This video was so helpful girl!!! Today is my first day working for myself and I just needed that extra push to map out Feb! Thanks for giving me some extra motivation!
This video has helped me understand more about what I NEED building a photography business than those vague inspirational videos. At least this gives me an idea about the aspects in building your business in a less stress manner but in a realistic view💖
15 shoots per week!! I can't believe that lol - great video! I have a new product photography business and am definitely considering all of this when deciding how much work to schedule for myself.
Yea definitely way too much! Along the way you’ll find out how much you’d like to realistically take on. Usually we Identify this when we’re close to burn out and find out how much work is too much!
Thanks for the insight. I'm not actually a photographer or want to be one but I am launching a product business soon. Even though I have had elements of it through out my studies along with editing, I will definitely be outsourcing so it was great to hear about how things can be priced and rough estimates. If I were to outsource this type of work and loved the results, loved working with them.. it would be great to hear from them in the future, giving me a heads up of when to start booking another shoot. That would let me know how their schedule works and let me get a jump start on upcoming things, it's not sleazy at all because of the type of industry it is. I hope people realise that.
You’re so welcome! And thank you for the insight as well! I love that you have their perspective and would want that from your product photographer. So many product photographers get booked out so quickly now due to demand.
Hey Brittany! I’ve never done paid ads for my business. It’s all been organic via Instagram. I did a video on how to book clients here which might be of help 😊 ua-cam.com/video/FT3ogHV95UE/v-deo.html
Why not just start hiring a small team to execute creative work when you are at the 30-40k mark seems like it makes sense. If you have a partner then it's getting split so I get that. Just curious!
Great question! I have thought about bringing on other photographers and at times I do use others for more personal branding work. But for product photography my clients come to me for my creative and not someone else’s. But there is room to outsource other areas of the business like editing and admin which we do now 😊
@@amandacampeanu Got it! Very cool. I spoke to a biz coach about this, so maybe it's just personal preference but..for ex: when you shop at amazon we arent expecting jeff bezsos to process our order, lol. I think the same can be applied to a creative biz. Clients came to me to design websites but I still had other designers doing the work..they still got my creativity because I handled creative direction etc and made sure expectations are exceeded.
Hey Amanda! Really enjoyed this video! My problem is that I currently don’t really have any brands reaching out for photos (maybe once every 3 months) I wondered if you have any tips on how I can find small businesses that I could reach out to so that I can take photos for their products?
Hey Tom! Instagram will be your best source for finding brands to reach out to. Choose what niche you’d ideally like to start with and use hashtags to find those brands. 😊
Hi mam. I have a question🙋 please help. Let's assume I do product photography or videography. Ok? Now where can I sell them. What's my market potential. Please guide me mam.
Hello thankyou for your reply 😊😊. Just wondering which one you use the most? Because i already own a 24-70mm lenses and i have a plan to buy the macro one, but i am not sure that i will use the macro lens that much.
Any advice on how to find and/or approach potential clients in "need"? I've only ever produced our own product photography, but I'd like to make a side career of it. Thanks in advance, and thanks for your time
Create the work you want to be hired for. Creating good quality work and marketing yourself consistently on social media and pitching yourself goes a long way. Always have a long-term mindset though as these things won’t happen overnight. But first and foremost I’d focus on creating high quality photos that would attract the clients you want to work with 😊
Thanks Natasha! My course is definitely still open yes 😊 I never close it. You’ll find the link just and discount code in the description box of this video. The Facebook group is active. I’m in there daily answering questions from the students and I’m always working on new updates for the course as well. Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@amandacampeanu thank you so much! Definitely going to be enrolling! I was wondering if you do photography for brands not located in Australia? I have a small business in Oahu and I remember getting a message from a company based in Florida looking for clients/products to photograph. I don’t know if that’s common or something you personally practice?
@@itsnatashadavis we do yes! We have quite a few clients are are based overseas from USA, Canada, UK and Germany. Definitely common for this to happen. When someone loves your work, it doesn’t matter to them where you live. 😊
@@itsnatashadavis depends on what you’re wanting to know surrounding the topic. Many students have asked about international payments inside the Facebook group. But the process for international clients is the same in terms of workflow and onboarding as domestic clients 😊
Depends on how our month goes. Some months it’s $10k on photography alone, other times that’s made up of video clients as well. We average about $15-20k per month at the moment with photo and video
Can you share your strategy step by step. I am a new product photographer, building portfolio ( some tips please). Suck at marketing too. Need/ request guidance, hence asked query above.
Only 10k a month with that many shoots? You are doing something wrong. My product shoots are $50k+ each and I only need to shoot 2 or 3 a month. $130k a year? You should be doing that every month. Work smarter, not harder.
I think we need to remember that there are different levels of photography. I don’t have any clients at the moment who would pay $50k for a shoot. I also don’t own the equipment to warrant charging that much. For us $10k is a minimum. We often earn $20-30k a month and we have a very well balanced life. It sounds like you have been in the industry a lot longer than me and therefore can charge more. It’s great to know what’s possible!

I use Dubsado and Google Calendar 😊

Hi, I really like your work. I'm your big fan, but I wanna know how many images do you give to your customers per project?
Thanks so much! It really depends on what the client requires. It could be anywhere from 5-60 images for example.

Something tells me there's a lot you're leaving out of that story and that you're in a totally different league in terms of staff, gear, space, etc
