This really is a neat little receiver. Still in the "budget" class it does offer 18wpc giving more choices for speakers. Specs are good and it has all the basic controls necessary for good sound including an Aux input (CD player). The LED signal strength meter is visible from more than a few feet away and with efficient speakers this could be perfect for an under 1,000 cu/ft room. Some vintage speakers for the SA-101 could be; EPI-70 (or 100?), AR-18, Electro-Voice Interface 1, Ohm E, Infinity Qe, Genesis V-6, Boston Acoustics A-40 or Bose 301. Just don't expect to rattle the rafters with this receiver. Nice video.
I just bought one of these SA-101 for $65. The tuner light does not work and volume changes are a bit static. Are these an easy repair? I would barely use the tuner but that light is aesthetically desired. I also use the exact same fosi tube amp as my bluetooth receiver. My unit is hooked to Paradigm Atom SE and it's a decent show piece.
You can buy faderlube to clear up the scratchy pot. It's a pretty simple fix. The dial wasn't backlit from the factory, just had the indicator lamp, which is a 7.5V 75mA bulb. If you handy with a soldering iron, replacing that should be easy too.

Do you know if this would pair with the Mordaunt Short MS30i speakers? Thanks
