An additional check of the camera wouldve been to make a 3D version of the box in the scene, making sure the proportions were the same. Then use that and the plane to check the camera alignment, lens etc.
Be aware this is not correct. Your camera has not a full size sensor so your lens mm is not actually what you read in. Or you calculate the equivalent mm for a full size sensor or you do put the size of your sensor (APS-C (22.0mm x 14.7mm)) in the Maya camera settings.
What exactly do you mean? If you want an image that you have in photoshop to be your background, just save it out as an image and use as show in the video
Ah I see. Then you would have to essentially guess the angle and zoom level. If you match the photoshop image size to the render size, that will also help
Forgot how to do this, needed this video.

Great video🙏❤️
I love you, you saved my life man
thanks great tut.. but what about a photo of nature with no industrial lines or any sign of clear perspective? we just need to estimate it and guess?
Superb tutorial!! Thank you!! 👌
Nice
Really helpful Thank you for video especially for that crop thing by image plane !!
learned too much from this thankyou !
Thankyou for that.. You already had a Corona virus on your tutorial released a year ago.. 😄
Can't thank you enough!
You are welcome!

This is true, or you can research 'crop factor' There are many crop factor calculators online that can give you a more accurate focal length
One question. why im not getting Gi on ai matte material???
Thank you ❤️❤️
from where to check the focul length of the image?
what if object goes through the image plane?
move the image plane back or the camera away from the image plane
Thankyouu so muchh
what to do when the reference is illustrated in photoshop?

@@TimCGI hand drawn images dont tend to have a focal length.

Could this same thing apply to video?
Only if the camera was static.
What if your image doesn't contain a focal length?
You would need to estimate it instead of using a value. It has to be eyeballed or estimated.
