Great video! ❤ I'm the dev that implemented the core functionality of the Dematerializer. Just a few comments: 1. We attempted to address the Dematerializer being too quiet a few patches into Season 2. If you find a video of the Dematerializer when Season 2 just came out compared to now, it's actually much louder and a more characteristic sound. I'm not sure if the patch notes ever included this change. 2. Funny that you call being able to not be able to destroy dematerialized parts as a negative. (Totally valid opinion) On the team it was talked about as a positive and an interesting playstyle since nothing was able to do this before but I also agree with it being negative at times. 3. I was never able to find the time to improve cleanly dematerializing multiple wall segments and props so you can always cleanly walk through walls. Really annoying on maps like Las Vegas and Horizon especially. We had several ideas to improve it but other stuff took high priority 😢😢😢.
Wow, if this is real, can I just say you've done a great job with the dematerializer? This thing is so unique and so fun. The comments here will definitely tell you that, it may not be the most competitively viable weapon, but its a very smart utility to add. It's a novel concept that had the framework of destruction already in place (your team didn't need to remodel every map because the maps are designed for destruction.) If you think about your art like I think about mine, sometimes you might grow desensitized to your achievements, especially with online comments bogging you down. But know your work doesn't go unappreciated, you have succeeded in implementing a fun feature in a very popular game. And you've no doubt helped to put this game on the map. Sincerely, thank you, this game means a lot to me. (Also send my regards to whoever made the visual effects for the dematerializer they were very hard to copy)
@@gallantryharder Thanks for the kind words! I'm extremely proud of having worked on it specifically and am so glad so many players have enjoyed using it. And yeah the VFX Artist who made those visuals is an absolute wizard, he's awesome.
@@sahildhanju2814 Hi Sahil, great work with the game development! Please continue with the updates, there is really a grateful community of loyal gamers for this game. We dont want you guys giving up or slowing down updates and enhancements. Kudos really :)
@sahildhanju2814 Thank you for adding that specialization. I kid you not, Demat is what made me keep playing the game. Its the only specialization i use in the game now, even with its annoyances sometimes. ❤
I’ve enjoyed using Demat as well. ^_^ I’ve always preferred using medium in a more flank-heavy sapper/movement support role as opposed to the healbot that seems to have settled as the definitive “meta” of the class. Tell you what, nothing is funnier than sending a heavy plummeting a floor down while they’re chasing you with a sledgehammer. Funniest move ever.
I personally like the Demat, it's just a very powerful tool for navigating certain maps and objectives. I think it has tons of potential for those who are willing to give a try, even if its sometimes outshined by other specializations. Love your videos, keep it up!
I'm glad there are videos like this. I see so many videos that just talk about all the finals is failing. It's nice to see videos that talk about the object and how useful they can be
Right off the bat the first 40 seconds of the video are just so extremely satisfying! The sound design is so seamless and satisfying. This along with the animations make it a joy to watch. Also the way you speak and write the script flows incredibly well. The delivery of information is smooth, never too many things at once or never any dead space waiting for the next good piece of info. You can tell that you clearly put a lot of effort into it. I can't wait to see more finals videos on other pieces of equipment now that med spec is done!!
Your animations in the video are making me soo intrested in the video. Not even because of content but because I cant wait to see another silly, simple but artistic animation of yours

Dematerialize has risen to be my favorite specialization, since l won’t always have my turret off cooldown when needed or now that heal beam can’t full heal a heavy without overheating
Dude, this is fucking awesome. Love how you're bringing this effort to The Finals' community content - finally a The Finals channel I actually want to subscribe to!
So I used to play a lot of tf2 (up until I got my account hacked and lost all my items) and I was really into the community and would watch video essays on weapons all the time. Once I moved onto the finals it was strange seeing how there weren't any similar style videos with a lot of effort put into them so thank you for making these great videos. These vids add so much to the community(which is usually too busy talking about how the game is dead for some reason) and I can just tell how much effort you put into each and every one of these. I feel like a large part of what kept me interested in tf2, for however many thousands of hours I've spent playing it, was the community and the videos that would often remind me what I loved about the game and get me wanting to play more. So thank you.
Thanks so much, you've basically summed up why I wanted to make videos in this style in the first place. Every time I would watch one of those video essays, I would want to go try out whatever the video was about. And really, thats what I hope people do after watching these. Thanks for reminding me why I started.
Yeah, I can’t count the number of times I’ve gone back and watched some lazypurple video or a weapon essay by uncle Dane which would get me back into tf2 again. Your videos do a great job making the subject interesting enough for me to want to play the finals more.
I have 500+ hrs in The Finals and knew everything that was gonna be said in the video but after 3 days of passing it off I felt I had to give it a watch for the artstyle and I'm glad I did :) Keep it up!
Jist binge watched all of your finals videos. I just wanted to leave a comment because your a relatively small channel but you have way higher quality videos than so many big creators! I just wanted to say that thw animation style is just so engaging to watch mixed with the gameplay and the mic quality is 10/10. I cant wait to see more and I'll be waiting for the next one!
I use the dematerialiser. I don't like healing beam cause I play solo. And if you get bad teammates or you get light teammates, it's just not wort using compared to the others. And the turret got nerfed. And after that I would say the dematerialiser is stronger then he turret. But both are strong if you use them well. I just like using the dematerialiser to throw of my enemies. Can't really do that with the turret.
LOVE the videos, your sence of humor and little animations makes you my current favorite FInals youtuber despite this being the first time I have watched one of your videos. INstant sub hope to see a new video soon :3 Unrelated tangent: Dematerializer is also has a WAY lower cooldown than RPG rockets and C-4 so even with a heavy I like to take it to almost always have a way to open a wall.

Idk how im just finding these vids, they are amazing. Over 1200 hours in the finals and pretty quick i to season 2 i found my home with the demat. My 3 stack runs 2 heals and me with demat (dont tend to run turret since we all come from a competitive background and have pretty wicked aim). They plays become nasty and coupled with the demat our ambush and sustain means we dominate most tournaments we play in. 100/10 would reccomend. One thing you forgot to mention though is the demat wars that occur when 2 opposing players have it, its hilarious to frustrate an enemy attacker trying to open ice fishing holes just to close them up as soon as they appear on them and they KEEP TRYING and you start giggling knowing youre being annoying 😂
just in case you haven't seen already, they've pretty much fixed the dematerializer in season 4 my only real complaint is sometimes it's too destructive and the holes can be hard to seal, requiring relatively accurate crosshair placement, in my opinion of course.
Demat has quickly become my favorite specialization for medium. Ever watch a sledge/spear heavy become irrelevant as they fall three stories onto a proximity mine? _WOULDJA LIKE TO?_ Was a good game, that. Using demat as a weapon to get rid of pesky melee characters, turrets, mines… Phasing out a wall in front of a charging heavy, running back through and closing it off, forcing them to use their rocket launcher to break the wall and leaving them a sitting duck while I take potshots at them with a revolver… Clowning on _those damn snipers…_ by dropping them off their perch onto mines… The fun never ends with demat.

Thanks, I do have some advice for you.
First you should decide what you want to make in 3D. Animations? 3D models? Effects? or all of it like me? If you just want to make animations, I would recommend starting out with a software like Source Film Maker (SFM). It has built in characters and maps and even some animations if you only care about film making.
But if you want to make original models like my character, blender is your best bet. It's a bit harder but a lot more is possible.
After you've picked a software, you could do 1 of 2 things,
1.follow a beginner tutorial step by step
or
2.try and make something, and when you get stuck, look up information to get you unstuck.
The first option is what I tried starting out and I found it very tedious and boring, if you can handle that, do a few step by step tutorials.
But if you're like me, do the second option. Make something silly and easy, the first few animations I made was a spinning cube and an arrow hitting an apple.
Don't be afraid to try. You can also take breaks, i took a bunch of month long breaks when i first started.
If you'd like to follow a tutorial, I'd recommend this video ua-cam.com/video/B0J27sf9N1Y/v-deo.htmlsi=1yyFXzydTyKEXCkf
