The Citroen C4 Picasso is one of the most famous family MPVs around but faces some strong competition nowadays. To keep it fresh and up to standards, Citroen gave the C4 Picasso a mild facelift earlier this year which included some styling updates and improvements for the interior.
Another recent change is the introduction of Citroen’s small but feisty 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. Can an engine this size really work on a family car as big as this? We’ve put the C4 Picasso through its paces with this new engine to see how well it holds up and we’ve looked into how well the car performs in other important areas including practicality, comfort and running costs.
In this review, we take an in-depth look at the interior of the Citroën C4 Picasso including its boot size, dashboard and back seats. We then run through performance, price and finish up with the all-important verdict - is the Citroën C4 Picasso a good car?
Constantly updated, Car Keys provides first-hand video reviews, as well as all of the latest car news.

Nothing but praise for PSA’s 1.2 puretech engine.
More economical than fords ecoboost, Koreans T-GDI and it’s equivalent in the German TSI range and produces practically Diesel engine levels of torque.
I’ve driven 4 different cars with either 110 or 130 puretechs and when used with the EAT torque converter automatic it’s an absolute dream.

Good review, for best economy get the diesel. My 2 ltr easily does more than 500miles/tankful but would recommend the 1.5 ltr diesel for super economy. The 2ltr is really overpowered for the type of car.

Is the location for this review Formby Point? The Scotch Piper pub in Lydiate gets a look in right at the end too.

If I was buying then I would choose a Diesel and I like the Flair Trim better

I have owned a Diahatsu 900 cc 3 cylinder but the actual car was smaller than this but it made a excellent city car, Down side was they will not release information to any other garages or Haynes so no manual? I have always said small car 1.3, Med car 1.6 and Big car 2.0 Minimum and tend to stick to that. Underpowered cars use more fuel as the engine has to work harder. This could be my next car as I want an Automatic with sliding rear doors and 5 rather than 7 seats. I was trying to find a video showing the Automatic gear selector in use, You all ention it as an option but do not show it?

I don't think it looks as smart at the front as the pre facelift model. This looks more fussy.

That 3 pot engine in something so big and heavy must mean it's as sluggish as a slug covered in salt! I'm guessing you have to rev the balls off it to make it pull so bang goes your fuel economy. Come on Citroen you can do better than this!

Dan Weeks Have you driven one with this engine?

Dan Weeks don't you think a company as big as Citroen had already thought about this before putting it in the car. of course they did so much time and research goes into just tiny tiny thing we don't even think about. I'm sure they covered the engine within all this.

130hp and 240nm at very low rpm. It's been awarded engine of the year for at least two years.

Tony It's far from ugly! You obviously don't appreciate unique design.
