@@BoshNRoll Get that algo working for ya!! TBH I am surprised that wotc didn't errata K-return to the kindred type. I honestly had to rewatch a few times to figure out why it wouldn't work lol.
Consign would have worked just countering stone brain as a colorless spell, but they were punished for greed thinking they could counter the activation.
That decision in game 2 was an easy kill the urza's saga to me. The board wasn't big enough to really push for lethal, and would still be there to wipe on the next turn, whereas the saga was going to pop if it wasn't answered immediately. Them going off was the only way they were really winning from that position, and it would require them having a land, nadu, and shuko all in hand to do, whereas wiping only required them to present nadu.
On worldbreaker - Eldazi temple has this note for eldrazi temple: The mana generated by the last ability can’t be spent to activate abilities of Eldrazi sources that aren’t on the battlefield. Don't know why, but seems the thing at ~17 minutes is correct, just weird.
Because when it says eldrazi it means eldrazi permanents. This is the shorthand they use for all creature subtypes to refer to a permanent with the relevant creature type. Like how a Lord of Atlantis gets to say “Other Merfolk get…”, and the game gets to know that it’s referring to creature permanents with the merfolk subtype. If it wanted to work with eldrazi cards it could say “…activate abilities of Eldrazi sources” similarly to how sunken citadel can be used to tap for 2 to channel boseiju from hand
The reason you can't use Eldrazi Temple to activate Worldbreaker's graveyard ability is because of the following: 109.2. If a spell or ability uses a description of an object that includes a card type or subtype, but doesn’t include the word "card," "spell," "source," or "scheme," it means a permanent of that card type or subtype on the battlefield. So... Yeah. Correct by MTGO, but weird/not intuitive.
Kozilek's Return is an instant, so I think you would have won G1R2 if you had cast it after they made a construct at eot. Two fewer triggers on shuko the following turn and all.
16:40 any time a card refers to a [type] instead of a [type card] it is exclusively refering to permanents on the battlefield. temple doesnt make 2 mana to cycle eldrazi cards from hand or activate abilities of eldrazi cards in graveyards, it only makes 2 mana to activate abilities of eldrazi permanents
I think its a mind set issue. Instead of thinking you are playing eldrazis, you are playing a bad eldrazi deck and a bad ponza deck. Nonetheless as a ponza mindset I would have brought in blood moon against all 3 color decks and lean in on mana disruption since your interaction is limited.
Watching that Esper Goryo deck made me realise even more that Grief fucking SUCKS in Legacy, but it's even more egregious in Modern. Fury was a problem, but an Unmask that can be reanimated or flickered should never have been thought to be okay. Free spells in Modern have been a big argument, all started with Mox Opal, and people complaining about that, and it culminated in the Pitch Elementals. It's not a healthy mechanic in a format without free interaction like Force of Will. If they ban Grief, Nadu, and The One Ring, I won't be sad, and it'll make the format much healthier.
I'm not a good player and I don't play eldrazi, but I kinda felt as if devourer of destiny was missed here. Granted I don't know what to cut necessarily and it could be that devourer fits in a more midrange eldrazi list
It’s a silly meme started by some commenter and some other people do it too. smoke ‘em if you got ‘em is and old saying, and the user presumably just noticed that Bosh Pack sounds pretty cool.
Kozilek’s return doesn’t have the subtype of eldrazi
Time to see how many people didn't wait long enough to comment about Return lmao
Accidental engagement fishing 🎣

eldrazi pack sow em if you spawn em
Damm I would be back to drawing board if my consign, break the ice and moon merfolk deck couldn't beat the deck I dedicated so many slots to
*shoves glasses through face* UM ACKSHUALLY KOZILEKS RETURN JUST HAS ELDRAZI FLAVOR
Kozilek's return is not a kindred eldrazi spell, it's just an instant. That's why eldrazi temple can't tap for 2 for it
I've never in my life seen a Kozilek's Return trigger from the graveyard. I forgot that was even text on that card
Match 2 opponent had the counter to Stone Brain but failed to understand how their cards worked…
Just classic Nadu player things

Both you and Phill with the modern videos and I don't blame you. Summer of Grief for 25 more days.
Your giving off big Eldrazi energy
Finally a good modern deck on this channel! Mana needs fixing, but list is strong. (Needs real fetches and surveil land)
I think it’s because kozilek is secretly phyrexian so it is not eldrazi, this was confirmed by my friends uncle who works at wotc

Hey @boshnroll did you know that Kozileks Return isn’t kindred???? It’s just an instant 😂😂😂
MORE ELDRAZI!!!
Tectonic edge my beloved

Game 3 match 1 felt more like Eldrazi Ponza
I believe the return of kozilek is not an eldrazi, or something
Guessing m1g1 conceded bc they realized they had no swamp and a bunch of black cards?
very surprised to not see the 7 mana start of game effect guy in the list anywhere

Unfortunately the deck is missing cards like Breaker of Creation and Thought knot. Tectonic edge also seems terrible.
Bosh nap sleep ‘em if you got ‘em
