Of all of the modeling videos I have seen on UA-cam, Chris, you are by far the BEST! Your videos have made it possible for me to get back into the hobby. Thanks so much and please keep up the fantastic work for us!!!!!!!

Thank you. I'm glad you've gotten back into it. That's really my objective, to inspire others and give ideas. Just have fun with it

Coming along nicely Chris! I’m going to be using these videos when I build mine! Model on!

Absolutely, go for it. If they can help others with their builds, then they've served their purpose.

Been watching Chris for the last couple of years as I find it all fascinating, the attention to detail is incredible, as a big SF fan I must say my favorite was the Jupiter 2, any chance of doing something from the early seventies Sci-Fi show UFO.

Probably not any time soon. I am obviously a huge Star Wars fan and favor those models, of which I still have many to build. And I have other sci-fi kits on the bench. But who knows.

@@modelsbychris Thanks for the reply, as a person with very little patience I find it very therapeutic to watch someone with incredible amounts of patience spend obviously hours on a hobby that is then condensed down to 20 min or so, I also find the addition of lighting in the models gives them a real sense of scale, I can really imagine any of these builds coming from the old effects shops like ILM, Apogee, or Douglas Trumball's EEG.

That rear fusion core is the rear Torpedo launcher. Otherwise, great work.

You're inspiring me to get back to my own build. She's been a shelf queen for several years now, collecting dust. I am probably closer to completing it than I thought, aside from a few more painting areas. I really went all-out to paint all the details on it. For the clear red parts, I just scuffed them up on one side with some 400 grit sand paper to achieve light diffusion. To be honest though, I cannot remember if it looks any better than the diffusion sheets you are using.

Like every model you do Chris, attention to detail etc is really good. Have you decided what colours your going to use for the different panel effects.

That'll be coming up. But yes. Actually going with the Tamiya suggestions on the box and working with those. Using a couple of studio model photos as reference

should of come with semi white trazparent diffusion plates

Yea, would've been nice for those who don't have diffusion. Fortunately I've got all that kinda stuff on hand for doing models

Nice job so far! Where can one find the diffusion gel you're using for the LEDs?

    • @modelsbychris

Amazon. Just type in photo diffusion gel. There's lots of different ones. Sheets, rolls, different opacity, etc.
