Big Questions with The Dead Milkmen: Old Musicians Who Don't Suck
Вставка

- More often than not, the older a band gets the more they suck. There are some bands however who have bucked this trend and have continued to produce good music into retirement age. Rodney asks, "what musicians have been around for decades but don't suck" and develops a formula which leads him to the ultimate decades-old act that still doesn't suck. His aging band mates offer up some other contenders as well in this entertaining episode.

Sparks! Hell yeah!
My submission to the topic is The Dead Milkmen. They're a band who've spanned decades and manages to be consistently great with each and every release. Hopefully you guys have heard of them.
How did we not mention Bryan Ferry??? There will be a meeting about this on Monday.
Tom Waits 🎶
Sparks have been my favorite band for 22 years.
Yes the Melvin’s! Just saw them live and killed it! They are touring with Mr bungle who definitely don’t suck! Mike patton is still blowing everyone away in all his projects and absolutely don’t suck!
Thank you for your continued baddassery. I discovered you guys in 9…4 I think, 94. Big lizard in my backyard was the soundtrack of my post pubescence and I’ve passed that on to my son. Keep up the great work and I’ll continue to tell the world about you!!
I'll defend the French tuck because it keeps my belt buckle or even the button from ripping out belly hairs. As for that new Sparks song/video, it may be the first music recommendation from Rodney I agree with. Love the dance routine 💃
My favourite bands are sparks, dead milkmen and pixies. Great pick, Rodney ❤
I have to agree with Joe on the Violent Femmes. They just keep releasing music I want to hear.
I just saw the Violent Femmes this week and had an amazing time.
If you get to see Gary Numan on his current tour, don't miss it.
"Canadian tuck" to match the "Canadian tux" (jeans with jean jacket!) - fully buttoned is HIGH dress... untucked, or with a lumberjack shirt, possibly tied around your waist, or like a Scottish sporran/kilt combo. LOVE cure and damned- OGs, period, especially the captain- just caught the darkadellic tour in milan- awesome! brought my pick-guard to get cap's sig, but fugger snuck out a side door! met the others, and chatted with drummer- cute tyke- was in harry potter as an Auror!
Also….since 92…from Halifax/Toronto, Sloan. Just released their 13th album, original lineup. I can listen to them on repeat all day long…another band I listen to on repeat all day long…Dead Milkmen. Can’t wait for the new album.
Interesting that you brought up Gary Numan, because I just saw him open for Ministry a few weeks ago and he was pretty awesome. TBH, I hadn't been familiar with his stuff, other than what's come on the radio from back in the day. He was a lot heavier than I thought he was going to be, and his set fucking rocked. Ministry was also still great live, although I wish they'd played more of their old stuff than they did. Their new stuff wasn't bad though.
Happy Birthday Rodney and Dean!
Just starting this video, but Weird Al better be in the conversation.
If I had to exclude Sparks and The Dead Milkmen, I would go with A-ha. They have been going for yonks, recorded loads of albums and are really good live. Happy birthday for Sunday.
Happy birthday guys…best part about turning 60 is that if you get asked your age you can answer “ 3 score”..and let them figure it out
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
