- I love bedman, this one scene happens in his arcade mode in Guilty Gear Xrd Sign ( You got to memorize this formula for the math quiz coming up ) . I prefer having the characters speak Japanese, especially potemkin, but this one scene is hilarious due to Yuri Lowenthal playing bedman.

I have never heard bedman talk before or seen his dialogue. Damn I was not ready for a villan monologue that sounds like a tumblr hyperfixation post.

First time I listened to the Circle I was sad that his soul was trapped in a machine forever. But after hearing a Reddit essay read aloud by Yuri Lowenthal I no longer feel bad.
I cried a little when I saw part 2 of the story mode in strive at the end with bedman
@@InsaneMetronthe worst part is that single tear he sheds at the end, because at that position and time, he is crying because of I-no, the biggest confirmation of his humanity, I hope that he can get out, though his biggest chance is the backyard.
I really hope he can at least reclaim more of his humanity, if not come back entirely from Xrd.

fun fact, Ky in Overture is voiced by Liam O'Brien, AKA Infinite from Sonic Forces
They probably chose Yuri because he was the only one who could talk that fast.
His voice also has that perfect "smug teenager" tone to it that's just right for Bedman. Now that I think about it he does voice a lot of teenage characters.
Imagine if they got Eminem or someone like that to voice him, that shit would've been hilarious.

Yes this is more than 10 seconds. Yes it gets cut off if you don't listen to it in the sound test. From what I know those facts are consistent with the JP version. I highly recommend hearing it by searching for Bedman's System Voice lines in English from XRD Sign, Yuri Lowenthal absolutely nails the delivery.

I do like the dub, I just prefer to play with the sub. It's just a matter of preference and I do like seeing who voices who in a lot of shows and media like Jamieson price as Leo White fang and who voices sub zato for example. Funny enough, I do like to compare subs and dubs, like this one episode of konosuba that I want to watch in dub due to Patrick seitz killing it as that annoyed dark night

holy crap hearing ben 10 rambling in a barely coherent yet honestly kind of relatable way(the inner machinations of my mind are an enigma) has pretty much singlehandedly made me interested in this series. though, if i were to play any guilty gear it would probably be strive and this iteration of bedman is unfortunately not there.
also like holy crap that is the most peculiar yet striking character design i've ever seen like even if you were trying to make something strange you'd probably get something both more normal and more contrived i love this guy

Actually being able to understand the character dialogue in gameplay added so much to this series for me.
This felt like listening to the bit in the song "The Black Box Warrior" where Will Wood just starts talking like crazy. Will Wood would be a good VA for this guy come to think of it, they weirdly have the same vibes lol

@@truegraham6780 David and Sam were perfect in Sign. David had a good performance in Strive but some of the line reads are a bit weird like his Tyrant Rave and I actually prefer his old more gravely Sol and Frederick. Also Sam is just the best Ky we’ve ever had next to Liam OBrien
@@malikoniousjoe I generally prefer Forseth's voice in Strive more. Though he could have used another take on some of his lines. He occasionally sounds overly gravely in Sign for my tastes. Which made it weird to hear him voice Frederick in the flashbacks in that game because he tones it down to a point that I think fits better. It was like he was told to voice two different characters or something. Me personally I also prefer Sean Chiplock over Sam Riegel.I liked all of Ky's eng va's but I think he hits a middle ground between not sounding as overly posh as Riegel while also not sounding as.....Gaara like as Liam. I'm glad they brought back Liam as Johnny in Strive though. Its a different take than his Jp voice but it fits perfectly.
@@truegraham6780 I just think overly posh and soft is exactly what Ky needs in a voice. He’s a pretentious upstart boyscout that learns to mellow out as age and responsibility finally gets to him. And he’s basically a Frenchman. He should sound soft and flowery which is also why I think Liam’s whispery voice works if a bit too gruff and deep. I think Sean sounds way too much like “anime protag #infinite+1” for a character like him. Not to say he did a bad job, I just don’t think the voice is particularly memorable or interesting on Ky. I’m glad Sin has had a pretty consistent unique tone as well, cause he was also at risk of getting a standard anime protag voice but he’s ended up with a way more “Zach Fair/lovable voice cracking himbo” energy to him.
