I had picked up many of these details piecemeal from a variety of your other videos but really appreciate you consolidating the info into one concise weather prediction vid. Great job with the App screenshot examples too. Weather permitting - we will be headed to the San Juans via Deception Pass the week after our Factory Delivery so we found this quite helpful. Thank You.

Glad you like them! Thanks for watching! Which boat did you go with?

Thanks for the interesting content! At the end you said, "Check out this video to see how Ranger Tugs are equipped to handle bad weather"? I couldn't quite understand what you said, and didn't see a link. Which video were you referencing? Thanks! EDIT: Just watched your video on rough seas - It looks to me like the RT 27 and you all did just fine, though it was a bit uncomfortable, I'm sure. Thanks for sharing.

Cruising Sea Venture another good Boating UA-cam also prefers PredictWind. They are out of Everette also. However their boat is in the Sea of Cortez now. They have cruised up to Prince William Sound and down to Baja and said that PredictWind seems to be the most accurate....whatever works for you I guess.

I'll check out Predict Wind. But thus far, Windy has been working out well for us. Thanks for watching!!

what if you were in an anchorage and the prediction looked like it might affect local conditions in that anchorage? Is there such a thing as being better off under power rather than being in a bad anchorage?

It would depend on the anchorage and time of day. A good anchorage will offer more protection than open water. I'd rather be safely anchored than underway at night in bad seas also. We're inter-coastal cruising for recreation. So care ought to be taken into the upcoming weather with respect as to where to anchor for the night. As an example, on our SE Alaska trip, we found ourselves in bad weather in Glacier Bay. Made it to Blue Mouse Cove. The weather forecast for the next day was 20knots of wind. We stayed at anchor that day. It was blowing pretty good through the anchorage, but out in the channel was white caps.

All the flat water you see in our videos is a result of Windy, not Predict wind. I've not used Predict wind. Windy's been good to me thus far. However, I'll check out Predict Wind. Might make for a good Windy vs Predict Wind comparison video. Thanks for watching!

I will admit, @@Letsgochannelsurfing that here on East Coast Cape Cod and new england area, we have less current issues and our winds are more about a long reach, and direction, compared to SE Alaska
