Speaking of Gerber. I wish they would improve the Armbar. Implement a lock up on the driver. I really like it but, lack of lock up is a deal breaker. Also they could improve the blade steel.

Now, if someone in China will re-make the Gerber Artifact. Gerber is not using the design and after numerous letters, It doesn't appear they ever will. Instead they will continue to push the Shard.
@@FaithThruGraceinChristAlone It usually takes 2 to 4 weeks for me,, usually a bit more like 2 weeks. I actually like the octane more, but the skeletool is a tougher tool.
@@hvacbudget8600 I am trying to be patient but it’s hard when you are used to Amazon delivery speed. I wish Gerber would create a mini version of the center drive. I love the sliding pliers but I need a quick accessible blade. I have tried 10 diff tools but the wave + still is the best. I just wish it was a bit lighter for my edc. Hopefully the octane will work.
It depends on what you want. A rev gets you a decent long term warrantied minimalist toolset. For about the same price you can get a clone with a toolset close but not quite as good as the Leatherman Charge with not much warranty. If you break tools regularly I would definitely recommend the Rev.
I saw another discontinued Gerber product on Aliexpress, the gerber Clutch. From some reddit reviews apparently it was a well liked mini multi tool. I ordered one.
I ordered something YEARS ago. Aliexpress was barely a thing but I got my product and it took a while but no issues. Just went and ordered an Octane and now they look more like a legit website with PayPal and other forms of payment available. Orders have tracking too.
I’m new here but thanks for the video. I’ve been trying to find a nice branded multitool but I couldn’t because they’re all pretty expensive and heavy with no clip and the cheaper ones didn’t convince me. Just ordered an octane and for 32 bucks it isn’t too bad of a deal 😊
The only reason why Leatherman put replaceable wire cutters on their tool, is because their tool was perfect and you only needed to buy one anytime you have a replacement anything guess what Captain obvious leaving a memo, you got to keep replacing so good for you Gerber I'm so glad that you didn't reinvent the wheel❤

The package opener on my dime is probably my most used tool on that multi tool. Really wish more multitools came with one.

I can’t believe they do not understand how many more they would sell with these small corrections.
I would happily carry one that didn't have the blade, and put the driver where the blade is.

The only thing I don´t like about this tool is the philips. The shape isn't a ph2, it didn't work in any of the screws I have, so I had to modify it.
How long did it take you to get it from Ali? Mine is delayed after 18 days, still waiting. Also, do you prefer the skeletool or the octane?

I just got mine after 32 days of waiting. I love it so far. The cutters on the pliers don’t meet but that’s the only issues I have seen so far.
I got a Diesel and hated it, but damn were the little scissors good. I’d give this a shot for camping. ⛺️

Could the 'red-knife-part' of Gerber Octane be unscrewed to left just pliers with internal tools?
I don't think so. I think it's part of the frame like the Wave or Armbar has outside tool sections.
