I always remember to use my anti static bag, it has become routine for me…I watched a crafting programme on the TV yesterday, the demonstrator did not use one and her heat embossing was a dogs breakfast with the heated powder in places it should not have been, a real mess. My heart went out to her, when I make a mistake at least it is in my home and no one else knows.
I forget most of the time to us the antistatic embossing bag. I have found if I use the bag on black or other dark coloured card it makes the card appear dusty which tens to put me off using it so I only use it on light coloured card (when I remember).
Thank you, these cards are stunning! Love the double embossing...and wow, those emb folders from Altenew are gorgeous!! I found the tip using 2 pieces of card stock for 3D embossing super helpful - thank you so much!
Beautiful cards!! Great ideas, TY so much for this inspiration. I like them all, but the last one gets me thinking of a possibility of a gift set with 4 different colors--inks on white, or 4 different color cardstocks!! Love your style of teaching btw! TY!! 🧑🏼🎨😀
Such cool ideas! I love both the double embossing folder design and the score lines to separate the sections. Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks, too! I forgot my anti-static powder almost 100% of the time the whole first year I did heat embossing 😂 I'm much better about it now but it still happens. You're definitely not alone!
@@villagecardandcrafts no I totally get it, I have done the same myself then really wanted to kick myself because I STILL forgot to use it! This suggestion however, might actually work for me and I am going to try it so .... Thank you @lornapayne2805 for that one!
Love your cards!! I had not thought of using two pieces of cardstock, but I will be doing this for sure!! Sometimes I remember to use the embossing bag!!! I like partial embossing. I have not done this but I will!! Thanks for sharing!!
Love all your demonstrations beautiful cards . I used to forget to to use my anti- static bag so I put a label on top of the versamark ,works a treat.😅
This is easily one of your BEST tutorials (i love them all)!! I enjoy very simple techniques and this is the new top on my list. Can’t wait to try this out with my many newly organized embossing folders- thanks for sharing!
Very nice technique. I really do like the way you put your tutorials together. Simple, straightforward instructions, easy to follow. ❤I'm getting better at remembering to use the antistatic powder, but still forget. And even when i don't squish my sentiments the embossing still distorts the words. 😢
I’m so glad you enjoy my tutorials! That makes my heart happy. 😃 are you using superfine embossing powder? If not, that may be your issue. The thicker embossing powders are great for techniques, but not so great for embossing sentiments.
Beautiful cards! I think my favorite is the one with the silvery platinum ink over the embossing. I even have that same Simon Says Stamp birthday stamp set you got your greeting from. An oldie but a goodie! :) Am I correct in assuming that the extra piece of cardstock you put in the embossing folder is also 65 lb.? That alone is a brilliant tip, especially as I have & use a lot of lighter weight cardstock like that. I have also done partial embossing, but only ever with just one folder. I never thought of using 2 on one panel. Another tip for "erasing" errant embossing or score lines like you did with the dots - I use my Teflon bone folder with my cardstock on my self-healing cutting mat. I don't know if it's necessary to have a surface with a little give like my mat, but I've never really tried it on a truly hard surface. Works like a dream, though, & because the bone folder is kind of blunt, I don't have to be concerned about pressing too hard & further debossing the cardstock in a way I don't want. I find that it works best if the embossing isn't too deep or pronounced, though. Otherwise, you still might have "marks." Oh, & not to brag, but I always remember to use my anti-static pouch. :) Thank you for sharing. Take care, & have an awesome day! :)
Adding the scorelines to tidy off the ragged edge of the pattern really did the trick - nice one. I can't bring myself to make cards with dragged ink over embossing because the ink getting accidentally in the depressions feels like a mistake to me. Any tips or tricks on that?
Thank you! As far as ink dragging…no real tips except to let it go! Be free my crafty friend! You see imperfection, but I see creativity. If you don’t care for a special blob that occurs cover it up with a sentiment or die cut. Sometimes I just embrace it and chalk it to handmade not commercially produced. Your recipient will likely not notice, but they will take notice of the time it took for you to make them something lovely. Remember it’s only paper. Turn it over or toss it out and start again. 💕
I rather enjoy the slightly larger folders. Sizzix makes 4x6 ones consistently which allows for the folder to turn either direction in the die cutting machine. However, I do enjoy the versatility of a larger folder. I can make two of something at the same time or even a 5x7 card if the mood strikes!
Maybe 50% of the time 🙄 Did you say that those flashcards were something we could download? I would like to do that. Where can I find them. BTW loved these techniques. Can’t wait to try them❤

Arghh, I forgot to say how much I enjoy your video’s….they give me great pleasure. Thank you.
I learned the hard way to lay my anti-static bag on top of my Versamark when I put out embossing supplies.
I forget most of the time to us the antistatic embossing bag. I have found if I use the bag on black or other dark coloured card it makes the card appear dusty which tens to put me off using it so I only use it on light coloured card (when I remember).
Lovely cards and ideas, thank you. I always forget my embossing bag almost every time!!!

Awesome, thank you!🤩
Lovely and amazing. I have so many challenges with 3D. Appreciate your instructions.
I’m glad it’s helpful! Thank you! 💕
Great ideas! I also learned at a class recently to try using a baby wipe on the cardstock before doing 3D embossing. So far, it's worked!
Yes, baby wipes will absolutely work. I personally prefer a mister or a damp washcloth for less waste. But do whatever works for you! 💕
I always forget the embossing powder. I love all of these cards
Thank you! 🩷
I like them all.
Thank you! 😊
They were brilliant. Yes I always forget to use he embossing powder.

How do you come up with so many ideas? ❤
Good question! A LOT of research and a lot of play! 😀
Head of the class for remembering to use anti static bag! Yes the white card is also 65# 😊
Love these cards and techniques!!
How do you get smudged distressed oxides ink off the card stock?
Thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you! If I smudge something I typically leave it. Have you tried a sand eraser?
❤

I have a spellbinders platinum 6, where did you purchase your metal plate? Sometimes my embossing folder doesn't result in good impressions.
I believe I purchased it from Simon Says Stamp.
Wouldn't it be great if they made 4.25x5.5 inch embossing folders?
I rather enjoy the slightly larger folders. Sizzix makes 4x6 ones consistently which allows for the folder to turn either direction in the die cutting machine. However, I do enjoy the versatility of a larger folder. I can make two of something at the same time or even a 5x7 card if the mood strikes!
