Are so many Faux this and Faux that as well Shutter cards of all sorts so I would stick with the Fractured name for exchange . Also out of pure laziness, Fractured is much easy to memorize it 😁 Great job , enjoyable tutorial . Thank you for sharing . New sub. , your video has been suggested by You Tube .
Thank you so much! I agree with Fractured card, as well. I appreciate your letting me know that my video was suggested by UA-cam. Welcome to Village Card and Crafts!
I've watched several videos teaching this technique. I'm just asking why cut the squares and not just glue the strips as shown? Would it not give the same effect?
That’s a great question, Janet. Of course you can do that. However, if you venture from the square to say an octagon, that’s where it gets so much more difficult without the pattern. Some of the more complex shapes you can. do every other side, so you wouldn’t have the original shape as your guide.
Thank you! The size is up to you, but I used squares that were 1 3/4" and 2 1/4". It really does depend on the size of your card and how it looks. Go wild!
Thank you! Fractured card is like a “Broken” card or faux shutter is like a shutter in a camera lens. Either way I think these are super easy and cute! 😊

I love this card. I watched Robin’s video first and I think you even made it more simple. I think faux shutter is a better name.

@@villagecardandcrafts I made one and it’s posted!
It’s awesome!
“Fractured” works for me, as a “Shutter” wouldn’t have lines going out to the edges, correct?
Very cool. Just linked from Reddit. 🎉
Thank you so much!

You’re welcome!
Just I saw this video, I love this style!
Did you ever make a hexagon or an octagon instead of the square? Are there pictures anywhere?
No I haven’t because I don’t have those dies (yet). Do you? If youve done it with that shape would you share it in our FB group?
Please share the sizes of the 2 square dies used, thanks. love the card!
Thank you! The size is up to you, but I used squares that were 1 3/4" and 2 1/4". It really does depend on the size of your card and how it looks. Go wild!

Not sure what the names mean though.
