- It’s pretty clear that if anyone was to be considered the face of the Underworld series then it would ultimately have to be Selene.
She is the main protagonist in all of the underworld movies and one of the most skilled, deadly and powerful vampires in existence. In today’s video I’m going to take you back to Selene’s origins, her beginnings and how she made her way through centuries of war, false belief and betrayal. Selene, out of all the Underworld characters has one of the most interesting stories to discover, its completely fascinating, its so well written and I’m really excited to bring that story to you all today from start to finish. This is one the longest videos I’ve ever made so I’d greatly appreciate if you could like video so it gains enough traction.

Thank you Kate Beckinsale for not only giving life to this character but for making her a legend in vampire folklore she is one of the ultimate badasses besides Blade. I would love a comic of Selene crossing over into both DC & Marvel but that will never happen it's just wishful thinking on my end.
Technically there is a Selene in Marvel, which this Selene is quite loosely based off of. Selene Gallio.

She is another great example of a force of will. Same way John Wick is driven, Selene is the same. Or vice versa since Underworld predates John Wick.
And she is the PERFECT example you can write a strong and interesting Female Lead Character without going Woke!!!

Ill never forget her first moment when sunlight touches her skin. I was crying. They love to put our girl through it! Also, that didnt like like her shoulder bub, lol. That went like right through her whole torso !
I believe there is a chance Michael can still be revived as Victor was in the first movie. Everyone believed him dead, but Lycans may not be aware of the process the elders used to "leap-frog" through time. But I do see the series at an end (for now) and that may never come to pass.
Vampires can be imprisoned be it by choice like the Elders or by force as punishment for misdeeds thru desecation which can be achieved by either draining all the Blood from their Bodies or by preventing them from getting more Human Blood both leading to the same painfull but NOT deadly result of desecation.
If the Lycan has really done it exactly the way Selene saw it and just threw out the Body then Michael is 100% still alive all tho unable to move or Speak but he can be brought back by simply supplying him with Blood.
On the other hand if the Lycan dysected him after draining all the Blood then he is fully dead there is no coming back from that since the only reason Vampires survive wounds Humans can't is because of their insane healing Factor which is soley powered by Human Blood consumption.
@@Frankenstein_ I do assume that Michael was drained of his blood as would be the logical progression of events from Marius's plans. What he did w/ the body might not be of any concern to him and his fate beyond that is unknown, thus him having that chance of still being able to be revived. But you're right about the options on his ultimate fate. But those are only options. That still leaves the possibility of his survival open whether likely or not. Which was my point. And my idea for series final antagonist would be Alexander Corvinus's third son who remained hidden all those centuries waiting until vampires and lycans weaken themselves enought to finish off both of them. In this scenario Michael becomes new leader of the lykans and finally makes peace with vampires and both races cooperate in final battle that ends whole saga and reunites Corvin family....

Hate to say it but I think this franchise is over. The actor who played Michael didn’t want to come back to the franchise after the 2nd movie and thats why they killed him off. I love this franchise but its just kinda dead sadly.

I think Marcus could've also have survived sunlight, but wasn't sure of it. It was long thought that Selene was a vampire/immortal hybrid when she took Alexander's blood, and made David one. But that has been dropped and they're both still pure vampires but stronger. There is an anime short film of Blood War where she's hunting 3 lycan brothers. Kate Beckinsale did say she would reprise her role if a 6th film was underway; if so then Michael should return having survied. He did survived being impaled by Marcus, so blood loss should've healed. David did say in Awakening the elders betrayed her fist, so their downfall was rightful retribution for their own sins. Therefore, hunting her, then pardoning was for nothing. The vampires should've left her alone, regardless of Victor's and Marcus's ranks. They had it coming. Personally now, I think the 2 races should try to make peace since Victor was the one who started the war and betrayed his whole race, is dead. And there has been nothing but death and carnage for both of them. If they want to continue until one is left standing or none at all...then this is gonna go on forever. Peace is the only way to stop it, it maybe hard to do, but its always a working progress.
I like wat ur saying but the only problem with that is that they confirm in blood wars that micheal is 100% dead because the villain of that film found him, killed him and then basically took every bit of him that he can to make himself stronger until there was literally nothing left of Michael but a vile of blood. So unfortunately he got the worst treatment in these films

Selene is probably my second favorite Vampire hunter/ fighter after Blade of course like she's so awesome and NGL I thought they were trying to set Selene up with David after Micahel had been out of the picture for so long ( only because Scott Speedman refused to come back) I was like nah don't make Selene and David a thing it's too soon but by blood wars it's clear they just have a very close friendship
I saw an interview with Scott Speedman years ago where he said he was never invited back and that he didn't know why. The movies just aren't the same without him.

@@matthiascerebri3315if going by blood wars technically yes the things she can do without having any weaknesses is insane her strength is probably higher then the blade vampire especially thanks to Alexander’s blood. Add on the fact she is 600 years old and trained to kill from viktor mind you who was known to be beyond ruthless and she had a higher kill rate for lycans as a death dealer. Don’t get me wrong I love blade it would be an epic battle between the 2 but Selene is on another level.
I wish they had replaced the actor who played Michael instead of killing him off.

Yeah, it sucks I wanted to see him become one of the most powerful hybrids ever existed & they kill the franchise by killing him off way too early. Selene's story has been told we now would've followed Michael's journey into a new world as a creature of the night he would've used his skills as up & coming doctor or nurse in his human life to help both species. He would've been the Carlisle Cullen of the vampires & lycans of course he & Selene would've faced other threats & prejudices from both sides because some fear Michael since he is a hybrid a very powerful one at that. Michael grows more confident as his powers grow & is trained by Selene later on we would learn that Michael isn't the only hybrid in existence there are others they were just in hiding they decide to form their own clan & want Michael to join them but he refuses his place & heart is by Selene's side along with their child Eve. Then there's lycans who are now immune to silver thanks to Jacob & his experiments also Quint wasn't the only uber lycan to be created & that's not their only problem Semira is still alive think back when Lucian put a sword in Viktor's brain it wasn't a fatal strike to kill him. The same happens with Semira when David puts a sword in her brain she survives & returns not only for revenge against Selene for killing the elder Viktor, for David for killing her but to once again rule over the covens. She's pretty much the female version of Kraven Selene & Michael have another child this time even more powerful hybrid thanks to not only Michael being a hybrid but also to Selene who was taken to the scared world their child is a boy whom they named after Selene's father & Michael's forefather Alexander Corvinus I'm just throwing ideas out for the franchise.

That's why I'm still praying 🙏 3 times a day for an Underworld 6 with Scott Speedman and Kate Beckinsale back as Michael Corvin and Selene one last time, giving their characters the happy ending they deserve and a proper conclusion to the Underworld Franchise.
Would love to see a prequel trilogy/TV series that explores Selene's life before the movies during the later lycan war! From being freshly turned to making the leap into the first movie!
Or tell a new story with different/new characters about vampires and Lycans in America.

I wish they’d have recast Michael rather than write the character out. Don’t get me wrong though I loved Speedman I just had a hard time believing his characters 28:35 fate in the movies.
Kate Beckinsale did say she ould repraise her role if there's to b a 6th film. If so, then Michael should live, since he did survived being impaled. Blood loss should've healed too.
For what I know and I remember… Speedman wasn’t recast as Michael because Len Wiseman (director of the first 2 movies and husband of Kate at the time) was jealous of the chemistry between Kate and Scott 🥴 It’s a shame because I really liked the two together, it would have been a great companionship and storyline for the upcoming movies (personal opinion)

I hope to meet you someday because you’re an amazing person and your videos are awesome. I’ve never found any UA-cam channel more amazing, in terms of vampires and werewolves mythology. You amaze me like so much I love your details and everything you do shows how much you have a passion for these kinds of videos, and I don’t know anything about news on a upcoming underworld movie, but something tells me that they won’t be making another one and Kate Beckinsale is done with the Underworld movies I haven’t heard anything or have seen anything about a upcoming movie, but something tells me they might try to reboot the series with new characters or actors and actresses portraying them, and probably changing the storyline which I would hate for them to do but I have a feeling they might do that, instead of creating the next chapter in the franchise!!!!

My dream scenario for final of the Underworld saga would be if Eve found Michael, resurrected him with her hybrid blood and then he becomes new lycan leader who finally makes a pece with vampires after reuniting with Selene. Whereas the final antagonist of the series would be Alexander Corvinus's third son who remained hidden all those centuries and waited until both races weaken themselves enought to finish off both of them so they have to cooperate against him to survive. The final battle would include: Selene, Michael, Eve, David and eventually Varga and vampires from the north. After it the Corvin family would be finally reunited in peace....

There needs to be an Underworld-Blade crossover. It would be awesome to see Blade and Selene working together.
Something that always bugged me; David is not a pure blood, because Amelia never was one. She was just the 2nd (after Viktor) turned by Markus. Markus was the only ever "pure blood" vampire. William the only ever "pure blood" werewolf.
Actually David would be the first pure blood regardless if Amelia was turned or not because both of his parents were vampires like technically eve is a pure born as well only David and eve are ones. Eve may be a hybrid however she was born not turned like Micheal. In this pure born means born not turned that is what they mean by it. While Amelia was turned she didn’t turn David he was a natural born.
@@Mcherri you make a good point. So i should change what I said. I guess what always bugged me, then, is when Viktor and Amelia are called 'pure bloods'. Because, as you said, they were both turned, and not born vampires.
@@chrisi621 exactly only David and Eve are the only pure ones to exist so it’s possible to for these vamps to procreate it just may be harder for vampires then lycans that’s why Selene got pregnant easily because she is a hybrid along with Micheal. Plus it’s a virus that’s makes them immortal so all their parts should still be working so to speak they aren’t technically dead like the vampires from the vampire diaries.

Few years ago, I made this fanfic where the reason why selene looked like Sonja was because Sonja is selene‘s mother who had given up the child to a couple that wanted children in order to protect her child and years later Victor had hired the father to build him the fortress, because Sonja had told him that he was the best of the best in his field.
How would she have hidden a pregnancy from Victor before her change? She couldn't hide anything from him after her change.

Michels story was the damsel in distress trop flipped- but men watching wouldn’t allow anything less then being shot to ‘stop him’ lol.. I hate how they tried his character as a red hairing only for him to be killed by some random. Saline deserved better. And I could never hate the lycans as they were fighting for a place i the world - hunted for centuries for just being. I wish Saline has said ‘we are not enemies’.. because she was still carrying out Victors mission- even though the vampires where losing be the end of it. So many missed opportunities.

I really hate that Michael was killed off off screen, not that the production team did it, but because of how it affects Selene's story. Selene kills her "adoptive father" (cause he killed hers) for Michael who was just going to die in a few scant years (to an immortal) anyway. Also, other than David no one in that damn 4th film had any charisma besides Selene, with the Werewolf guys being completely awful (I've seen better acting in porn). If Michael had to die I wish it had meant something - like something that would haunt Selene going forward.
Didn't selene try to revive michael after she had drank Alexander's blood and thats what helped him, i would of love to have seen a movie about Alexander and it end with the construction of the secret dungeon and William's capture

She appers as a child in that movie, it was her father that built the prison for William.
