-cam but we'd probably pass the time by going to the rodeo to ride pigs and cow-fighting matches. It would be a whole different world then what it is today.

    I knew Shatner would come back with a profound experience. His reaction is more moving than I thought it would be. He wasn’t interested in weightlessness and floating around in space.
    He was looking out the window at the Blue Earth and the Blackness of Space. And he used it as a metaphor for life and death. Quite accurate actually.
    I’m so glad he got to go up there and see it finally and can say he was in space. I think it may have moved him forever. And we are richer for him sharing this experience.
    I only wish Nimoy had lived long enough to go up in space as well. I would have liked to hear his reaction.
