The gear they are given is not just used for training and is not handed back after they complete the course. Britain supplies every Ukrainian we train with a full kit to take with them, right down to first aid kits and winter thermal gear. The AKs were sourced by the MOD from all over Europe, they bought several different models specifically for this training. I can hear the weapons training from my office at ranges just down the road. There are Canadian and Swedish trainers here on the south coast.
@@buffbugg4285 WTF are you wittering about? 🤦🏻♂️
The rifles are mainly Zastava, M70's and East German stock. They all seem to be in 762 short with nothing in 5.45. Also training on L85a2's and MP5 for some groups.
I was not personally directly involved in Op Interflex and Op Orbital, which preceded it, but the people I worked with who were directly involved all spoke very, very highly of the Ukrainians. Op Orbital involved the Ukrainian regular military and they were already hardened, but, as the video you posted shows well, Interflex was more comprised of former civvies, but they were already battle hardened. The words I heard people say of them were that they were like sponges, they soaked everything up, they were bright, clever people who were very purposeful in their approach and therefore more like training military in mindset. I'm also aware of the contact that has been maintained and the losses that are felt here in the UK. you may well have seen our lads saluting them as they left - the respect is of the highest.
Grow up there never gonna win are they k served get king real they'll never beat Russia and the state of the UK forces we'd be lucky to. Muster 500.000 troops if we was attacked we'd be fucked and you no it not a British problem
As an Irish person this gives me a lot of respect for the British military. This is the kind of thing the UK should be proud of.
As a brit, its good to hear nice things between our nations after such a somewhat troublesome history, hope you had a great st Patrick's day mate 👍
As an Ukrainian person this give me a lot of respect for British military and soldiers too :) Thanks
I'm english I don't care about the boarder in the east at all. I care about UK and its boarder being invaded by cultures that don't like us
If UK erupts, we be helping nobody for decades
@@makeasylumsgreatagain864 Love this. We need to build one another up, whatever that may be.
the Brits killed plenty of Irish, too
that "Battle of Britain" comparison is spot on, i've been telling people that this is like 1938-1941.. not as in a doom or gloom type of way but in a way where we need to kick ourselves(the west) into gear.. but as always great video man! always happy to see a video pop up from you!
Got a Ukrainian lad in my Judo club, training since he was four. Trained five days a week back home, he's a good scrapper and as he told me we've been training for this for years. Slava Ukraine!
I was personally involved in the preparation of the Infantry elements featured in the documentary. Training too place in multiple locations throughout England, It was a multinational training each location had A British Regt paired with either Danish, Swedish, Canadians, Finnish etc. I was part of Battlefield Medical Trauma training, of which none of this training was covered in the film, probably due the visceral effect it may have on viewers. We 'Actor's' mostly amputees were made up with prosthetics, fake blood, destroyed clothing were placed in trench systems, tree lines for FIWAF and buildings for FIBUA / OBUA. The Ukrainians were trained and tested in care under fire, casualty extraction methods, full CAS body checks, signs and symptoms and treatment. This included the treatment of OPFOR to enable Intel gathering. They were strong committed and passionate about getting back to defend their country.

I have been out to Ukraine three times now delivering aid and equipment and let me tell you that the soldiers & the civilian population are thankful that their troops are being trained by the British Army and I am proud of that fact .
Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦❤️🇬🇧
I've spoken to a lot of members of the British armed forces plus reservists and they've all said they wish they could be there in Ukraine fighting alongside the Ukrainians. Many seemed sincerely pained that they can't be there.
Well looking at how things are deteriorating between Russia and Ukraine due to this Moscow terrorist event and who they’re looking at blaming they might get their wish.
Fatevene curare che è meglio ma da un dottore bravo bravo però
Im so happy seen this video!!! OMG, I was there. I'm been in this urban area, I was in this camp. It's Bodney camp, we're trained here by Scottish instructors on leadership courses, right after basic courses with Australians. I so happy see all familiar places again, I can even recognise bushes where our section resting, and I chilling with finish soldier, who was there as spectator.
Came off Interflex in December after 6 months definitely a humbling and rewarding experience. Seeing the development of the trainees from their initial intro ex to the end of the 5 weeks was an interesting journey. Not a huge amount of time but the training has and will save lives in Ukraine.
Many thanks from the Ukrainian people for their support and help in the fight against evil. 🙏
U r that evil,Nazis?
Good training, the British Army has always trained ordinary soldiers to be leaders. A tactic which brings a new level to the battlefield, where a UK serviceman can take charge, or understand the orders they need to carryout with precise leathiality!
My youngest Son has been to all those conflict, retired from the Army 3 years ago after 25 years in the Coldstream Guards, joined at 16 left as a Warrant Officer,he would have stayed longer if he could,so proud of him and my eldest joined 3 Para'

Go Scots. MY god this makes me so proud to be British. Slava Ukraine.
For any of the people on social media who have lost their stomach to support the Ukrainians (the vast majority being from the US)I hope they will look at these Ukrainian trainee's and try to put themselves in THEIR shoes.
Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦🇬🇧
Totally agree. I've found it shocking how many are not in full support of Ukraine- especially the Trumper crew. I've heard interviews when Trump supporter said "Well, Putin's smart, he must've had a good reason for it".... Unbelievable.
Outstanding video CAC, thank you. I am so in awe of the Ukrainian people, they have a powerful will. They will survive and achieve their objectives. Slava Ukraine, glory to the hero's. Thanks to the Brits.
The Commonwealth, and Scandinavian and Baltic, Dutch trainers have been a great help too...thank you for sharing this with us all, best wishes from the wirral peninsula...E..😊😊
Enormous respect to the Ukrainian volunteers; the story of the young lady art student gave me a lump in the throat, such a change and such courage. Long after my own time serving, but I can vouch for the effectiveness of our DS in training people well and efficiently..
UK was the first to start training of the Ukraine forces but I believe they soon found out that British forces did not have enough trainers. So the MOD invited other countries to send trainers to UK to help. I believe Finland, Netherlands, Australia, Canada and New Zealand were amongst the initial wave, U.S Spain and other nations joined.I believe UK has trained around 75,000 Ukrainians to date. Which is more vital than weapons as its the guts and knowledge make a weapon deadly.
These trained go back to Ukraine to fight on the frontline or train other Ukrainians using what they learned in UK.
Sweden sent instructors from their Territorial Army (Hemvärnet)
@@BOLLOX64 Yes 🤙👍

Ukraine cannot match Russian manpower.
The soldiers need to match twice as many Russians on the battlefield.

Even though I'm pretty decent in English (my opinion), it would really require a life or death situation to understand the Scotts. Or Aussies going full Aussie for that matter.
I sure am happy for any help Ukraine gets in their battle against evil, don't get me wrong!
Just look where the knife hand is pointing, especially if the knife hand is pointing at you.
They had people to translate
I'm American and can barely understand a word.
A lot of Canadians are here, have been for nearly two years in south east England. Kent training up troops with the Royal Gurkhas.
Thank you for being someone who cares about Ukraine. Your videos are always informative and compassionate. 🇺🇸♥️🇺🇦
Thank you for all the British coverage you do mate. Really enjoy seeing American covering a bit of everything and not just focused on US stuff. Will always be proud of the British Army and stuff like this is why. Keep up the great content.
I’m on Interflex now, and the quality does really vary, other than trenches, trenches they’re absolute machines on
Not berets- Tam O Shanters. My old unit originally.
i hate being british on a daily basis due to political nonsense or whatever, but this is something that really fires up whatever patriotism I have left at the moment, proud of the help our army can provide, Ukrainians are our family and we protect our family
Same mate. I hate forced patriotism through political rhetoric, but I do get patriotic over the decency and goodwill this country can show at times.
Strong words
In some ways I’d say the same but, however I feel extremely fortunate to be Born British…not saying I’m proud of our politics whatsoever, in fact I’d say politics and politicians are always the cause when it comes to conflict.
@simonw6418 when ot comes to this one I'd agree .. 60k tennis matches with oligarchs gets you sound investments.
If it comes to it mate… remember, it’s not the politicians you’re fighting for. They change. But it’s for your friends, family your king and country. And when it’s getting scrappy you fight for those remarkable individuals left and right if you
I know it would never be filmed or shown but I would love to see a video of the SAS training Ukrainian SF! 100% it's happening
Proud to be British 🇬🇧glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦
Slava Ukraine! Wish all these men and women safety and success.
22:25 they're junior leaders, so corporals. They lead a section, I'm pretty sure Americans call it a squad, a section is 8 men, the US is 10 men. The majority possibly all of the training the British Army has conducted in the UK has been for corporals, sergeants and junior officers. I believe all the basic training that we've been doing for the Ukrainian recruits is taking place in Eastern European countries.
This must have been filmed over a year ago for the figure to only be 30k trained so far as if I remember right it was the beginning of last year that something like 30k Ukrainians were coming over at the same time for training.
They're being trained all over the UK, the British Army has to book ranges and training areas further in advance than normal due to the Ukrainian training. When the Challenger 2 crews were going through their training, the British tank regiments were having training cancelled last minute for the Ukrainians to use training areas and facilities. The British soldiers could even be on exercise on a training area that was booked and part way through be told they could no longer use certain areas as it was now being used for the Ukrainians. It really is a massive effort being put in by the British Army, and they are giving the Ukrainians priority as they should.
The regiment that is training the Ukrainian troops is the 4th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland formally the 1st Battalion Queens own Highlanders and The Gordon Highlanders.
it doesn't get better
David Cameron brought Ukrainians over in 2015 for training after the 2014 invasion. It explains a big part as to why the Russians failed to take Kiev airport in February 2022.
Thank you for covering this. As an ex-British Army vet (and English) I agree that the jocks are awesome. Really great lads to work beside and formidable soldiers. I don’t know about the rest of you out there but I am guilty of making the mistake of thinking the days of trench warfare were behind us. As shocking and awful as Putins invasion of Ukraine is, it has also been interesting to see the evolution of warfare in some areas and yet not in others. No matter how sexy kit gets, it still comes down to boots on the ground. My heart goes out to the bravery of the Ukrainian people and it must be truly humbling for those on Interflex to be able to do something to help.
Dude, love your posts. I was born in the UK with Irish / scouse genes and I can't understand half of what the Scot said. Proud for what we are doing
He's definitely from the Glasgow area. I'm aberdonian & I'm struggling with it 😂

Extremely proud of our country and it's contribution so far. I know the professionalism and knowledge being passed on is invaluable and the best in the world.
I wish we could all do more though, this is so important.
Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦🇬🇧
Love your videos mate 👍
I have always loved the pipes - they are THE instrument I would follow into battle
Our military is small, smaller than its ever been - but we are really well trained and have a great 'just get fcking stuck in' attitude. We will always help our friends/allies the best we can - it makes sense that if we cant/dont need to provide numbers, we will train you just as well as our own.
My Scottish boy is godlike, greetings from Ukraine
This is what makes me proud to be Britsh
excellent vid , thanks
Great to see the UK training the Ukrainian troops. Ireland has sent IED experts to Poland to train Ukrainian engineers in mine and IED tactics, learned over many years in Lebanon, Syria, and the troubles.
Always love your reactions Mr Theo
Caring and fighting
Mostly overcast, raining. Probably one of our summers.
If only it was like years of old. A stolen loaf of bread to eat and a ticket to Australia. Make punishment great again!
Great vid and reactions, thanks mate! - Oh, and yeah - at 23:00 - I'm Welsh, and I need a translator for what that soldier said, too - these Ukrainian translators must be top notch!
Epic upload!
There is a big difference between how Ukrainians are starting off then British, this is because the Ukrainians have been through a lot already, normally they would be dropped on screaming and shouting with a real nasty attitude and fixed Bayonets into sandbags with blood patches for reality. However they are being taught by the best. You will be able to see through their attitude and body language.
Best trained in the world and it’s true, just need more money putting into our military from this awful government
A lot of the training takes place at Catterick in Yorkshire.
Time for Britain to re-arm and get ready. We have the skills and the traditions; no time to waste.
I wish i had some conversations with those guys. They're funny, strong, remarkable as fuck.
This is what we call the "Right Stuff"
Seriously impressive translator.
Even as a brit, and married to a scot for a decade, I struggle.
That is one thick accent.
I think they had Aks for years,I remember stripping them down in Sennybridge as cadets .
thx 4 video and hi from Ukraine
Really enjoyed this ..was in w.germany early 80 before the wall came down, way too many alerts to the border watching E.germans and russians,,never knowing who was going to start off..definitely a tense time.great to work with nato forces, learning the languages were key..
Amazing work by our military.
Also, I love the fact you watch Limmy. You should get to Yoker.
If you can operate in constantly changing shite uk weather you can probably operate most places, as for the language barrier, you have to remember that even though everyone is technically speaking English, for our tiny island country the range of accents is mind boggling, people like myself from Glasgow speak totally different as to those from Wales, Newcastle, Liverpool, London, west country etc etc in a country thats about 600 miles from top to bottom.
In fact you are probably entirely incomprehensible to anyone outside of your city 😳
@@serenityinside1 The people from the next street speak a bit dodgy....

Great video
I took part in Op Interflex training Ukrainians trench warfare with the 5th battalion the rifles
I teared up a few times. Especially when the girl who was an art student told her story. God speed to each and everyone of them.
That weapon system is the AR-M9F. It was brought in so you could have an AK style platfrom that uses the 5.56 round and also blanks without modification, so the British don't have to deal with multiple caliber ammo and the ukrainians can train on a familiar platform throughout.
When this operation started the brits had to gather up alm different old AK variants laying around (russian, chinese, czech, you name it...), because they just didn't have too may of them. This posed a problem because of the different models and such, so you couldn't fire blanks with them due to the lack of blank firing adapters, o they had to train the ukrainians on the AK style platform, but use the SA80 for blank fire training, so you might see how that was a logistical nightmare.
Many countries are training Ukraine soldiers, but the UK was first, I see many sites that claim the US is also training them but I cant see this is true.
Alex Pereira, thanx for supporting Ukraine
You my favourite UFC fighter😁
Tanks Regiments are organised by Troops and squadrons, 4 troops to the Squadron, 4 Squadrons to a regiment normally A,B,C,D also HQ Squadron containing the usual support elements Recce Troop, QM Quartermaster stores (Boots & Socks), QMtech( vehicle spares, technical supplies) MT (trucks, landrovers, ) RAP (Regimental aid post where the Doc lives) all the rear echelon guys chefs and stuff.
Love for love
4:20 A lot of the time, Theyre trained at Salisbury Plain which I think it funny considering the fact Russia poisoned the town of Salisbury and got away with it
They also dumped the excess nerve agent in Amesbury killing a woman and severely injuring her fiance. It was in a perfume aspirator - allegedly. Then there was the polonium attack in London.
Wonder if they take the UK camouflage kit and guns back with them
The UK sources Ukrainian camo outfits that the trainees get to keep, along with a standard package of personal NATO-standard kit.... Boots, IFAK etc. Just not weapons!
Them Ukrainians MM-14 Digital Camouflage (Brown, Khaki, and Light Olive on a Sand-colored Background) is as Regular MultiCam like in a way & as complete/true Universal Camouflage Pattern it can possibly/realistically get!
Great video. 😅
The trench bit they wasn't wearing eye protection, Always gives me anxiety seeing that lol

Nice Theo. Love you vids! How about some new stuff by 3d assault brigade AFU? They have a new intense video "Raid to Krasnogorivka".
Link ?
God bless
Isn’t it odd how despite the mobility of WW2 and the predicted mobility of combat from conflicts after, we Brits still practice trench warfare, (something I believe the Falklands showed us) is still very much needed also it’s a bloody great way to stop a highly less well trained army in its tracks.
14:35 I did not get tear in my eyes. Not that I would tell.
Thank you
just donated 15 bucks to red cross for Ukraine, else was gonna waste it on a game. ( just wanted to say that somewhere.)
not much but another blanket or meal...

and i doubled it....cause i found 15 bucks too low.
( im one of the lucky ones)
so 30..
well if you wana be at your best in war, then who better to train you but the best
It'd be really cool if you reacted to the last two new videos by the 3rd Assault Bridge you had reacted before. One of these videos, particularly "experience from Bahkmut" is also about training and how they combine NATO experience and our own. The second video was uploaded yesterday, and includes a battle in a village.
Damn, Limmy was my "teacher" of Scottish English. He's awesome.
Night love and fight forever
My guess is that they probably got the AKs from either Poland or Bulgaria or possibly both you can tell that those AKs are chambered for 5.56 by looking at the mags.
Long live the king!
God bless America!
Glory to Ukraine!
They are not berets, they are Tam O'Shanters, and the colour of the hackle denotes the battalion.
Britain is training basic recruits, leadership candidates who will become NCOs and Ukrainian marines trained by the Royal Marines, as well as artillery, tank and IFV crews. We are also training experienced Ukrainian fighter pilots converting to NATO standards ready for their conversion to the F-16.
Isn't the pilots new guys, that is, UK is getting fresh guys who in 2-3 years will be fully trained pilots, because Ukraine will need new pilots as well, so UK is training new guys from scratch, in the future this new generation will probably be flying F-16 or whatever aircraft Ukraine will operate but I think the experienced pilots converting to F-16, and who will fly these later this year are in Denmark and Romania.
As said in the video, the guys want to fight, and as the UK instructor says, being infantry will have an impact, but in the future they will be in a fighter aircraft and that will have a much larger impact, I don't think experienced pilots would be infantry.
If you are able try and access the BBC Comedy Bluestone 4-2. Extremely funny and of its time - probably not something to review more for personal watching all I know is I enjoyed it and every Brit who served in Afghan said its the nearest thing they have seen to their time on deployment
It isn't only NATO instructors, as teams have come from all over the Commonwealth to take part in this training operation, from as far afield as Australia.
There are a number of different courses, from basic training, junior leaders (which will have them posted as at the least what we would call corporals, they call junior sergeants), through flight training of existing pilots and aspiring ones (aptitude tested already) and all members of tank crews. They don't need motivation or any of the spit-and-polish routines that we have to put our own basic training recruits through, or any time on fitness, as they seem to all arrive after having prepared themselves beforehand. And they aren't going to be putting on ceremonial parades any time soon. So it is purely fighting skills, in all the various environments, trenches, woodlands, open ground and urban warfare, including transitions from one to another. The guys on basic get 13 weeks. Those who have been recommended for leadership do this five-week course, and flight training goes from ab initio up to F-16 simulators We don't have any British F-16s as we have our own alternatives (Typhoons), which are unfortunately not a common enough type for there to be any ready availability of surplus ones to give them. The F-16 sim was brought in especially for this, and those things do not come cheap!
I understand that eventually, Ukraine would like to transition to Gripens, when enough are available. They suit the type of war better - short take-off and landing on 500 metres of roadway, for example, with turnaround times from 20 to 40 minutes (depending on the loadout required) from two trucks with one technician and half a dozen conscripts take account of the potential loss of the long smooth runways the F-16s need, and with higher air intakes, FOD is not the problem that it could be with Typhoons or F-16s, which both have underhung low mounted intakes that will vacuum up any FOD on a runway or taxiway. But for now, they have to get whatever is available, and that means F-16s and somehow, defending at least one suitably long and smooth, clean, runway. So they will need good air defences to avoid that getting slammed by a terrorist federation missile strike.
We stand united with Ukraine always 🇬🇧🇺🇦🫡
