DUDE!!!!!! It looks incredible, I cant thank you enough for taking the time and effort to put this together. Its going to help solve a few serious issues with my studio setup.
This is fascinating. I'm amazed by your attention to detail, to the fact that you were willing to let us see the mistakes, all of the steps that go into all of this construction. And of course how easy you make it look. This is a terrific video. Thanks.
What a trip. I saw your video about rebuilding your workshop from a year ago. Then watched a couple more videos right after. I’m a musician with a studio in my house, so of course I clicked on this one. Cool you built this for Rhett’s studio. I watch him sometimes. Interested to see if that live edge is a hindrance to him. I’m not sure a live edge would work for me. But I’d definitely take a couple of these desks with just a straight edge. Beautiful work. Interested in the final weight.
Natura Onecoat is great and if you want more sheen a second coat does wonders for getting that extra shine but still being closer to a satin finish than a dull matte and yet you still have the look and feel of the natural wood finish.
Beautiful work! I have made a lot of studio furniture over the years and though it seems to have worked out OK for the gear in the video, i would never make my racks exactly 19" . i always give each dimension an extra 1/8". some panels are a little oversize and the holes on most gear are oval and the extra 1/8 wont cause problems.
I think you're less likely to snap off the bolt head or majorly cross thread the bolt if you've got the clutch dialed in low. I was mostly just driving the bolts in and then tightened them by hand.
Super nice build man! One question tho. Why did you use screws to connect the base to the top while you used inserts and bolts for the C-channel? Is bolts and inserts all the way not a better way to go with wood movement in mind?
One of those inexpensive 10" battery powered chainsaws are perfect for breaking down that super thick material. I'm sure you can find one that works with one of the battery systems you have.
I'm looking to add a wider keyboard tray to my computer desk and was looking at the Rockler keyboard tray slides. Their website says they're not for use wider than 24". Are you at all concerned about the width of your keyboard tray?
Dude, come on. That is beyond harsh. Yes, I sell shit in my videos just like every other UA-camr, it's how we make a living. Product placement is part of every media production industry. You're watching these videos for free, how do you expect them to get made otherwise? You've been subscribed to me for 7 years (according to the icon on UA-cam), it really makes me bummed to hear this kind of criticism from a long time subscriber. Happy holidays.

That is such an awesome deal. I love it. The wood, the color, the little touches... Felt pads!!!!! What a great idea
You are a BEAST! Thanks for this. Rhett is SOOO happy. Black Walnut is gorgeous!
So true about wood knots always soaking up more epoxy than you think! Love this desk, Johnny!
You and Rhett is the best crossover ever!

Lovely!
Nice work as usual Johnny, looks like the new workshop is working well for you.
Thanks, I'm enjoying the new space, still have some things I want to get dialed in but feeling like home for sure.
Ohhh man, I like to watch ur videos 😂
Absolutely beautiful it turned out so cool . Great job
Terrific build! Gotta love that Walnut! 👍👍🔨🔨
Definitely my favorite!

Yea I thought about doing a second coat. Do you sand between coats?
@ same as a second coat of Rubio, just sand or buff using the maroon pad.

Great job
It's a small thing, but that ring that jumps off the finish had me chuckling @23:13 🤣🤣
lol I definitely wasn't expecting that!
Beautiful desk!
Great looking desk. The question, though, is: What keyboard slides did you use?
Hey Johnny! You mentioned using a drill with clutch instead of an impact driver for the threaded inserts with the c-channel, may I ask why that is?
I think you're less likely to snap off the bolt head or majorly cross thread the bolt if you've got the clutch dialed in low. I was mostly just driving the bolts in and then tightened them by hand.
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you too!
now I want to redo my entire workspace

May i ask where to find the 3 wheel shop casters you used to move this gorgeous table around your shop?
Harbor Freight, they work well and are dirt cheap.
Awesome desk. Where did you get the rack mounts from?
One of those inexpensive 10" battery powered chainsaws are perfect for breaking down that super thick material. I'm sure you can find one that works with one of the battery systems you have.
Why didn’t I think of that?! I have a battery powered chainsaw already. Good idea!

where do you get the c-channel
Added links to the video description, thanks for the reminder!
You and Rhett shouls design an electric guitar that you can build for him
Every single UA-cam woodworker doing standing desk projects
I really can not believe this guy has over one million subs. He is just a product salesman. No talent....
