We have the original RAV4 [1996] so we do things the old fashioned way, roll up and down the windows and open the rear door with our hands! But this is pretty cool. Is there a way to open and close the tailgate manually? Disable the electric junk.
How do you disable the electric junk?
My 2018 works 90% of the time. I'm not sure if this is the issue, but I'll try it. Maybe it resets the settings. ❤

I sometimes wonder if they will ever go back to offering the V6 as an option. My guess is probably not. Jeff
Drive the Hybrid. You will be impressed with acceleration and fuel economy. It is only a $800 increase over the same model with all wheel drive.
SGL, Hybrid for the 90% and V6 for the people who tow or need a little extra performance. I hesitate to say it but the regular 4 cylinder engine is already redundant.

My 2023 Toyota se RAV4 hybrid doesn’t not have that package, because I tried the settings but it was not such thing. the only thing I didn’t like my RAV4 due to lack of that feature, it is hard for me to open my trunk with hand every time I need.If you have any recommendations

Do the gates on the Toyota RAV4 have a battery because that's what mine acts like sometimes it don't work sometimes it'll go up just a little as if there's not enough juice.

Hey Jeff great videos! Got a question for you. Lets say i strapped a canoe to the top of my 2020 rav4 xle and the lift gate opened. Would it stop when it came in contact with the over hanging canoe? Or would keep opening and cause damage?

our 2019 power liftgate doesn't open sometimes. You can hear it try to open, but it doesn't lift. It has been lubricated. Has been doing this since 20K miles and we are now at 60K. Anyone have any advice?
liftgate hinges were cracked! dealer charged $1700 to fix!

2019 Rav4 have transmission problems. Read Edmunds, before buying.
****BEWARE****: If you're going to install power liftgates to your vehicle, PLEASE make sure it's not from "autoeez" ("eez" is deliberately misspelled due to utoob censorship), or any other CHIN3S3-A-KRAP manufacturers. Just went through nightmare with DANGEROUS malfunctioning "autoeez" liftgate system installed by dealer before I bought vehicle. Short story: dealer had system removed and replaced by manual OEM equipment.
