    Thank you for this important discussion. Anthropologists were carriers of racism against Native Americans also, and every other people of color, (see my book They Met at Wounded Knee: The Eastmans' Story). Only a few in this new profession (notably Boaz) were not horridly racist. They openly claimed the ethnic groups of the world could be ranked in order of intelligence and ability and were integral to Hitler's philosophy.
