    A tip. before you wash & freeze the rest of your meat, seasoning it with herbs and spices before freezing will make it so flavourful by the time your next batch cooking comes around. Great for curries especially.

    I'm a chef and my advice for your knife situation is, always sharpen your knives with a butcher's steel before use, that's how chefs keep their knives super sharp. It also helps to have really good quality knives>
    For leeks, it's best to split them in half from end to end, then fan them as your washing them under running water.
    Chopping board- place a damp paper towel or dish cloth underneath, it prevents the chopping board from moving around while chopping.
    Kienyeji chicken is amazing and it actually doesn't require boiling to soften. Look up brining recipes tht work well with chicken and you're good to go.

    • @suzyshomestead
      @suzyshomestead  3 роки тому +3

      Yes, it's not easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is. 😁😁 I'd encourage young people to know that life is in seasons. Some seasons you work harder than others, and some seasons you rest and eat what you sowed during the hard seasons. So know your season and run with it. And God will renew your strength for your season. Amen? End of my sermon. Offering basket is coming round soon. 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the great comment girl.

      An electric pressure cooker takes like 30 min with cereals, matumbo, kienyeji chicken and broth.
      To make cereals cook in less time soak overnight in water. For greengrams you can further soften them by soaking them in hot water for like 30 min before you cook them.

    Yes cooking in batches /meal prepping is a life savor! I accidentally started doing this when my children were young now they are college there is no going back. Even when I am cooking for a few I end cooking more 🤦🏿‍♀️.
