- For a place without any real highways or stretches of open road, Hawaii has a pretty sick car culture. Larry explores the old-school JDM side on the island, at a charity car show with whole lot of vintage Japanese metal.

The dude with the tanked s13 sounds like he absolutely loves that thing even tho it's 1 cm off the ground. Love it
That laugh lmao
chevy hahahahahaha
MiniMight yeah and Hawaii be making u scrape
He has that Jay-Z laugh))
Only possible on Hawaiian glass roads
Ah man, you could feel the first dude's pain!
Such a bummer. But we have faith that it'll be back strong.
Yea it was a bummer. But owner has fixed the pan and will be back on the road for spocom hawaii.
Just an oil pan ....
That's the cleanest and most beautiful Corolla I have honestly ever seen.
It's definitely up there on our list of dope Corolla builds.
Big island has some sick fast ones

David Jennings 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🌹🌹🌹
I've always wanted a 73 Corolla, since I first saw it on that 70s show when I was a teenager.
For the ones not from Hawaii. Pot holes here is about 10x 10 and 3 feet deep.
Out of all the channels Hoonigan have created, this one posts the most content, looks the best and is incredibly fun and interesting. You give Larry a job he delivers.
That 'My name's Jeff' bit got me good 😂
ممثمسميمسممي
Celica with the ford s/c was cool
I love celicas, kinda my dream project (so probs never happen lol 😂)
omfg.. that skyline tho
"I wish I could drive it home."
My heart.....💔
A lot of JDM because of how close it is to Japan, great to see so much history and passion at one car show!
That Toyota Corolla Griffith DropTop was drop dead Gorgeous
These guys have amazing cars and an even more amazing attitude.
Absolutely love Lance's humility!
Cheers from Croatia guys, Hawaii was something on my bucket list for the scenery, but now I'll have to add the car scene and the people under reasons to go as well.
Darion seems like a blast to hang out with, lol
These ppl are so humble, I love it! Also, sick rides tricked to the max, some with simple designs and others more elaborate. Keep up the creativity 🤟🏻
Love the little wheels on the jdm cars

I thought that guy Lance looked familiar! Lance Harano with the orange old skool Sprinter is the same Lance who was in Super Street with a white AE86 hatch. Pretty dope!
After watching the whole video I gotta say, every one of these guys seems like the nicest person ever.
Small but strong car scenes like this are our favorite. You can really see the passion these guys have with their builds. It can't be easy or cheap getting rare parts into Hawaii, but these dudes do it!
Yung 6 Pack yea i can tell you forst hand that these guys are def cool guys.
Hoonigan AutoFocus yup its not easy for sure. But passion drives us. Hope to have you guys and Larry come back again🙌🏽
That's the spirit of Aloha.
The laugh of the S13's owner was sensational
Lances Corolla was featured in SS back in June of 2011 and just looking at the pictures you could tell the car was stupid clean, judging by your reaction its even better in person!
Really clean simple build. I spent a little while in hawaii and sadly didnt see any builds quite like this but a lot of the builds i did see carried this low slung, small wheel style and i absolutely love it. The owner seems like a really down to earth guy as well
Nice selection Larry, those cars are beautiful! 👌 I can feel the love these guys have for them 😍
One of the best parts of car culture - featuring other people's cars.
The last 2 AE86's were sweet builds so was the unicorn skyline.
Jose Marrero it’s not Hawaii without seeing some hachiiiz!
Just beautiful artwork all those cars are awesome.
Absolutely LOVE Hawaiian taste in car tuning
Wow..what an awesome show, thanks for bringing it to us!
You didn't have to do my man Jeff like that! 😂😂 That hakosuka is absolutely beautiful! I might just have to take photography back up just to travel and see cars like this in person! Keep up the grind bro come so far since I first saw your work in 2017 cant wait to see what's coming!
That skyline is super cool. And that engine bay, when he popped the hood, I literally said out loud Oh My Gawd.
Love the video 👍🏻! Hawaiian car scene is so similar with my homeland Puerto Rico ...Love the imports!!!👍🏻
Oh hell yeah. That 1UZ swapped Celica is my dream. Glad to see it again
I love the Death Proof paint job. So clean
Tuna, No crust was dope & That unicorn sounds amazing😂
I love every autofocus you do Larry!!!! keep posting the best of the best
Man that giggle is love . It is a cool S13 looks nuts man .
That TE27 looks just perfect 😎
Love also that great sounding Skyline 2000.
That v8 Celica is nice, but like to see it in some nice paint on it, that's not my style now, but still like it.
Corolla cabriolet is interesting too and so nicely built 🙂
Those are my favourites, but nice cars all the way in this video.
Those old Corollas were very popular in Portugal back in the 70s and 80s, but we had smaller engines (1,3 liters i believe). Datsuns were also very popular, specifically the 120Y and 100A.
JDM scene in South Africa is crazy too... Those boys build some of the best cars I have seen in all my worldly travels. I've been blown away time and time again on my holidays there.
14:11 dean looks like a happy kikawa 😂😂
Since I fell in love with mid-60's V-dub bugs, I've always thought about a bus-type safari front glass. Perfect!
oh man, I remember that TE27 from Club4AG! Of course it's got Hayashi Street Fins on it. That's like the Club4AG calling card.
You make always the best Videos! Nice locations and cars...👌😎
I'm totally in love with that 64 bug awesome... great attention to detail
That whole scene rocks. I wanted to see everything there. :)
its crazy that you can hear a little RB in that skyline
This makes me so happy to see someone shooting!
Lance! My homies, and tommy! I miss them so much.
They actually made this same car show - for me on Christmas day a couple years back! They are the nicest most amaZing humans ive had the pleasure of creating a friendship with. Thanks for interviewing the deserving! 💜💪🏻 now some see me in Oregon! 🤷♀️🤪
Nice Toyota, vw, etc., great video, thanks for sharing. Best of luck in the future. I subbed and give a high five.
Use to run a 2TG in my 73 corolla. When it was good it was good. It was so finiky and difficult to tune. Eventually switched it for a 3T
EEp! These guys are like family to me. They held a car show for me ON christmas during my visit from Vancouver BC. Lance is a LOVELY human. Tommy etc they are all just amazing. You couldn't have interviewed any better folk.
The engine of that '71 Hako-Suka looks and sounds like a musical instrument. So beautiful!🤩
I had a great 71 Corolla 2TC 4 speed and 1600. Best car I ever owned. Easy to work on . Never stopped running had it in water up to the door handles. It was blowing bubbles.
Noel is a madman lol
Thanks for showing us some love!
Very respectful to the locals- I like that.
Aloha from Hawaii, Larry.
that blue s13 coupe is literally one of my favorite. i love the coupes so much they're the best
Really enjoyed the video mate! thanks for that! some beautiful cars there...
Going to Car shows in maui. I noticed theres a ton of JDM imports, beetles, trucks. Bikes are also included surprisingly
Some of my favorite kind of cars 70s and early 80s toyotas..would love to b able to build a old-school Toyota
Morning Larry... This is gonna be a great video, right :: started watching
EDIT:
Done watching :: of course it is... As usual... As always... And that GTR... Perfection
That GTR is 🍒
@@LarryChenPhoto Except for the fuel leak......but yes that gtr is amazing !
That Griffith Toyota Corrolla looks a lot like a Celica GT-S. Very awesome.
Hawaii is such a chill oasis with cool cars & people! I need to visit here
Solid !! Love the car scene in Hawaii 🤙🏽 much love from Guam 🇬🇺
Heck yeah. Got a subscription from me. Half chamorro from the SouthBay.
John Glasser 🤙🏽Solid!!! Thanks for the subscription brother!!! I hope you enjoy the content 🙏🏽
Got so excited when I saw the red car on the thumbnail. Only to be sort of let down (still a rad ride) I thought it was a Subaru FE (I really miss mine). Lost mine thanks to an ignorant driver who hit me then left the scene. My poor lil FE was totaled due to lack of availability of parts. I still had its factory window stickers, and paperwork from 1979. I really would love to have another FE one day.
🔥🔥👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Absolutely Loved Every Single One Of Those Unique Vehicles!! OMG 🤤🤤🤤😎
Marvin Marquez c
Great job preserving these very cool jdm classics. 😀
Not needing salt on the roads helps. 😉
This was amazing, the cars are incredible.
Such respect all for the keiki wish I went and brought my 86 out! Great event good people cool cars Hawaii’s car scene is like no other! Mahalo!
Damn. Cleanest, most unique and beautiful Hakosuka sedan I've ever seen. Nice video!
Very cool content. Love that blue bug's custom windows.
My favorite hoonigan channel by far
Cyril Fo same!
Stoked you're enjoying it so far! We've got a lot coming.
Love Larry chens work definitely watching this
The front view of the Trueno Sprinter reminds me of the square BMC Mini Clubman of the '70's
Mahalo Larry, for coming out to Hoike Lanui!!! Hope you had an awesome time and hope to see you again soon! - Kelvin
2:55 that steering wheel is gorgeous
Right? It fits so nicely with the build!
Cool group of cars and owners that Toyota convertible was a very popular car in Flotida where i grew up at one point they were marketed as sunchasers i graduated high school in 1982 and the Celica was a very popular car because of those late 70s hatchbacks that were reliable/practical yet a little sports car as well
I have a 1976 Datsun B210 that I wanted to restore, but things didn't work out. It's just sitting in my back yard. It's nice to see other people are into unique old cars too.
god damnnn its the corolla convertible!!! i would like to add that to my collection for sure!! rare is the thing lol
Bad ass Corolla 2tg twin cam 1.6 love it !!!
Keep up these auto focus! They’re amazing.
Locals keeping it fresh for the builds. Aloha from Hawaii. 🤙
Man Im more jealous of how nice everyone is vs the scenery lol
Larryt come to South Africa and come and view the old school cars here!. there is still a few of those liftback(grifith) carrollas arround....
Canada here...that celiac!...overshadowed by 240 in those years, great body lines...
I've been trying to figure out my favorite style when it comes to modified cars, and I just now figured out it's Hawaii Style. Everything I just saw was perfect in it's own way.
It's hard to put it down to just one thing, but Hawaiian car culture is very distinct. And we like it.
@@LarryChenPhoto you should see our mini truck scene :)
Perfect work.keep up
The GTR takes the top from all of those for me. I'd love to have a chance to check that thing out.. but also any of the other ones.
Man u do take goooood pic.. Been watching ur work.. Them are sum nice rides at that show...
John Sargeant 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😘😘😘
Thanks Larry.
Best show on Hoonigan hands down!
Damn that Corolla is perfection. We need an hour long feature on Lance. Dude looks like he has some stories.
Is that Delorto Carbs on that engine of the Orange Trueno....... SWEET
Kool video .. regards London UK 🇬🇧🏴
Thnx for vid .
That Dude In Blue did a video on the V8 Celica a few years ago. Waaaayyy before the Supercharger! That shit is SICK!
These people are so chill MBN to live on an island!!!!
I bought a 76 Corolla Deluxe to drive back and forth to work to save wear and tear on my truck. That was in 1993, and I paid $400 for it. The paint was the same orangy-red color as that one, but the interior was off white. It even had working A/C. I really liked the car because it was cheap, reliable , and easy to maintain. Everyone laughed at the car back then. I never dreamed the car would be anything desirable, but I like what he's done with this one.
God that tuono is jaw dropping. The engine bay just made my already widened eyes wider!
Larry…🚗🚙🤙🏻🌴just joined man! Love it! Lived on Oahu from ‘73-75 & saw the genesis of this. Air Force guys, not taking home what they brought in eh?
so many cool cars!!
The drift guy has a hilarious laugh
Larry, dude. Always great videos mate. Did you ever spend a summer in Essex England.? You were running a jacked up 4x4 in Hawaii at the time.
Great guys with pride earned and deserved for vehicles with style
Everyone is just so kind!
i love me some early 70s corollas hope to see more on the channel
We love them too.
I'm in love with that 2000GT Nissan Skyline !!!!
