I agree for the most part. I think that's true for Selene, Amelia, Marcus, probably Kraven, Khan, etc. But Viktor was far older than 25 when he was turned (probably 60 or 70) and had already aged past that point as a human. The rest were born vampires or turned late teens-early 20s, so all they were close enough to the age they'd be in for the rest of their lives.
Viktor is my favorite vampire (possibly my favorite character) in the entire Underworld franchise, and one of my Top 3 favorite vampires of all time. The quick head turns, the way he yelled Marcus' name with utter disdain, the [unintentionally] hilarious dialogue...Oscar worthy material! 😂🤣😂 🧛🏻♂️
Bill Nighy is an amazing actor, and I think his role as Viktor was perfectly done. It's a shame he had to die in the movie, because despite his flaws and prejudice towards lycans and the mixing of the races, he was a good leader I feel and could have made the next couple of movies in the franchise quite a bit more interesting. Nah, he was exceptional att gaining and retaining power, but he was a terrible leader. He personally started a war between Lycans and Vampires that lasted centuries and claimed thousands of lives. Lucian was Viktors adopted son, he loved him and he loved Sonja. The moment it was clear that Lucian could control the original werewolves, he could have attained peace in his kingdom had he been diplomatic. Sure, his distain for werewolves are completly understandable, given how he spent years perhaps even decades hunting William and seeing the destruction he and his kind caused. But still, had he been less of a tyrant he would have seen that Lucian was proof that Lycans can be better than William and the first gen werewolves.
I don’t know the Underworld franchise very well. I just love how the franchises have their own lore and then comparing and contrasting. The first thing that comes to mind are The Originals from the Vampire Diaries. I love that series. I haven’t seen the entire Originals series yet, but I will get it achieved.
The movies show that Viktors reign started when they captured William. Marcus hailed him as "My Lord" knowing Viktor could kill William if he didnt obey. So my guess is all 3 of them reigned together during those 700 years of hunting the wolves.
Well the object to the game to imprison will in the light he would loose slves the wolves that vicktor lep he used as sunlight guards cause never change.

This was an Incredible Masterpiece Video showing The Origin Story for My All Time Favorite Character and Antagonist’s in The Underworld Films Series. Viktor is also My Second Favorite Role for Bill Nighy only outranked by his as Davy Jones from The Pirates of The Caribbean Trilogy and My Second Favorite Vampire of All Time only outranked by Niklaus Mikaelson from The Vampire Diaries Universe. Bill Nighy was The Sole Reason I Got into The Underworld Film because of his Legendary Performance as Davy Jones in The Pirates of Caribbean Trilogy. Viktor was not your Stereotypical Villain waiting to rule the world Cliche Stuff. Viktor’s one and only goal is to Protect The Vampire Species but he has done terrible things to Keep this goal. Viktor also had The Ability of Compassion. He Truly Loved Sonja and he loved Lucian and Selene as if they were his own children. Bill Nighy’s Performance was Truly Iconic and he Truly Carried The Underworld Film Series on his Back. Victor 1st Sole Reign was 1350-1410 A.D.
His wife could have died from the damage we know that too much damage can kill them..its also possible she was the first pureborn vampire and they didn't think the birth could be too much for her

Viktor was married to a death dealer named Ilona in the non canon novel, Blood Enemy that she was the regent of Viktor during his slumber. She and her convoy was murdered during a raid on her convoy for her husband's awakening by Brother Ambrose and his followers in front of Sonja. Lucian saved Sonja from being killed herself. Viktor took vengeance for Ilona's death against Brother Ambrose , which he had infected the monk with the vampire virus that it ending up killing him instead.
The positioning of the chain is critical as well with Viktor always awakening (and thus passing his blood memories and secrets to) Amelia & as Marcus always has to awaken Viktor, Viktor would have the chance to learn of any plots or disloyalty from Marcus' blood memories. The Chain wasn't just critical because of tradition, it was a carefully thought out system of maintaining Viktor's secrets ALL of them (like the possibility of a union of the bloodlines as with Sonya & Lucian).
They actually might age the way the vampires do on the game oblivion.. the more blood they drink the younger they’ll be, drink less and they’ll appear older.. the story ‘immortal blood’ Skyrim is pretty cool, I remembered it since I was a teenager
To me the fight between Michael Corvin and Victor is kind of like Hulk and Thanos. Michael and Hulk were stronger than Victor and Thanos. This allowed both of them to overpower them at first. But they fell prey to their many years of combat experience. Compared to their fighting style. Which is basically going with the flow and using rage and brute strength and speed.
What Victor believed in if Marcus or William dying will affect the whole race is just like VDverse with the Originals. I always thought Sonja was human and was converted the same time as her father and the army. In the movie of The Covenant said it was made by the same producers lead me to think the 2 share the same universe, unfortunately they never made any sequels to the latter. Victor may've been able to love but power and fear r his most dominate traits, just like Littlefinger in Got of his greed for power *(mostly)*, wrathful of vindictive vengeance of a childhood grudge with the Tully, Starks, and Arryn. And lustfully obsessed over Catelyn. Both r obsessed with power.
the difference between the Underworld and Vampire Diaries vampires is, Vampire Diaries vampires are supernatural creatures created by magic, whereas the Underworld vampires are biologically immortal transgenic beings who are the product of a virus.
There's a noncanon novelization of the Underworld film. I find it preferable if explaining the fate of Viktor's wife. It makes more sense than the film's died giving birth to Sonja nonsense. In Blood Enemy, Viktor's wife Ilona was killed via decapitation when humans raided the castle. She died in front of Sonja who was quickly taken to safety by Lucian. Viktor avenged his wife by going after and killing a human monk who initiated and encouraged the raid on their home.
Yes that is very confusing you would think that a vampire should be able to recover from something as simple as childbirth now as for Sonia obviously she was born a baby so I'm going to use a twilight's reference I'm assuming between the ages of seven and nine she became full grown that's the best I can do now with these two major loopholes hopefully one day will get an actual answer I mean speculation does run its course speaking of a good speculation I've wondered if Sonya should be stronger than Victor yes I know that he's an elder however Victor was bitten not born Sonia on the other hand born a vampire this may be a bit of a reach however it's certainly not too far off I certainly was hoping for more underworld in the future but obviously they're done with this now but it is what it is anyway great video
I’m sure about vampire wife. Viktor’s wife should have been human for Sonja to be born because as all vampire law goes: a male vampire can impregnate a human woman & a a female vampire can be impregnated by a male human but 2 vampires can’t procreate. Examples: Nilklaus the Originals episode 1 “Vampires can not procreate” Twilight and hotel Transylvania with Mavis & Johnny.
Bravo Dean. I'm a big fan of the Underworld series and I regularly read the novelizations plus the book titled Blood Enemy which is a different take on the start of the war. I wished we got to see more about humanity finding out about lycans and vampires. I liked the couple minutes we saw in Awakening but I wish we had seen more.

Viktor’s wife could have needed to have a caesarean section and the baby would have been cut out and due to the extreme procedure and no modern medical information would have been very bloody and basically massacred her! That may of been a reason for her death.

great video my thoughts on vampires having children. maybe in this world if a female vampire really truely wishes that she could have a child by her husband/lover then her body would aloud it. but the price could be her life. thats why viktor wife died. his daughter died whlie still pregnant and seline was in a coma of suits and she has very old blood in her vains. those are just my thoughts on all this though i could be wrong.

First of all, this is going to be a LONG comment explaining ALOT of the Underworld Lore. This is your warning. Marcus lied to Viktor, telling him that if Marcus or William die, then the entire Vampire and Werewolf races will die with them. He lied to protect himself and William, as Viktor wanted to keep Werewolves as slaves but he wanted William dead as William was rabid to everyone except Marcus himself. This was ingenious as Marcus kept himself alive and as well as his brother. And Vampires can procreate, they aren't undead Vampires. They are still kind of semi human-esque, they are just infected by the Vampire-Corvinus strain of virus. So they can still mate with humans, other vampires and even werewolves and Lycans. Viktors wife died in childbirth because of this, Vampires can still die if they're shot or have enough blood loss. Selene almost died in the first Underworld movie when she saved Michael Corvin due to her injuries simply due to blood loss. I can tell you're not *extremely* versed in Underworld lore. But it's like this: The virus all started with Alexander Corvinus, who was the first Immortal. He was first infected in the late 4th century, when his village was afflicted by an unknown plague. But instead of dying, the virus had mutated him into the first True Immortal. He then had 2 twin sons, Marcus and William, who were also born Immortal. Marcus was bit by a Vampire Bat who was infected with rabies, which mutated the Corvinus strain virus inside of his DNA, turning him into the first Vampire with the Vampire-Corvinus Strain Virus within him. William was then bit by a wild wolf who was infected with rabies, which then mutated his immortal DNA into the first Werewolf, creating the Werewolf-Corvinus Strain Virus. Marcus was able to keep the wild William under control, but only briefly. William then went on a rampage, turning entire villages into Werewolves. Marcus couldn't stop William on his own, even with his father's help if he wanted too, Alexander never got in between their issues. So with this being the case, Marcus went to a dying Warlord in Viktor, to exchange Immortality for the capture of William. Now onto the Chain. The Chain had started in the 6th century, due to Marcus constantly pestering Viktor on the whereabouts of William. This tension had caused Viktor anxiety to the point he had hidden the key to William's cage within his own rib cage. Marcus was the strongest Vampire being the first, but Viktor had more battle experience, but he was still worried that Marcus would expose him for his lies, since Viktor told his coven he was the first Vampire. So the three elders then decided to start the chain, with Viktor taking the first reign. They would then switch off every century up to a point, only using each others blood to awaken each other so the elder waking up could see the previous elders memories during their time asleep. As vampires can see someone's memories, thoughts and feelings when they feed on their blood. Continued in comments-
With Viktors first reign, he had wanted to imprison the werewolves and use them as his slaves and the vampires protectors during the day, since Vampires were deathly allergic to UV rays and Werewolves were immune to this weakness. This was the reason he kept Marcus alive and imprisoned William, as due to Marcus lying, Viktor thought if one of them die, so does their bloodlines. So here's the thing about Werewolves, they lose all sense of being once they turn. The Werewolf Corvinus Strain was VERY infectious, as it turned someone as soon as their blood was infected. Even dead bodies would reanimate as soon as they were infected. This combined with the loss of all humanity and sense of self, pure Werewolves are extremely dangerous. One reason being that they are not able to regain their human form once turned. But something had happened during Viktors reign, one of Viktors newly turned slaves was pregnant when she was turned, thus giving birth to a human child who had the ability to transform into a werewolf at will BUT he was able to regain his human form; Enter the new race, The Lycans. This child born was Lucian. He was Viktors favorite slave as he was the first Lycan. A Lycan is still a werewolf, but they are able to turn back into their human form unlike their pure werewolf counterpart. But Lucian fell in love with Viktors daughter Sonya, who was a pure born Vampire. A Pure Born Vampire is typically more powerful than a turned vampire, as both of their parents are Vampires, thus giving the child the power of the sum of their parts. Lucian and Sonya were forbidden to be together, as Viktor feared the merging of the bloodlines, as he wanted to be the most powerful man in the most powerful race. But Sonya then became pregnant with Lucians child, which resulted in Viktor executing his own daughter as his fear of the merging outweighted his love for his daughter. Thusly causing the Lycan-Vampire war that Viktor had then pinned on Lucian causing, when it was his own actions that had initiated the war. ----
Viktor then ordered his Elite team of Death Dealers to hunt and kill Lucian, with Kraven being a lowly ranked Death Dealer at this time. The Death Squad did indeed find Lucian, but it was a trap, as Kraven had worked with Lucian to rise in rank with Viktor, selling out the rest of the Death Dealers he was with. Lucian cut off the tattoo that showed he was a slave to Viktor and gave it to Kraven, who then took it back to Viktor as proof that he had killed Lucian. Their plan worked, and Viktor believed Lucian dead, Kraven rised to one of Viktors most trusted lieutenants while Lucian could hide without being hunted by Viktor and slowly gain power. Lucian had wanted revenge against Viktor for the death of Sonya and their unborn child, and his plan was to fulfill Viktors greatest fear and merge the bloodlines into a Hybridization of the Vampires and Lycans. Fast forward to the 20th century, with Selene becoming a death dealer and Viktors psuedo daughter, as he had killed his own daughter. Lucian was still working on his plan and looking for a descendant of Alexander Corvinus, someone who has the secrets of the untainted Immortal Corvinus Strain Virus buried in his genetic code. Enter Michael Corvin. Lucian then found Michael and their experiments were successful, using Michaels blood as a catalyst, they were able to mix the Lycan Corvinus Strain and the Vampire Corvinus Strain into a Hybrid Corvinus Strain; *Half Vampire, Half Lycan, Stronger than both.* With Selene exposing Kraven, Viktor went on the search for Lucian. But Kraven and Lucian had exposed the truth to Selene, that Viktor had killed her father and family, because her father was the smith who had created William's tomb and the keys to the tomb. Viktor then finds out about Lucians plan, but he finds out too late. As Michael was already bitten by Lucian, turning him into a Lycan. But Michael was shot by Kraven once Kraven had figured out he was exposed, who had also shot Lucian. Lucian then urged Selene to bite Michael to save him, as Selene had fallen in love with Michael. Lucian dying as he witnessed his revenge come to pass, as Viktors psuedo daughter in Selene had fallen in love with a Lycan and had turned him into a Hybrid.
Michael then fought Viktor as a newly turned Vampire-Lycan Hybrid, showcasing heightened strength, speed healing factor and agility, far surpassing any normal Vampire or Lycan asides from Marcus or William. Yet Viktors century's old battle experience had gained him the upper hand, until Selene stepped in and finally killing Viktor, avenging herself, her family, Sonya AND Lucian. They were then surrounded by the loose Lycans in the sewers, but they had stepped down, sensing that Michael was one of them, allowing them to leave unharmed. The second movie highlights Hybridization, as this was the goal of Marcus, now knowing it was possible for the line of Corvinus to accomplish. With Lucians Lycan scientist Singe, being killed by Viktor in the first movie, Singes Lycanthropic blood has leaked into Marcus's tomb, ultimately awakening the First Vampire. Due to the Vampiric abilities to see the memories, thoughts and feelings of whoever's blood they are feeding upon, Marcus had awoken already knowing about the current situation. But more importantly, due to Singe being a Lycan, Marcus had turned into a Vampire-Lycan Hybrid. To clarify, Marcus was a Vampire-Dominant-Lycan Hybrid after feeding on Singes blood. This was only possible due to Marcus being a Corvinus, and he was originally infected by the Immortal Corvinus Strain, so he was one of the few who were able to become a Hybrid. So now knowing that Lucian planned to create a Hybrid in Michael Corvin, and knowing that Selene was the key to finding William, Marcus planned to track down Selene so she can lead him to William's tomb so he can finally free his brother. But with Marcus becoming a Vampire-Lycan Hybrid, he had a plan to help William regain his sense of self. He wanted to make William become a Hybrid as well, in the hope that William would finally regain his human form and sense of self. With the now uber powerful Hybrid Marcus chasing Selene and Michael, they went on the run. But he was able to track them down easily, as he was the only vampire with a truly vampiric form since he was the first Vampire and being able to fly. Selene and Michael go to Tanis, Viktors history keeper, who had been banished and exiled as he had been telling people the truth of the vampires, that Marcus was the first and Viktor was lying. Tanis then told Selene and Michael the truth of their races, the history of Alexander Corvinus and where to find him. He also warns them that Marcus must not be allowed to free his brother, as William is an uncontrollable beast. Selene and Michael then continue to find Alexander, and succeed in doing so. But Marcus is not far behind, as he finds Tanis and drinks his blood to find out the truth. Marcus then leaves to follow Selene and Michael, as he now knows the secrets to free William, he just needs Selene so he can find out the location of William's tomb. Now when Selene and Michael find Alexander Corvinus, Selene pleads with Alexander to stop his son, as he has the power to do so being the first True Immortal. But he refuses to do so, as he still has his humanity, and refuses to hurt his children. Marcus then finds them, and he and Michael get into a fight.
Even though Michael is a Hybrid as well, the Hybrid Marcus is just as strong a match for Michael and he seemingly kills him. Michael then goes to Selene and drinks her blood to find out the location of his brother. Once he does so, he faces his father and takes the keys to William's tomb, as Alexander had both keys in his possession. Marcus told his father his plan, to free his brother at last and create an entirely new race, a Vampire-Werewolf Hybrid race, one better than his failed Vampire race that followed Viktor. After Marcus leaves, Selene then comes to a dying Alexander. He tells her that she must drink his *Pure Immortal Blood* as it will make her an *Enhanced Vampire-Corvinus Strain Vampire* and she does so, as this is the only way that she will have any chance to defeat William and Marcus. Selene was a Vampire, but due to drinking Alexander's PURE, untainted Immortal Blood, the untainted Corvinus Strain had mixed and mutated Selenes Vampire-Corvinus Strain blood and had enhanced her abilities to that of a Hybrid. Creating the first Enhanced Vampire Corvinus Strain. Alexander then tells his men, the cleaners, to follow and aid Selene in stopping his sons. They grab Michaels body and Alexander proceeds to detonate his base to get rid of any evidence of their presence to the human world. Selene then finds Marcus, but they are too late. He had freed William, but he did not have enough time to turn William into a Hybrid. Selene and the Cleaners then fight Marcus and William, with William turning everyone he bites and scratches into Werewolves *instantaneously* as the original Werewolf-Corvinus Strain is very infectious. But since the cleaners had brought Michael's body, Michael had revived as he was resilient enough to survive Marcus's attack. Michael then kills all of the Werewolves that William had created and comes to Selenes aid. The Enhanced Selene then fights the Hybrid Marcus while the pure Werewolf William fights the Hybrid Michael. William is powerful being the first original Werewolf, but the Hyrbidized Michael is just a bit more powerful than William and rips his head in half with his bare hands. Marcus, being distracted by his brothers death, is then killed by Selene, being thrown into the helicopter blades that were still spinning. Marcus and William were then finally stopped and the entire Corvinus bloodline was gone except for Michael. There is still so much that happens and so much lore, but I've already written so much. I love Underworld as it is VERY underrated and actually pretty in depth if you take the time to research the lore. Dean, if you want, I could help you research Underworld Lore! I love Underworld and there were some things that you missed or didnt understand.

Bill Nighy was The Sole Reason I Got into The Underworld Film because of his Legendary Performance as Davy Jones in The Pirates of Caribbean Trilogy. Viktor was not your Stereotypical Villain waiting to rule the world Cliche Stuff. Viktor’s one and only goal is to Protect The Vampire Species but he has done terrible things to Keep this goal. Viktor also had The Ability of Compassion. He Truly Loved Sonja and he loved Lucian and Selene as if they were his own children. Bill Nighy’s Performance was Truly Iconic and he Truly Carried The Underworld Film Series on his Back.

When it comes to child vampires, considering that the hybrid child still grows to adulthood, I'm guessing that vampires stop ageing at adulthood.

Viktor was married to a death dealer named Ilona in the non canon novel, Blood Enemy that she was the regent of Viktor during his slumber. She and her convoy was murdered during a raid on her convoy for her husband's awakening by Brother Ambrose and his followers in front of Sonja. Lucian saved Sonja from being killed herself. Viktor took vengeance for Ilona's death against Brother Ambrose , which he had infected the monk with the vampire virus that it ending up killing him instead.
Maybe because the vampire birth it’s so extreme and violent. That there’s a high chance of dying 🤷🏽♂️
The positioning of the chain is critical as well with Viktor always awakening (and thus passing his blood memories and secrets to) Amelia & as Marcus always has to awaken Viktor, Viktor would have the chance to learn of any plots or disloyalty from Marcus' blood memories. The Chain wasn't just critical because of tradition, it was a carefully thought out system of maintaining Viktor's secrets ALL of them (like the possibility of a union of the bloodlines as with Sonya & Lucian).
Of all the vampires of Underworld, viktor gave me great pause. He had his reasons, but some of his methods were questionable. Praise to Master Nighy

To me the fight between Michael Corvin and Victor is kind of like Hulk and Thanos.
Michael and Hulk were stronger than Victor and Thanos. This allowed both of them to overpower them at first. But they fell prey to their many years of combat experience.
Compared to their fighting style. Which is basically going with the flow and using rage and brute strength and speed.

What Victor believed in if Marcus or William dying will affect the whole race is just like VDverse with the Originals. I always thought Sonja was human and was converted the same time as her father and the army. In the movie of The Covenant said it was made by the same producers lead me to think the 2 share the same universe, unfortunately they never made any sequels to the latter. Victor may've been able to love but power and fear r his most dominate traits, just like Littlefinger in Got of his greed for power *(mostly)*, wrathful of vindictive vengeance of a childhood grudge with the Tully, Starks, and Arryn. And lustfully obsessed over Catelyn. Both r obsessed with power.
the difference between the Underworld and Vampire Diaries vampires is, Vampire Diaries vampires are supernatural creatures created by magic, whereas the Underworld vampires are biologically immortal transgenic beings who are the product of a virus.

There's a noncanon novelization of the Underworld film. I find it preferable if explaining the fate of Viktor's wife. It makes more sense than the film's died giving birth to Sonja nonsense. In Blood Enemy, Viktor's wife Ilona was killed via decapitation when humans raided the castle. She died in front of Sonja who was quickly taken to safety by Lucian. Viktor avenged his wife by going after and killing a human monk who initiated and encouraged the raid on their home.
Yes that is very confusing you would think that a vampire should be able to recover from something as simple as childbirth now as for Sonia obviously she was born a baby so I'm going to use a twilight's reference I'm assuming between the ages of seven and nine she became full grown that's the best I can do now with these two major loopholes hopefully one day will get an actual answer I mean speculation does run its course speaking of a good speculation I've wondered if Sonya should be stronger than Victor yes I know that he's an elder however Victor was bitten not born Sonia on the other hand born a vampire this may be a bit of a reach however it's certainly not too far off I certainly was hoping for more underworld in the future but obviously they're done with this now but it is what it is anyway great video

I’m sure about vampire wife. Viktor’s wife should have been human for Sonja to be born because as all vampire law goes: a male vampire can impregnate a human woman & a a female vampire can be impregnated by a male human but 2 vampires can’t procreate.

I wished we got to see more about humanity finding out about lycans and vampires. I liked the couple minutes we saw in Awakening but I wish we had seen more.

Hey Calvin, avoiding copyright all depends on several factors but the main one is that the footage used cannot be an exact reproduction of the original work.. for example, I mute the video, I edit the contrast, saturation and colour slightly, I make the footage slightly larger in size and sometimes I flip it.. once these changes are made it means that I have transformed the original content and it’s no longer copyright.. you also need to a detailed explanation for the company who own the footage explaining every change made. If they deem it acceptable they will allow the use of their footage to be monetised.. some companies just won’t budge at all however like Universal for example..
Viktor’s wife could have needed to have a caesarean section and the baby would have been cut out and due to the extreme procedure and no modern medical information would have been very bloody and basically massacred her! That may of been a reason for her death.

my thoughts on vampires having children. maybe in this world if a female vampire really truely wishes that she could have a child by her husband/lover then her body would aloud it. but the price could be her life. thats why viktor wife died. his daughter died whlie still pregnant and seline was in a coma of suits and she has very old blood in her vains. those are just my thoughts on all this though i could be wrong.

First of all, this is going to be a LONG comment explaining ALOT of the Underworld Lore. This is your warning.
Marcus lied to Viktor, telling him that if Marcus or William die, then the entire Vampire and Werewolf races will die with them. He lied to protect himself and William, as Viktor wanted to keep Werewolves as slaves but he wanted William dead as William was rabid to everyone except Marcus himself.
This was ingenious as Marcus kept himself alive and as well as his brother.
And Vampires can procreate, they aren't undead Vampires. They are still kind of semi human-esque, they are just infected by the Vampire-Corvinus strain of virus. So they can still mate with humans, other vampires and even werewolves and Lycans. Viktors wife died in childbirth because of this, Vampires can still die if they're shot or have enough blood loss. Selene almost died in the first Underworld movie when she saved Michael Corvin due to her injuries simply due to blood loss.
I can tell you're not *extremely* versed in Underworld lore. But it's like this:
The virus all started with Alexander Corvinus, who was the first Immortal. He was first infected in the late 4th century, when his village was afflicted by an unknown plague. But instead of dying, the virus had mutated him into the first True Immortal. He then had 2 twin sons, Marcus and William, who were also born Immortal.
Marcus was bit by a Vampire Bat who was infected with rabies, which mutated the Corvinus strain virus inside of his DNA, turning him into the first Vampire with the Vampire-Corvinus Strain Virus within him.
William was then bit by a wild wolf who was infected with rabies, which then mutated his immortal DNA into the first Werewolf, creating the Werewolf-Corvinus Strain Virus.
Marcus was able to keep the wild William under control, but only briefly. William then went on a rampage, turning entire villages into Werewolves. Marcus couldn't stop William on his own, even with his father's help if he wanted too, Alexander never got in between their issues. So with this being the case, Marcus went to a dying Warlord in Viktor, to exchange Immortality for the capture of William.
Now onto the Chain. The Chain had started in the 6th century, due to Marcus constantly pestering Viktor on the whereabouts of William. This tension had caused Viktor anxiety to the point he had hidden the key to William's cage within his own rib cage. Marcus was the strongest Vampire being the first, but Viktor had more battle experience, but he was still worried that Marcus would expose him for his lies, since Viktor told his coven he was the first Vampire. So the three elders then decided to start the chain, with Viktor taking the first reign. They would then switch off every century up to a point, only using each others blood to awaken each other so the elder waking up could see the previous elders memories during their time asleep. As vampires can see someone's memories, thoughts and feelings when they feed on their blood.

With Viktors first reign, he had wanted to imprison the werewolves and use them as his slaves and the vampires protectors during the day, since Vampires were deathly allergic to UV rays and Werewolves were immune to this weakness. This was the reason he kept Marcus alive and imprisoned William, as due to Marcus lying, Viktor thought if one of them die, so does their bloodlines.
So here's the thing about Werewolves, they lose all sense of being once they turn. The Werewolf Corvinus Strain was VERY infectious, as it turned someone as soon as their blood was infected. Even dead bodies would reanimate as soon as they were infected. This combined with the loss of all humanity and sense of self, pure Werewolves are extremely dangerous. One reason being that they are not able to regain their human form once turned.
But something had happened during Viktors reign, one of Viktors newly turned slaves was pregnant when she was turned, thus giving birth to a human child who had the ability to transform into a werewolf at will BUT he was able to regain his human form; Enter the new race, The Lycans.
This child born was Lucian. He was Viktors favorite slave as he was the first Lycan. A Lycan is still a werewolf, but they are able to turn back into their human form unlike their pure werewolf counterpart.
But Lucian fell in love with Viktors daughter Sonya, who was a pure born Vampire. A Pure Born Vampire is typically more powerful than a turned vampire, as both of their parents are Vampires, thus giving the child the power of the sum of their parts.
Lucian and Sonya were forbidden to be together, as Viktor feared the merging of the bloodlines, as he wanted to be the most powerful man in the most powerful race. But Sonya then became pregnant with Lucians child, which resulted in Viktor executing his own daughter as his fear of the merging outweighted his love for his daughter.
Thusly causing the Lycan-Vampire war that Viktor had then pinned on Lucian causing, when it was his own actions that had initiated the war.

Viktor then ordered his Elite team of Death Dealers to hunt and kill Lucian, with Kraven being a lowly ranked Death Dealer at this time. The Death Squad did indeed find Lucian, but it was a trap, as Kraven had worked with Lucian to rise in rank with Viktor, selling out the rest of the Death Dealers he was with. Lucian cut off the tattoo that showed he was a slave to Viktor and gave it to Kraven, who then took it back to Viktor as proof that he had killed Lucian. Their plan worked, and Viktor believed Lucian dead, Kraven rised to one of Viktors most trusted lieutenants while Lucian could hide without being hunted by Viktor and slowly gain power.
Lucian had wanted revenge against Viktor for the death of Sonya and their unborn child, and his plan was to fulfill Viktors greatest fear and merge the bloodlines into a Hybridization of the Vampires and Lycans.
Fast forward to the 20th century, with Selene becoming a death dealer and Viktors psuedo daughter, as he had killed his own daughter. Lucian was still working on his plan and looking for a descendant of Alexander Corvinus, someone who has the secrets of the untainted Immortal Corvinus Strain Virus buried in his genetic code. Enter Michael Corvin.
Lucian then found Michael and their experiments were successful, using Michaels blood as a catalyst, they were able to mix the Lycan Corvinus Strain and the Vampire Corvinus Strain into a Hybrid Corvinus Strain; *Half Vampire, Half Lycan, Stronger than both.*
With Selene exposing Kraven, Viktor went on the search for Lucian. But Kraven and Lucian had exposed the truth to Selene, that Viktor had killed her father and family, because her father was the smith who had created William's tomb and the keys to the tomb.
Viktor then finds out about Lucians plan, but he finds out too late. As Michael was already bitten by Lucian, turning him into a Lycan. But Michael was shot by Kraven once Kraven had figured out he was exposed, who had also shot Lucian.
Lucian then urged Selene to bite Michael to save him, as Selene had fallen in love with Michael. Lucian dying as he witnessed his revenge come to pass, as Viktors psuedo daughter in Selene had fallen in love with a Lycan and had turned him into a Hybrid.
Michael then fought Viktor as a newly turned Vampire-Lycan Hybrid, showcasing heightened strength, speed healing factor and agility, far surpassing any normal Vampire or Lycan asides from Marcus or William. Yet Viktors century's old battle experience had gained him the upper hand, until Selene stepped in and finally killing Viktor, avenging herself, her family, Sonya AND Lucian. They were then surrounded by the loose Lycans in the sewers, but they had stepped down, sensing that Michael was one of them, allowing them to leave unharmed.
The second movie highlights Hybridization, as this was the goal of Marcus, now knowing it was possible for the line of Corvinus to accomplish. With Lucians Lycan scientist Singe, being killed by Viktor in the first movie, Singes Lycanthropic blood has leaked into Marcus's tomb, ultimately awakening the First Vampire. Due to the Vampiric abilities to see the memories, thoughts and feelings of whoever's blood they are feeding upon, Marcus had awoken already knowing about the current situation. But more importantly, due to Singe being a Lycan, Marcus had turned into a Vampire-Lycan Hybrid.
To clarify, Marcus was a Vampire-Dominant-Lycan Hybrid after feeding on Singes blood. This was only possible due to Marcus being a Corvinus, and he was originally infected by the Immortal Corvinus Strain, so he was one of the few who were able to become a Hybrid.
So now knowing that Lucian planned to create a Hybrid in Michael Corvin, and knowing that Selene was the key to finding William, Marcus planned to track down Selene so she can lead him to William's tomb so he can finally free his brother.
But with Marcus becoming a Vampire-Lycan Hybrid, he had a plan to help William regain his sense of self. He wanted to make William become a Hybrid as well, in the hope that William would finally regain his human form and sense of self.
With the now uber powerful Hybrid Marcus chasing Selene and Michael, they went on the run. But he was able to track them down easily, as he was the only vampire with a truly vampiric form since he was the first Vampire and being able to fly.
Selene and Michael go to Tanis, Viktors history keeper, who had been banished and exiled as he had been telling people the truth of the vampires, that Marcus was the first and Viktor was lying.
Tanis then told Selene and Michael the truth of their races, the history of Alexander Corvinus and where to find him. He also warns them that Marcus must not be allowed to free his brother, as William is an uncontrollable beast.
Selene and Michael then continue to find Alexander, and succeed in doing so. But Marcus is not far behind, as he finds Tanis and drinks his blood to find out the truth. Marcus then leaves to follow Selene and Michael, as he now knows the secrets to free William, he just needs Selene so he can find out the location of William's tomb.
Now when Selene and Michael find Alexander Corvinus, Selene pleads with Alexander to stop his son, as he has the power to do so being the first True Immortal. But he refuses to do so, as he still has his humanity, and refuses to hurt his children. Marcus then finds them, and he and Michael get into a fight.
Even though Michael is a Hybrid as well, the Hybrid Marcus is just as strong a match for Michael and he seemingly kills him. Michael then goes to Selene and drinks her blood to find out the location of his brother. Once he does so, he faces his father and takes the keys to William's tomb, as Alexander had both keys in his possession. Marcus told his father his plan, to free his brother at last and create an entirely new race, a Vampire-Werewolf Hybrid race, one better than his failed Vampire race that followed Viktor.
After Marcus leaves, Selene then comes to a dying Alexander. He tells her that she must drink his *Pure Immortal Blood* as it will make her an *Enhanced Vampire-Corvinus Strain Vampire* and she does so, as this is the only way that she will have any chance to defeat William and Marcus.
Selene was a Vampire, but due to drinking Alexander's PURE, untainted Immortal Blood, the untainted Corvinus Strain had mixed and mutated Selenes Vampire-Corvinus Strain blood and had enhanced her abilities to that of a Hybrid. Creating the first Enhanced Vampire Corvinus Strain.
Alexander then tells his men, the cleaners, to follow and aid Selene in stopping his sons. They grab Michaels body and Alexander proceeds to detonate his base to get rid of any evidence of their presence to the human world.
Selene then finds Marcus, but they are too late. He had freed William, but he did not have enough time to turn William into a Hybrid. Selene and the Cleaners then fight Marcus and William, with William turning everyone he bites and scratches into Werewolves *instantaneously* as the original Werewolf-Corvinus Strain is very infectious. But since the cleaners had brought Michael's body, Michael had revived as he was resilient enough to survive Marcus's attack. Michael then kills all of the Werewolves that William had created and comes to Selenes aid.
The Enhanced Selene then fights the Hybrid Marcus while the pure Werewolf William fights the Hybrid Michael. William is powerful being the first original Werewolf, but the Hyrbidized Michael is just a bit more powerful than William and rips his head in half with his bare hands. Marcus, being distracted by his brothers death, is then killed by Selene, being thrown into the helicopter blades that were still spinning.
Marcus and William were then finally stopped and the entire Corvinus bloodline was gone except for Michael.
There is still so much that happens and so much lore, but I've already written so much. I love Underworld as it is VERY underrated and actually pretty in depth if you take the time to research the lore.
