There would not be Duran Duran without CHIC
John Taylor acknowledged that.
Bernard Edwards is his favorite bass player.
This is what music is about, pure 70's disco, forget about today's crap, 60's and 70's tunes will never die
Well stated.
Was für eine coole Zeit, danke dass ich dabei sein durfte💞
Nile Rodgers is an superheroe
ALL of those women were totally beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think the violin player in blue and white is beautiful ❤️
The 70,s was a damn great great era of music 🎶
Not only great music, but look at how sharp everyone is dressed. It was so classy back then!
No half naked women with little to no self respect getting wasted
I’m 62 and I still love it!!!
Same as me
Disco was the greatest....no fighting good music bring it back!!!!!!
Chic began life musically in the year 1977 beginning with their debut song Dance Dance Dance
Bring back the70. ❤
I’m 52. My nephew (36) and niece (25) encountered this song on a road-trip recently and we all agreed on this one.
It’s the yowza yowza yowza for me
Hail Hail disco music
We need to bring this back!!!
It never left for me
Estaría excelente
That driving Bass.
I so love Chic almost 50 years later
70's was the best decade for this kind of music.
For rock too
Agree! Most of my record collection is 70's.
I love how disco was totally analog.
Bernard Edward was standing on business with that Bass. Dude was underrated AF.
The masterpiece of Disco Music. Always sounds like a great idea"
Disco ruled in the 70s!!❤
Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards were the backbone of this classic disco group...
I don't know about that but Luci Martin sure looks beautiful today in 2023. I saw a UA-cam 2021 video of her and I could have sworn that's a woman not far from 27 years of age looking.
Tony Thompson (Power Station) too! RIP
Omggg, I haven't heard, "Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah!" in sooo long!! 😀
I was raised "Old School" Baptist. We weren't allowed to dance. Thank You for this wonderful song. It still makes me dance.
When music was good and people were talented. Unlike now
Thank you 🎵
The first time I heard this jam, I was stationed at FT Gordon Ga taking my AIT training and that was October of '77. That was a GOOD TIME for me, I was in the youthful yrs of my life.....a young strong up and coming 19yr old MALE who was SERVING his Country and DAMN PROUD to do so!!!.....
I was 19 in '77 too bruh. Glad to meet'cha. I knew every word to every song Chic put out at that time. I had just bought my first car, summertime was on, and you couldn't tell me s***. It was a good year.
Born in 91 and discovered this in the early 2000s due to my dad's CDs... still love this song
Evolution Festival 2024 I will be seeing them there!!! STL!!!
That transparent Fender Stratocaster 😍😍
yowzie, youzie, youzie! I just get up out of my chair on that one and point up to that disco ball!
i saw Nile Rogers, big outdoor gig, 5 years ago. wonderful night.
This is real music!
When music had SOUL.
I went with my family to my see two of my nieces dance recital performance at our convention center arena and one of the kids groups danced to this song, they all just have been between fourteen and sixteen years old, they were all excellent in their dancing and their colorful sequence costume was perfect for their performance and there was also a glitter ball. But I don’t think their parents weren’t even born or just born when this song came out and I was barely a teenager when this song came out lol… I remember one of our Friday night school dances at the gym played this song almost every Friday night dances. We all got up to dance, fun memories! Omg! So long ago but still such a cool song to this day. 😁🩷
back on top again !! for everybody who love this magnificent kind of music!!
Thanks to my dear Holy God in 2024 I dance
Nile Rodgers rocking then as he is now. Dude is a genius. Straight up!!!
To Erick M: This is true: When Rush Limbaugh was spinning vinyl, he appreciated Nile and Chic.
bERNARD tOO
@@FunkyDisco79 And don't forget the late Tony Thompson on drums.
The groove still lives in 2024
CHIC is my favorite , classiest disco group of all.
Thats music bring back 70.s baby
LISTEN TO THAT FUNKY BASS LINE. THAT'S WHY I LIKE THIS SONG. 90s LOVE
Bernard is too good ❤
3 violines wow!!!!
When your town gets you down, the dancefloor beckons and troubles vanish
We need bring back the disco, the Happy music of LOVE , and fill all the world with its beat.
We need to bring back the Disco Music, because it is great and Relaxing and Just Fun.
Amen, brother
Yeah man
It never really left. It became club, house, etc. But I know what you saying, no dance music will ever beat this era. And Chic was the best of them all!
I agree Ronald
@@sky1luv793 exactly! House music is just disco sped up!
Chic, the highest class forever!
Taking it back when it was 100 + real .
Loved me some disco the whole era was hot
PERFECT SONG 🎵🎶🎵
Love this song in Fever Pitch, lol. But really it was fun to dance to in the disco back in the day.
When music was good and people were talented.
I've pressed the thumbs up so many times my thumb hurts.
I close my eyes while listening to disco and pretend that I'm still back in The Good Times: the 1970s.
Kahako. Me too🎊🕺🎶💃🎊👌👌😁
We look back upon the days of Disco that delivered a generation of classics when performers played real instruments. AI instruments and Gansta mumbling has changed a generation.
Chic was AMAZING
Bernie Edwards was an Assassin on bass guitar 💥⭐️🇺🇸
Semplicemente ....THE CHIC !!!!❤️❤️❤️👍
No one is this good anymore
Remembering Drummer
Anthony "Tony" Thompson
(Nov 15, 1954 - Nov 12, 2003)
They’re all dressed so nice like they all met in line at a bank.
LOL… that was messed up man! It was the 70’s. Good joke😂😂😂
well, at least they're not wearing meat dresses.
@@thebeardedseeker5633 yeah I agree
That's what gave the name CHIC by definition.
Back then the black people had to dress nice, or the white people would shoot them.
Best Group ever
Best years ever, 1977-78…..
I wish to go back, best times forever 👍👍let me stay in the 70s forever please 🥺
Keep on dancing
Old music I like Disco forever 🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻👍👍💪💪💪70s 80s💪💪💪
Nile Rodgers is a freakin' musical genius and all of the members of Chic were really talented.
In that era music was talent driven. One had to use the talent bestowed upon them to make music and to be singers. They had no computer to rely on, only human effort.
@@funkrocker8011 all that! It was not about a look. You had to have the goods or no one would touch you.
Plus an orchestra and REAL instruments!!!
Was happy for him when Daft Punk gave him some shine on Get Lucky
@Jeniestra and it was his song writing partner Bernard Edwards (RIP) that laid down all those funky and unforgettable bass lines.
Chic is the epitome of 70's Disco
Certified banger when you boogie to this song in the mirror as you would in any disco. Stay cool you cats
Here cause I’m 26 and found this 45 at a thrift store and currently buying it!
Lucky!
this song I was in grade school and we need to bring back disco music in the 2023 and more
Bernard Edward had the natural groove, always stunned when listening to bass lines. Just amazing! Nile and Bernard were perfect partners in musical artistry.
the song thinking about you is about bernard to soon passed away performance at japan , saw a documentary about life of nile rodgers
I agree 100%
Nile & Bernard were The Paul & John of this era!
We had some great times to the wonderful sounds of disco!!! Chic, all of those other great bands, lit life up back then!!!!!! We had a pure ball hanging out with our Boo/family/friends!!!!! We worked hard all week/lived every minute of life for those weekends!!!!!!!
Life was Good Back when This stuff was Playing…Now it’s Gone…& So is my Life😢
Say what you want about disco, but it was some of the most feel good fun music ever!
from a musician and producer's standpoint it's also excellent!
Rob. Yesss yes n yes 💃🎶🕺🎊🎊👌👌
I've never understood what some people have against disco. Maybe it isn't heavy sounding like Rock and Roll and Metal? Someone who is 20 y older than me said that he missed out on disco bc he thought it was terrible because of all the comments others have made.
Once in a while, someone brings back disco, such as Jamiroquai in Canned Heat and it becomes super popular.
@@louistournas120it was Black & we had good times.
as meninas boas
Anyone else think this was the greatest decade for music? Say Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah.
Still sounds really good after all these years. A class act.
I miss those old school days
It's 2023 and I'm movin' and groovin' all over again .... 🎶 🕺 🎶 💃 🎶 ✨ ✨ ✨
Mad as bass technique. Yowzer yowzer yowzer.
That clear guitar body 🎸 though✨
Bring back Disco
Disco era the best time ever had to be a part of that❤️😄
I love the Chic girls.
Lordy, Lordy, did I do some groovin' on the dance floor back in the day to these kats!!! Ah, good times!!! PEACE & LOVE!!!
Thank you 😊
Beautiful song with beautiful people.
"THIS BAND OF PURE EXCPECTIONALL GENIOUS SUPER TALENT WILL LIVE FOREVER IN DISCO HISTORY",'ONE THE GREATEST EVER",
Ya pasaron 46 años y al escuchar esto me prendí y me puse a bailar k lindo y maravilloso fue ojalá y regresará esto Pero ya es tarde. Buen viaje JESÚS RINCÓN RODRÍGUEZ 66
YOWSAH YOWSAH YOWSAH!!!🔥🔥🔥
If it sounds so good in 2020, imagine what it sounded like circa 1978. I always thought CHIC'S music was out of this world and 40+ years later I still do. Gosh these guys and gals had it all....bad bass guitar, sick rhythm guitar, good keyboard licks (especially on Good Times), pulsating disco beats, lush female voices, strings. Damn!
Yo vivi esa época fue mágica, andar en las Discos bailando 💃 era maravilloso.
Quisiéra volver a 1978 😢
Loved their music great roller skating tunes!
The string player in the blue and white, who is shown from the 2:37 point to the 2:41 point, moves very nicely when dancing. Look at the, "Le Freak" video from the 2:14 to the 2:17 points of it, and at the 2:24 and 2:25 points. You might say, "nicely done lady."
Sounds the same as it did in 1978 when I was 21 😭
I can remember how the floor crowded extremely fast, whenever, this was played. The DISCO experiences from that unprecedented time, proved that the memories are forever embedded in the minds of that era. The "GOLDEN" age of "DISCO."
Lucky you! I discovered this music way later but I love it. It's AWESOME!
REAL MUSIC
The local discotheque was the swinging hot spot in the 70's.
yall know what my favorite part of this song is? it's hearing LUTHER VANDROSS holla DANCE!! repeatedly in the background. that's him and other singers tearing it up. LUTHER was part of the background vocal when the song was originally recorded in the studio. he is not shown in this video of course because he was not a member of CHIC. but he did sing background for them back then. i wanted to clarify that for those who were eagerly waiting to correct me. lol i love it!
Thanks… good to know that. Now I’m trying to remember the band he was in before going solo. . .. I’ve got one of the tunes in my head ‘Holiday’, a yellow sleeve cover.. urrm? Now I’ve just remembered ‘Searching’ searching for so long, searching…….’ Loved that song..I’ll get it in a minute. . . . Got ‘Player’ in my head, not sure though, don’t want to Google it.
Although much is made of the 5 core members of Chic, the three women of the "Chic Strings" were an inseparable part of the Chic sound.
Love that clear guitar 🎸💕
Yousa yousa yousa😊 love it❤
Real musicians.. real talent!
