OMG Johnny! I want to say thank you so very much for this tutorial! I am 42 years young, and this is the by far absolute best eyeshadow tutorial I have ever seen! I'm a cosmetologist and have taken many of makeup classes from Mac, TiGi, Aveda Etc. Your tutorial has been by far the very best! You are so extremely talented, and wonderful on camera to boot! You are both adorable and gorgeous! Also, I highly enjoy your Sephora skits! Honestly, thank you so much can't wait to try everything you showed us today!

My mom used to spend 2 hours on her makeup, mostly on her eyes. She lived in that 1960's cat-eye look. I have never worn makeup partially because she was so extreme. You're so welcoming that I actually have thought about makeup for the first time in 54 years. Some of why I watch you is the attention to detail and the drug store makeup remind me of my mom at her best. But you have made it all accessible. Thank you.

Thank you for explaining the head tilt for hooded eyes. NOBODY, including Wayne Goss, does that. They all talk about the crease, and how to define it a thousand ways. But you're the first I've seen that makes it super simple. THANK YOU!!

I Will be catching up to you soon enough!
Fortunately figured out skin care before I turned 20. It must have been something from a magazine.
Eye cream became my raison de
      être. It just felt nice.
Then, another bolt from the blue:
*Zits go away; wrinkles are forever.*
So I had to up my game.
Most of the girls eschewed any kind of face lotions; too scared of triggering zits.
Remember when we had Noxema, Pond’s, and that gawd awful orange Cover Girl foundation that reeked if more Noxema. Ugh.
It was cool when Bonne Bell came along but skin care wasn’t their jam.
Any procedure that my bank accounts allow, I’m there. I can honestly say I don’t look my age.
Hopefully we can keep that going. For me, aging gracefully is not something nature would support 😅me with. I’ll get my own, thanks.
I will leave you with this:
      *Jeanne Shrimpton is *everything.’❤

Hiya. I’m a blind guy ( I have 10 percent Vision left) and I really felt inspired to play with makeup because of you. As of last month I’ve been having so much fun trying different products. Of course as a newbie I’m experiencing the hardships of ‘muddy’ and ‘I look like a clown’ moments. Maybe not everyone has these moments, but I do. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I’m thankful for this video as it gave me new tips to try out and I think I found a few of my mistakes. You’re awesome!❤

I think you’re right! The muddy moments is what I try to avoid but I’m starting to think are necessary to perfect your technique. Bravo! Quick question, I find it pretty hard to see without my glasses and that keeps me from doing eye makeup, how do you do yours? I’m too old to lean into bathroom mirrors. Do you use particular tools?

    This was phenomenal❗
    You should do a
    "Make up 101 Series".
All types of eyeshadow tutorials: daytime, evening, metallic, dramatic, natural, etc. Then a contouring tutorial. A blush and bronzer tutorial. How to choose foundations. How and when to use blenders, brushes and fingers. And how and why to choose colors of all make ups. And most of all how not to feel intimidated going into an Ulta or Sephora.

I have a lot of skin texture, with deep-set hooded eyes and my Nana's natural dark circles - I always feel like I'm doing looks wrong, because my eye shape is 'wrong'. I'm totally with you on these tutorial ideas, cause somehow, at 34, I'm still doing everything wrong 😆

The blending explanation like when u say" when you think you've run out of color, go ahead and blah blah", those are subtleties that help a dummy like me! Thank you for including hooded eye instruction#, can never match any eye looks because of this. I just have to give you a huge thank you! I have been experimenting with makeup the past year and really enjoying it, but with hooded eyes and maturing skin, I am struggling mapping out my eyes and definitely blending. This tutorial was so amazing and actually makes me feel like I might be able to do this. I've tried going into Sephora or Ulta, but everyone there is SO gorgeous and good at makeup, I get so scared to ask for help not wanting to bother or annoy. I appreciate you and your content so much!

All of those young women in those stores were inexperienced at some point also; they should be glad to help you with choosing the right product and how to use it. If they aren't, they should be doing something else. It's their job to help people navigate the insane amounts of products from which to choose, and show you how to use them! They weren't born looking like that! Lol! Go....have fun with it!

What a great educational video. You are an awesome teacher, I like how you explain the where, but then also the why. It makes so much sense to a novice, as well as to a seasoned makeup lover. . Thank you. I'd love to see more educational, in depth video's like this!

Johnny I've been sharing ur Sephora videos w/ those I know will appreciate u. I was an actress & just think u are SO FRICKIN' talented - ur scripts, every nuance, every eye roll, the exaggerated forced smile when ''Barbara' is at her most obnoxious annoyingly obsessed self! Never overdone , but SO on pt, & the guy characters!!! SOOO perfect!! U R AMAZINGLY talented & when I saw some commercial u did as ur cast of characters all in 1, I told my friends I KNEW ur 'package' had 2 B picked up by some1 & appreciated 4 the EXTRAORDINARY talent that u R!! Plus ur sweetness & caring & genuineness of character & heart shines thru. I'm SO definitely & obviously 1 of ur biggest fans. I don't know HOW u have done & written SO MANY , but LOVE every 1!!! You're like a 'happy pill' if any1 might B feeling low. LOVE & APPRECIATE U SOOOO much!!

I've just recently started watching your videos and so I've only seen your newer ones but I looked up eyeshadow tutorials which I do a lot and this is by far the most informative. You even explain what brushes to use. This is the best eyeshadow tutorial that I've ever watched. Such a shame it took so long for me to see it. I truly appreciate it. Thanks! ❤

I'm 57 yrs young and have never worn eyeshadow -- like never ever out in public -- mostly because I just don't know what the heck I'm doing and I end up looking like a scary clown. ☹
But now, I'm willing to give it a shot! I'll probably have to watch your tutorial at least 10 more times but I am so happy it even exists. I've been waiting for something like this. Thank you 😃
    Wish me luck!
