Very clear video, thank you. Just like other videos / web pages / book sections on Dutch word order, I learn a little something new from each source. So I'd recommend to my fellow Dutch learners to look at multiple sources for this kind of complicated topic. Of course, the other sources will not be as entertaining or memorable as Kim's video, but they will help. Kim's quizzes in the link are great practice and in my opinion are very worth the 1 euro cost.
Hey Kim, thank goodness for the Internet! You published this video over two years ago, and I just found it today. What a great explanation of word order in Main Sentences in Dutch. Dank je wel!
After going through so many Dutch lessons, this is the first time I feel close to master Dutch in the future (hopefully). Your video has motivated me to promote to learn more!
I’ve been learning Dutch on my own mostly on Duolingo, but I just try to memorise and never understand the logic of it or forget about it… but now! I’ve got it! Thanks to you! You’re the best! This year will keep watching videos of you often. I always had, but now I will start with grammar more
Kim I love your videos so so much. You make learning Dutch so enjoyable. I've never felt more confident in learning a language. Seeing so much progress in my learning. Dank je wel!!!
Thank you. This is the best lesson in the basket for beginners, and I hope that it is the second lesson after learning the letters, in order to clarify how the sentence structure is in the Dutch language. Thank you Kim from the heart. I wish I had a bank account to support you and then participate in all the courses you offer. RAAD WAJEEH , 17 YEARS , YEMEN.
Some years ago I visited Amsterdam and fell in love with place, the people and the language. I was just walking on the streets when I heard so many words similar to German and English. I know it's not hard to learn, but I should learn how to be less procrastinator and give myself the chance to learn this so wonderful language. Well, anyroads, your videos are AMAZING and I watch them all. By the way, hopefully I can find some free pdf with the audios of those books in your library.
Goeiemorgen, here i am for my new Dutch lesson. Kim, i lost you since the minute 5:09 'til the end. At the beginning i thought you were explaining the "question form" when you switched from IK HEB to HEB IK, but then i realized that you were talking about something else but very important that i didn't understand, can you explain me with a comment what the swtch between ik and heb is about, please?
Hallo Kim ! Vandaag heb ik jouw video heel interessante gevonden. De volgorde van de woorden is het moeilijker ding in het Nederlands voor mij. Uw uitleg is zeer nuttig. Dank u wel !!!
Ben in den Helder geboren en op ander haalf jaar in 1952 met mijm ouders naar Kanada emigrerden. Ik kon altijd Nederlands sprak begrijpen maar het niet goed pronouncen(?). Ik vind je filmpjes wonderbaarlijk om spreek te oefenen.
That is amazing! I've learned the TMP (Time - Manner - Place) construction and this video is a 2.0 version of it. It is more well explained and shows that, despite of us having more complexity, there is always a clear structure that "holds everything together". Dankjewel Kim! Hallo! Ik heet Vini en ik kom uit Brazilie. Nu woon ik in Zeeland en voor mij, het is heel belangrijk Nederlands leren. Vandaag heb ik al twee videos van Kim gekeken. Ik moet altijd - en beetje bij beetje - meer en meer studeren! En... dat is een goede ideee: Vandaag ga ik ook met mijn vriend op de markt meer bananen kopen. Misschien ook meer quark - Quark is lekker, of niet? Yummy!
I can't take the online course but I wish I could 😢. But I wanna say thank you so much. Not long ago I saw one of your videos and then I fall in love with your work. Really appreciate it. Thank u so much
3:59 when you say it is impossible, does that mean that nobody says it that way? What would the perception be if somebody was to use this structure? Would it be confusing?
I love your videos, congratulations! I'd just love the explanations in English. I understand the "let's do all in Dutch so you get use to it and associate concepts without translating", but you don't get as much benefit from that as you lose from poorly understanding the concepts, and the subtitles make it harder unnecessarily. I think for that purpose we have already the listening exercises. It's just a comment, please still be so proud of yourself for an amazing content and helping us so much!! ☺😍
It's helped me to watch the video or parts of the video twice with English subtitles! I try to challenge myself to understand as much as I can with Dutch subtitles and then rewind and turn on the English ones if I'm uncertain about what was said.
Hey Kim, I really enjoying learning from your videos. They are very precise and easy to understand especially the way you explain. Can i also request you to help with KNM knowledge as it would be helpful for people like me who are planning for Inburgeren examen. Thanks in advance.
Thank you! It's really important indeed, so maybe in the future I can make some videos about that! (Right now I have so many other videos in the queue.. haha!)
0:00 I've learned English, French and now Dutch. This is so true in these three languages 🤣🤣. In Spanish (my native language) and Italian, you can just drop the pronoun or even place it far from the verb. So they're not "married" at all 😂
"Kopen" should be an easy to verb for any 20-something American English speaker to easily remember! In slang/urban speech, "to cop" something means to buy/get/grab something.
Hallo Kim.
Oh wow this video was mind blowing! I feel like finally understood this “iversie” rule in Dutch😃Dankje well! Surprisingly there’s a bit of similarity with Japanese word order😳
Goedemiddag miss kim. I tried to form the sentence "The boy becomes cheerful when he sees food" in dutch and this is what i got : vanneer wordt de jongen vrolijk hij Voedsel zien Please check it for me
Hey Kim, thank you for all the hard work on making learning easier for us! I recently came across a situation where Subject and Verb are a little separated. Here it is: "Als je daar blijft..." will you please clear that out for me?
Got it... it's because of the conjuction "als" used in PHRASES, which is an exception from V2 rule and puts the verb last. This video is about simple sentences word order. Mea culpa! 🤓👍

I am finding this extremely difficult to follow when it's all in Dutch :( Considering it's an NT2 beginners course, it's too much to be entirely in Dutch at this stage. Yes, there are English subtitles, but these are sometimes difficult to see because they are on top of the Dutch subtitles which makes them hard to read. Plus, if I am reading English subtitles, I am not really paying attention to that is going on. At which point I might as well be reading a book.
Thanks. This will help for the future. I just started studying Dutch a couple weeks back. I’m kinda curious: Aan, in, bij and op all mean ‘at’ right? How are they different.
Hallo Kim. dank u wel jouw gezeellige videos. in dit video, mag ik deze zin anders maken? Mag object eerder komen? Bijvoorbeeld: ik ga morgen bananen met Deby .....
What will you be teaching wor next huh Kim? :) Separable verbs? :) Please correct me if I’m wrong but what I think the crack is with separable verbs is... They are also... “Compound verbs?” Sometimes?! XD Meaning if wor verb starts or ends with either an adjective or a preposition, then wor verb comes after the subject then the secondary part of the separable verb comes at the very end! XD “Hij raakt me aan” “He’s touching me” See? “Aanraken” “Raak”/“touch” is wor main verb and “aan” is wor preposition because; “aan” means “attached” right? :)

XD And if not, the word; “a”/ “an” (en elle et) En or et) it comes at the very end of the word! XD Bah! Screw Norwegian! 😝😝😝 Dutch for the win! ;) 😃😃😃🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱

Omdat we de “d” in die woorden vaak niet uitspreken, maar officieel moet je “houd” schrijven
