This was very helpful! My family chose this resort for our family vacation next year and I was a little concerned. Based on tour tour I'm ok with this choice now!
Hi Andrew and Mona. Great to see another resort review. I love the earth tones! The sports bar looks fantastic!! I hope to see some room tours in the future. I remember Riu had "open-concept" bathrooms. I am one of those people that is not too crazy about sharing everything! I am not going to talk about the details here. Can't wait for the next video!
@@chase6056 I have no clue. I hope it is good. The rainy season ends the end of November I have heard. There are showers but not all day I SURE HOPE!!!!! I usually go in March but this year chose December.
Hi Guys Absolute Wonderful Resort, Love to visit there for 3 weeks. We did not liked your video BUT WE LOVED IT I FORWARDED TO MY FRIENDS TOO . HONESTLEY YOU DID AWSOME VIDEO OFN RIU CARIBE.
Thank you for the update information! I was there a month before they closed for renovation! I'll be there in 29 days! I liked it before, but the food was HORRIBLE! I hope it better now!
Would love a tour (if possible) of the RIU Land kids clubs (I've watched all your RIU (Mexico) tours/reviews and it seems that they are only touched on briefly). Now that we travel w/ our toddler that is a big deciding factor on where go. I think I saw briefly that they had one at the RIU Caribe, but was curious to see what it looked like and their hours are. Thanks for the videos!
Hey man, thanks for the awesome tour! It's very helpful. My friend and I are planning to spend a week in Cancun this December. We are two families with 3 kids under 10 and an infant. We are hesitating between Caribe and Peninsula. Which one would you recommend? It doesn't have to be either of them. Something else that falls at a similar price is okay too. We are not party people but we all like good food. Thanks!
Riu caribe is a good choice with a lot of activities for families- but also check out our tour of Bahia Principe Grand Tulum.. it’s one of our favourite family resorts 👍🏻
Hi we’ll be staying at the Riu Kukulkan in April and I just learned that we have access to all the other Riu properties and lunch, which sounds awesome. Do you happen to know how their shuttles operate and which property is worth a visit? I think we’ll definitely stop by this one for the party, love your videos!
There weren’t any shuttles when we visited this hotel - the only shuttles we know of are the ones that take you to the RIU Party, but I’m not sure it will take you to Caribe 🤔 you can take the city bus or a taxi to Caribe - that’s what we did
I’ve been there 4 times (05, 09, 2017, 2018) The first 2 times, the outdoor food area’s had straw or thatch roofs with a more tropical theme. The main pool was less geometric with 2 mini bridge walkways over the water & a mini island oasis in the middle with palm trees. That was also the activity pool. The 2nd pool was the quiet pool. Then in 2017 (After a hurricane) the thatch roofs changed to solid structures & the quiet pool started hosting activities. Interesting changes though. It’s kinda sad as I’ve really grown accustomed to the old setup & made good memories there. The new changes look nice, but kinda plain. Less greenery, more concrete. They replaced the tropical oasis feel with a more “high end” appeal. (You can google it) The old pool had more character which I personally liked. I guess I have to get used to the “modern style” Still a beautiful hotel though.
I'd agree with the new poole concept. I was there back in April and the main pool has really changed. I like the old style concept. It appears they have more pool lounge chair space and less pool? I like the new colors of the place and additional bars. Trying to find more information on the updated rooms. thx,
Excellent review! My wife is comcerned that this is too much of a party resort. We are planning for our 25th anniversary and while we enjoy music, drinks, swim up pool etc, we would like some relaxation and peace during the day. Would this fit the bill?
They’re very similar in terms of food, service, and rooms - the main difference is that Latino is adults-only and Caribe is a family resort. We toured them both, but haven’t stayed at either.. but our friends have stayed at Latino and they had a blast! They posted about tons of fun activities around the pool and in the evenings. Riu Caribe has the RIU parties, which are really awesome - but you get access to the RIU Dunamar’s parties if you stay at Latino - they shuttle you over and it’s a short drive 👍🏻 I would lean towards Latino
What would you say about the food? Last time we were in Riu Peninsula and it seemed to us that the food there was better than at Caribe. More seafood options, variety of food, etc. Has the food changed since the renovation?
Although the selection might not be as much at the Caribe, overall the food should be very similar the Peninsula. The quality and selection at the peninsula went down quite a bit from the first time we visited the hotel in 2019 🤷🏼♀️
Sorry, we didn’t get a chance to see. If you join the Facebook group for this hotel, you can ask on there and I’m sure someone will know 👍🏻 enjoy your trip!
When booking it says: You'll be asked to pay the following charges at the property: A tax is imposed by the city: MXN 76.00 per accommodation, per night Is this different than the city tax that was included in the total cost that is included in the final price. The city tax was $43 I think that was included
The Caribe used to have a great main pool with a nice swim up bar that was under cover and had personality but no they had to remove it and replace it with a lap style pool. I used to love RIU properties but they have become way to “cookie cutter” like. Now it’s like if you have seen 1 RIU you have seen them all. Same layouts everywhere, same open concept rooms, same lap style pools and swim up bars, same “Pepe’s” barbecues, same exact “splash” water parks everywhere. Used to worship RIU properties but they have renovated the personality out of them.
I really like Riu's. Have stayed at Riu Caribe, Riu Cancun, Riu Palace Peninsula, Riu Jalisco, Riu Santa Fe, Riu Emerald Bay, have liked them all! I totally understand that many don't like the franchise AI feel, but I would not hesitate to recommend the Riu chain :)
We don’t know first hand - and not all Rius offer the elite club. We recommend joining the Facebook group for Riu Palace Kukulkan - lots of people talk about it on there and share experiences.
@@WherewegoingNext will share our experience after our trip in middle of April,,all inclusive vacation is not cheap anymore, prices go up every year. 🙁🙁🙁

stayed there beginning middle of January, beach looks much better on sunny day

We will take that into consideration for the next one. Often times there are too many kids around for us to be able to film 🤷🏼♀️

Have you taken a look at Riu Latino? It’s very similar to Caribe, but adults-only and on the amazing Costa Mujeres beach 👍🏻
Hey, thank you for doing a video like this ❣️ do you know if you have to pay for the hookah at the pool ?

The best rooms will be at Caribe, since it was just renovated.. and the beach is excellent at both, so can’t go wrong there 👍🏻👍🏻

The rainy season starts in June, but hurricanes are most likely in September/October.
Any seaweeds n rocks in the water?
What about the swim rooms? Any pics?
We didn’t get to tour any rooms, but you can see pics on their website: www.riu.com/en/hotel/mexico/cancun/hotel-riu-caribe/?CRB#rooms-grid
Do they have smoked salmon at the buffet restaurant?
Menus can change from time to time, but here’s a tour of the buffet from last year: ua-cam.com/video/jswJAZkdr2c/v-deo.htmlsi=_qw7Y9ljPQ4EzgcJ
The beach area doesn't have shades?
No - most, if not all Riu hotels do not have any umbrellas on their beaches.
