I noticed that it was a super controlled test as well ;) Def. pulling hard on the cajun gun. Pulling it into the frame. I bet it is false data. He did say the break is more glass like and crisper which is all I care about. The factory trigger is just.... mush

I was getting heavier numbers with same pull gauge. the trigger would break then you would have the weight pulling afterwards. I don't think the gauge has a sensor to sense its first stop and lock that number in.

I sent my p07 in to Cajun gun works and when I got it back it was like night and day. Stock, I absolutely hated the trigger. Now it's amazing. The pull weights haven't changed dramatically but the smoothness of the trigger is unbelievable in comparison which to me is far more important. I'd have to say I'm very surprised that others haven't come to the same conclusion.

I have 5 CZ pistols: SP-01, Shadow 2, P01, PCR and P07. All except P01 have Cajun kits in them and all were a significant improvement over factory. Lighter DA/SA, shorter reset, less pre-travel/take up. Omega trigger kit didn't quite yield the improvement as significant as standard 75 trigger with safety, but was still plenty noticeable! Not sure what is wrong with your P07, but you should talk to David or Scott at CGW and I'm sure they'll make it right.

so i watched this video before and a couple others and still decided to get the kit and im gonna have to disagree with these guys, while the p07 has a pretty great stock trigger, after putting in the kit, over travel trigger, and doing some polishing the trigger is amazing to where it almost feels like the trigger on a custom 1911, the wall is more defined now giving you better control and safety, the double action is smoother and lighter, the reset is much better even though on video it looks the same in actual shooting its a huge upgrade. Another benefit is that some of the parts prone to breakage are now much more durable. If youre the type of person that spends $200 on his ar trigger or glock trigger then definitely get this kit you'll appreciate it.

Just my opinion. I've owned two CZ P07 one very early on right after they change from the "duty" model and a 2019 model. All I can say is that I think CZ has made changes to this newer model that makes the da/sa trigger a lot better. When I compare internals everything looks better machined in the newer model. I think in early models you will see a big change to the trigger using the cajun kit. In the new models, the change is less and not worth the cost. Just purchase the spring kit.

Sean Michael The trigger pull tests were definitely questionable, bad form. I know if I accidentally jerk the the gauge it reduces the trigger pull at least a pound or so on my Shadow 2. The Shadow had a 10.5# trigger before I did the trigger job on it (polishing and spring changes), now it’s 5.25# D/A and 2.25 S/A. Very nice.

You are somewhat right. Every New CZ has different trigger pulls/feel some don't need to be upgraded some need it bad. Some SA are 5lbs and Sloppy DA 11lbs.

My P09 and P07 both have CGW Pro-Packages with tuning. The work is phenomenal and the triggers are butter after a couple hundred rounds. Best double action trigger pull on a non-competition duty designed pistol. Worth every penny IMO

Along with a VERY noticeable reset and better firing pin. I have a 2.8lb SA with a 7.5lb DA.
Now I didn’t get the Full kit.
You DON’T NEED the full kit unless you’re going for competition that requires a hammer spring less than #18.
I got the Short reset kit, #18 hammer spring, Reduced Power springs, also took plenty of time to polish the internals.
The CGW FULL kit is not over priced. It’s just overkill for a SD gun.
You don’t need the hammer and in most cases the roller if you have a newer p07 with the outer roller already polished.
You’re not taking trigger weight pulls correctly either.
Also the Gen 1s were over sprung. The Gen 2s are under sprung. Get a Recoil guide rod with a #15 recoil spring. This makes it more flat shooting instead of light and snappy. You don’t want light and snappy in a SD gun IMO. Now if you’re making your own loads disregard my last statement. You know what I mean.

  • @gregt.169

I figured that my p07 didn't need a entire expensive kit. I put the short reset kit in mine, which comes with the extended firing pin. Polished up the da roller and safety plunger. Put the reduced power plunger spring and a 13lb hammer spring in it and it feels great now. It has a 7.5-8lb da pull and a 3 - 3.5lb sa pull and its really smooth. I did exactly what needed to be done to make the trigger feel perfect for me. No need for the entire kit in my opinion.

So my question for all DIY’ers. Did you do everything that CGW would have done to the guns, polished all of the internals, and contact points? I think it is a little unrealistic to just “drop in” a kit, without all of the other things that are done, and expect the gun to perform like it came back from CGW. With the full treatment. Judging by the comments, your’s appears to be an exception not the rule. For this video to be valid, one of the guns should have gone to CGW for the full treatment i.e. pro package with polished internals by THEM, versus one of the stock guns.😎✌️

  • @ethan0145
    @ethan0145 4 роки тому +1

This is so left field on this. The point of the kit is that for around $700-750 all said and done you can have a pistol with a trigger break that rivals a well tuned 1911 in a polymer frame gun that can be converted to be carried cocked and locked or decocker style. So instead of looking at it as $250 extra you look at the difference between the $750 max for the P07 with this kit and whatever other performance piece you had in mind. If you aren't looking for it to be a precision piece then it wouldn't be worth it to you, if you were looking at $1500+ guns that this gun and trigger kit beats out then its a different story. There is a point of diminishing returns on trigger jobs, no shit, that's not the point though.

As a competitive shooter I have done two SP 01 Shadows and a P09 Duty with Cajun Gun Works goodies and they are amazing a noticible difference even after I reworked the factory lockwork I consider it money well spent and if there is a Shadow 2 in the near future it also will get Cajunized no problems here

Hey, I know this vid is 5 years old, but as a new 07 owner and a relatively new shooter, this was very helpful. Doesn't seem worth the 250, especially for me. The MCarbo spring kit change for $30 bucks seems much more reasonable. But overall, I say get good at the stock before making unnecessary upgrades.

I have a MCarbo kit on standby and came to the same conclusion. I haven’t been able to get my P07 to the range yet but have been dry firing for 2 weeks and the stock internals have already worn in and improved greatly after 1000+ repetitions. (I am using a small O-ring on the firing pin when dry firing in case the retention pin is still a weak point)

Amazing how much smoother the SA/DA CZs will get, if you spend that 250 bucks on 1500+ rounds of ammo. Plus, ya know, you get 1500+ rounds of practice/fun with your pistol. Hell, just let some "gun guy" piddle with it for a day, and he'll dry fire it enough to make a noticeable difference

Aside from the actual trigger gauge test here which obviously isn’t the best way to do one for consistency. I’ve heard this opinion several times about cg trigger kit. It’s one of the more expensive trigger kits out there for any polymer pistol. And a p07/09 isn’t an expensive gun either. The own
Trigger is plenty good and worth leaving alone compared to this kit.
At that cg kits price it should reduce the pull weight by half be super crisp. Have a short reach, short pre travel, and super short reset. All in my opinion. Good video thanks guys.

  • @pcpolice7937

Are either of you guys a gunsmith? I have never seen anyone use a Lyman trigger gauge like that - yanking through until the trigger bottoms out on the frame of the gun and then continue to pull. That's probably why you did not get any reading at all on the second pull. Also, the results were so far off (% wise) from one to the next, maybe try 2 out of 3 to see if you get any 2 readings anywhere close. Also, I may be wrong, but isn't DA measured after the slide is racked and the firearm decocked - instead of just putting the hammer all the way down?

Thanks guys! I have a new P07 with about 100 rounds through it. I don't like too light of trigger, as matter of fact the P07 SA trigger caught me off guard at first, there was no wall before break. I was also shooting glock and M&P that day. I like a 4.5-5.5 lb trigger and I like a crisper break. All I would want to do to my P07 is have it break crisper on SA and lighten up the DA pull a little. Any way of doing that without changing hammer or going full kit?

The Cajen Gun works P10 race trigger is, hands down, the best in the business.
It's take up adjustment screw removes ALL the take up. Actually better than the fabled Walter PPQ Match trigger. (I own both...).
Also, without the spring kit, similar trigger pull weights is stupid obvious!
The hammer fired pistol, when fully tuned, will always beat a striker fired pistol. However the P10 comes pretty damn close!!!

This is a joke of a video. Why no up close camera work? CGW has thousands of satisfied customers, me being one of them. You bash a company without ever sending it in to see if they could make it right, or you installed it yourself wrong and won’t admit failure. There’s a reason so many professional shooters Cajunize guns like the sp01 Shadow which already has an outstanding trigger, David and his son definitely know what they’re doing. Apparently you guys don’t. Btw, Cz p01 da before CGW was 14 pounds, sa was 5.75 pounds, reset was twice the distance after pro package da is 9 pounds and sa is 3.5 pounds. CGW and CzC are both top notch companies. You sound salty because you had to actually buy your own stuff rather than have it sent to you free for UA-cam gun expert testing. Lmfao

10 lbs is too much for me , prefer a 5 lb DA pull and like a 2.5 or 3 lb SA pull, otherwise why not just go with a striker fired carry gun. The single action trigger pull needs to be light, fast , and accurate , the double action pull can be heavier. like a carry gun would be. if you have a light trigger then the double action would be useful. if you dont have a light single action trigger just change the decocker to a safety and run it like that. thats just my opinion

There is such thing as polishing naturally by running more rounds through the gun or do the polishing diy to speed up the feel of a used gun. I have a sig 226 and after I install the srt kit and change the mainspring to 17lbs from 20 and also the sear spring. The trigger feels gritty. Before upgrading into srt I have put around 3000 rounds through it. I think the trigger feel is much better before the srt installation. Thanks for the video anyway

Cool! I bet the SP-01 SAO trigger would feel much better. These having the Omega Trigger System in them I think is a little different. I just know my experience wasn’t the greatest with their parts specifically for the p07-p09. Basically I got a little bit lighter trigger (not by much) and a crisper single action break (which wasn’t bad to begin with) for the grand total of $250 bucks. Most videos tend to oversell whatever it is that they are testing. It's nice to see someone just lay the bare truth out there. When you think about it, it's kind of dumb to assume that CZ doesn't know how to build a trigger.

lol...what a silly comment...ofcourse they do but they aren't going to fine tune a mass produced $500 hand gun for optimum performance or they would have no reason to sell their higher end guns...you don't seem to understand what's being discussed...

Really appreciate this video. I took my new Rami to range and it seemed pretty smooth out of the box. So I was wondering if I'd noticed any difference. Thank you both for helping me answer that question. For now, I'll spend the extra $200 on ammo and time at range.

You guys just saved me over $300. I’ve got the paperwork and was ready to ship it to CGW. No doubt they have a good rep, but I’m all about making smart investments on my guns. I went bananas on my first ever handgun (G19) and I’ve since taken it all back to stock. I’ll keep my p07 plain Jane (except for sights...which I can now afford). Thanks for the review!

Great (honest review). I've kicked around doing a kit on my P07. Think I'll just leave well enough alone. My CZ is my go to owb carry/car carry/no bs I need a gun, gun.

Aside from the reset that does look the same, is to get that snap out of the omega trigger system. Some of these omega triggers are super light and clean, but others are heavy and gritty; however they push through the break more than they snap. I did the competition spring, took tension off my trigger bar spring, and my P09 was good enough for me. Sucks though man.

I love my CZ PCR but I could never get the accuracy I wanted with my P-07, it just didn't work well for me personally. Ended up trading it for an M&P 2.0 Compact

Pretty strange. Never really heard of anyone not having 0 difference like that after a CJW kit….Everyone I’ve ever seen (buddy has a p10 and a p09 from CJW) and heard of has said they’re night and day. Wonder if it’s worth you contacting them lol.

Really appreciate the time spent to find this out but what I’ve ultimately found to be the truth is that CZ engineers and produces excellent, almost flawless operating firearms right out of the box. When you buy a CZ you will enjoy shooting it.
